My girlfriend is running Win 98, and I've tried everything I know to get rid of it. The site looks like just a search engine, and can be found at http://www.globe-finder.com or just http://globe-finder.com

The probelm is I've tried clearing all the cookies, temp files, history, even tried blocking the site. I had it cleared for a while, but after a few times of opening up a browser, her default home keeps getting changed and it's a pain in the ass. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. Here's what you do.

In the Find Files/Folder box, search for msinfo.exe
Delete msinfo.exe (not msinfo32.exe)

Go to Run, notepad c:\windows\win.ini
Remove the line about msinfo.exe, and save it

Search for bootconf.exe and delete it

Then remove it from your registry

Then set your homepage again, and you should be set.
