Post your true stories of Karma here! Good or bad, coming back to you or someone else. I have one.

When I got hired at the Palms, I was a little apprehensive about telling my boss at Palace Station. He had been juggling the schedule around and we had one guy constantly out sick, so I knew they'd be shorthanded at the end of my two weeks. But when I gave him my notice, he was really cool about it, congratulatory and all.

Then he because an asshole. Four days before my final shift, I stopped into HR because I had a question about benefits. The HR girl, who knew me, was like, "you're quitting? I didn't even know!" I told her I'd given proper notice and everything, and she told me to tell Keith, my boss, that he needed to submit my paperwork to HR so they could have my final check ready for me on my last day, all the stuff I needed to sign, etc.

So I emailed Keith - three times! And asked him to take care of the stuff. After the second email with no response, my third was a little more curt, asking him point-blank what to expect when I walked into HR after my final shift. As I feared, nothing had been submitted and nothing was prepared for me.

To make it worse, Keith did not return either of the messages I left for him on his cell that day. Instead, HR called me thirty minutes before their office closed to tell me the stuff was finally turned in and ready. I had to zoom across town to get there in time.

He also completely ignored my request for a letter of reference from him, even though I'd never had anything but praise and great performance reviews during my year there. I had been warned by other people that Keith became bitter when someone quit working for him for a better opportunity, but I didn't believe it until then.

Despite all this, despite the fact that I could have REAMED his ass in my exit interview, I chose to not schedule one. I figured it was better to say nothing than say the things I wanted to say about his childish behavior.

I found out later that Keith told everyone in the room (some of whom I still keep in touch with) that I "badmouthed everyone" in my exit interview. They knew he was lying, of course, but it pissed me off that he even said it. The Surveillance community is a small one.

The karma bit? Two weeks after I started at the Wynn, I heard that Keith got fired from Station Casions. They just hauled him in, told him they were cutting him loose, and that was it. The funny thing is that I'm not entirely sure he deserved it. He wasn't bad at his job, and he did know what he was doing. But he treated me like shit for no reason, and so he got treated like shit. Ha, ha.

The friend who was so cruel about her husband having the heart attack and surgery has hit her Karma. She has to sell all but one horse, and she can't afford the 30,0000 dollar trailer she bought or the motor home. She is left with one horse no fancy trailer or motor home and can't even afford entry fees at the shows right now.

Her husband at 73 finally gets to retire, and she is miserable. Considering how she screwed me over and how she treated a man who worked himself almost to death so she could be queen shit of turd island I find this a fitting end.

A guy I worked with sold me a car, that he jury-rigged to work. The engine siezed on me 6 days after owning the car. When I asked what was up, he got very defensive... I said look. Give me half my money back, and we'll call it even. He wouldn't hear anything of it.

After I brought the whole matter to the attention of my bosses, he was fired. (I was working at Home Depot at the time.) He then started his own plumbing business... About 6 months later, he got really sick, and died. The cause was arsenic poisoning.

If that's not Karma, I don't know what is.

I once watched Peter Griffin deride a room of his friends for being stupid only to learn the next day that he was Petarded the very next day.

He deserved to be fired don't get me wrong, but isn't it illegal to fire some one over personal issues like that? I'm just wondering... I'm glad he got fired, I hate people like that.

In certain right-to-work states, I'm pretty sure you can quit and they can fire you for any reason, without retribution. This would exclude the obvious race, religion, sex, etc.

Also, on Spun's origional post, I was reading it and the whole time I was thinking the bad karma was going to come back to her or atleast thats where I thought she was going with it.

Until I got to the end I kept thinking, what did I miss anything? She didn't do anything wrong!

I just know because when I was like 11, there was a big snow storm. My dad worked an hour away and could not get to work because the roads were closed. Wal-mart fired him.

About a year later we got back payment for that whole year he had been our of the job. PLUS unemployment. They also had to offer his job back. (which he turned down, he hates to work, hasn't worked for 2 years while my mom slaves to support 3 kids off of an $11.50 an hour job)

So, I have Karma that has to do with work.

I started working at A & W a month after I turned 15. By this past June, I had atleast two years on everyone working there.

A month before graduation, I put in a request to have it off. Well, the bosses daughter who had been working there for 3 months, also put in a request. So, they refused to give me the time off.

Let me also add, that she is only a Junior and only wanted to go to watch a friend graduate. I had senority over her and I think my priorities for going were more important. My grandparents have looked forward to watching me walk and recieve my diploma since I was born.

I decided to go to her, told her I would pay her $20 to let me have it off. Told her how much it meant to me and to my Grandparents and she simply replied, "Sorry, you were too slow."

Ok, being the only senior I thought they would naturally assume I would want graduation off and a month would be pleanty in advance to ask for it off.

I had never been late, called in sick 5 times in the past 3 years, all with doctor notes. (almost all 5 times had to do with strep throat. so even though I felt like shit, as soon as the anti biotics kicked in, I went back to work.)

I had never been written up, always praised for my hard work.

They did not give over time (I remember working 11 days in a row my first summer there.) They gave one 15 minute break in an 8 hour shift, and they over worked me because of my age. All, were illegal. I never complained though.

So, I put in my two weeks notice. I also added that if they needed me, I could work up to the day of graduation. The next night, I went in for work, they met me at the door and said I was fired. I said Awesome! and walked away.

3 girls there were so upset that they quit cold turkey. They were also tired of the Boss playing favorites with his daughter. Two of the families were so upset at what happened, their parents called health services and reported A & W. So they were short to begin with, screwed themselves over, and were even shorter.

I also know of one family who heard I was fired, Didn't even ask wy, declared they were never going to A & W again and left. (They came in atleast 2 times a week. Over three years you begin to have customers know you by name.)

Yesterday, I was going over this giant pot-hole in the middle of the road really, really slowly. There was this crazy cabbie behind me who was just honking like crazy. I could literally hear this guy slapping his front windshield with the palm of his hand.

I could also hear, along with most of the people in a ten-mile radius, the beautiful screaming of his struts when he sped up like crazy flying over it as I had slowly changed lanes.

I think I even muttered something to myself like, "If that isn't poetic justice, I don't know what is." Heh :D
