At my dad's house for the weekend I help my step-mom take some spyware off of her computer. A few bad ones in the startup, a few running. I throw the google toolbar on so that there's a pop-up blocker.

And I check the disk space.

333mb free - Odd, thought this was a newer computer.

Check the drive specs - 111 gb drive that is taking up most of the space. Evidently there's a 101gb file in the LocalSettings\Temp\ folder - called LE.DLL.

I check google, but it brings up a shitload of spanish sites (LE DLL) and hardly any english ones.

Deleted the file, rebooted and no problems so far. Anyone heard of it?

That's a bigass file. I'd say run Trend Micro (free online virus scan), and get the spyware stuff running. Should be fine.

That's probably Ie.dll instead of le.dll, Wezas. Ie.dll is a toolbar download thingie that keeps downloading more thingies to fill itself up with. That's how it got so freaking big. ;)

Try putting Ie.dll into Google and see what that turns up for you.

*Gads, I hate the fonts that don't distinguish between "I" and "l". Put ie.dll into Google. Thats i as in eye. *

Ah, thanks HN. Now that I think of it, it very may well have been an upper case "eye".

Gone and forgotten about.
