Avatar problems

Since the election is now over, I thought I would get back to 'normal' and put my parkbandit logo back on as my avatar. I deleted my avatar (the NO Kerry logo) and put my parkbandit avatar back on.. it came back with a error message that my avatar was too big (which it's not) and now my Finger saluting Kerry is somehow my new avatar.

WTF??

As you can see... it's still doing the same thing for me Kranar. I went from no avatar.. to loading my parkbandit logo up.. to the Kerry salute.

There's something fucked up for sure... can you just change it? The parkbandit logo is loaded in my photo gallery.

Nevermind.. I think it might be a problem with uploading an avatar. I uploaded the pic to the photogallery and then simply used the url to finally get it to work.

Still, there is something fucked up because I haven't had the Kerry Salute as my avatar for 2 months or so.. and when I loaded up the parkbandit logo.. it just appeared.

This is still a bug here. I was going to change my avatar to a dwarf pic.. and poof.. here comes Kerry and the one finger salute.

I'll take note of it, have a look at the avatar code sometime this week.

If I understand correctly, when you update your avatar by using the forum's own avatar upload feature, you end up with an incorrect avatar? One you used from awhile ago? Is the filename the same? If it is, can you try changing it before uploading it?

Tried to upload it using the avatar upload feature.. it removed the Parkbandit picture, said my avatar was too big and then POOF.. the Kerry salute that I had as my avatar MONTHS ago.

Tried to use the URL for the uploaded gallery pic.. came back with no picture.

Copy and paste the line below into your Avatar URL filed, check the delete old avatar button, and submit.

This may not work because the image looks larger than the max supported. In which case, you will have to reduce, reupload, and replace the link.

I have to admit, Im having trouble with my avatar myself. I am trying to change it, and I seem to be unable to delete the one Im using now.

I go to control panel, switch to edit profile, check the delete avatar box, and click on the edit profile button. The page changes, and it says I have successfully edited my profile, yet when it returns to my home, my stewie avatar is still there. I also tried checking the delete avatar button, along with browsing and uploading my new avatar. Again it says that my profile has been sucessfully changed, yet again my avatar remains the same.

Any help? Im sure Im just doing something wrong, but I cant figure out quite what Im doing.

I just tried it, and it deleted my old avatar saying it was too big. So I tried changing it with the same size avatar and updating it. The new avatar worked but the old one won't. I guess I'll just stick with my new avatar.

Hookay, folks. I managed to change my avatar. Try this:

1. Upload the image you want to use to your gallery.
2. Right click on the image, choose properties, clip the URL of the image.
3. Go to your control panel and scroll down to Avatar URL:
4. DO NOT CHECK the Delete Image box beneath your current avatar.
5. Paste the URL of the avatar image you wish to use into the Avatar URL area provided.
6. Be sure Show Avatar in Post box is checked.
7. Scroll down and click on Edit Profile.

It worked without a hitch for me. It may work without uploading to your gallery, as well, if you just paste in the URL at which the image is currently located.

Let me know if it doesn't work for you. :)
