Cool because of the jail scene with the black guy.

"Hey, he has a gun!"
Black guy: "It isn't a gun. It is a book!"

Have to see it but funny.

I love comedies like that.. One of the better ones.. I was NOT disappointed.

The Asian guy in that movie was also in The Perfect Score, and he was hilarious. The funny part is that he's actually this really well-spoken guy with the cutest Brit accent.

It was enjoyable, but certainly not quite the fall to the floor hysterical movie that X seems to be making it out to be.

I never said that the movie is a fall to the floor hysterical movie.

Stop interpretating and give your opinion.

I think his opinion was:

It was enjoyable,

I will have to watch it, it looks like something my boyfriend would enjoy.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. One of the better comedies I've seen in a while.

You got all of that out of a poll that says 'Cool,' and him saying 'HEY' with a picture of the front cover?

Her opinion was what I asked with the creation of the thread. I didn't asked to be analyzed nor interpreted.

I am a white guy, so normaly this movie shouldn't appeal me.

But there are movies that I could not rate as either cool, or not cool. Some are in the middle! And to me, would be considered "enjoyable."

Too much grey zone is bad.. You need to be a little bit more extrem, it's either you would want to WASTE 2 hours of your life watching it or NOT.

I personally value my time like that and it is the best thing you can do, otherwise you become fat and eat chips while watching your third movie each day.

Uhh....where the hell did that idea come from?

I liked the film.

Xcalibur

It's a movie about a minority with a minority doing white stuff.

Nei Patrick Harris is gay, yet, he play a strong hetero in that movie...

Well, you see a complete different movie than the "normality" is.

No traditional white guy that is blamed by his parents because he failed them, bla bla bla.

USualy those movies are black movies with black people with only black people. I think those movies are so bad, but now we get to see new kinds.:pig:

GSLady17
08-02-2005, 09:01 AM
I think he likes to stereotype. Not only "White guys" but also homosexuals by looking at the other thread.

Probably means (if you look at typical stereotypes)

Comedy:

Monty Python="whit guys" movie.

This movie= "black guys" movie.

But you can correct me if I am wrong, trying to understand what you mean as well.

Xcalibur

Most of the non-white movies are black movies about black people living black things.

Those movies are usualy SO BAD and SO uncool... You see the black "hot" chicks with her problems and the "manly" cool black guy that has problems with the police, bla bla bla.

AT least in that movie, you see 2 minorities living their life like anyone and not full crappy clichés...

What about the movie "White Chicks?"

That's two black guys AS cops.

Movie was so full of clichés and "blacky" jokes.

Black guys know how to dance, whities not.. yeah right, never see me dancing!

I was actually disappointed by this movie. I rented it with my girlfriend a few months ago...she fell asleep during it. For some reason I was expecting it to be MUCH funnier (and I used to be a pretty big stoner...so I enjoy this humor.)

Best part of the movie is Doogie blowing lines off of a stripper's ass.

X, once more scoring points for whatever the hell weird portion of society he represents.

...and I agree, Neil Patrick Harris was hilarious.

Harold and Kumar is probably one of my favorite comedy movie ever.

I fear the sequel, though, don't wanna see a damn American pie clone.

Seriously, do you even read what you type in, or do you just hit random keys?

I remember when I used to smoke pot a lot. We'd get the munchies and go on strange quests to get them. It wasn't nearly as hilarious as this movie, but it was funny (at least to us).. Yeah, we were white.. How's this movie non-white? I dunno.

A co-worker of mine (who's asian) just got a temp to work for him recently. The temp is an asian guy as well. He sends me an IM complaining about having to do all this crap mundane work. I send him back an IM as follows:

I say:
Give it to the asian guy, they love that kind of shit

Co-worker says:
daaaaaaaaaaaamn, LOL..... give it to Harold

Damn dog..

We all know movies made by blacks and made for blacks.

It's like teen movies for teens, women movies for women, bla bla bla.

Harold and Kumar is a multi-cutural movie made for anyone, even gays. And not because I found that movie the best comedy make that movie a good movie for me, I don't like to laugh.:socool:

made for gays?

Three gay references I remember are:

Kumar: "I figured doing some gay shit would wake you up."

The guy peeing next to Kumar commenting on his pubes

The intern acting inappropriate in the O.R.

I wouldn't say any of those put gays in a good light.

But it is an amusing movie.

Tell me why it sounds like a minory, why such things must be "cliché" like:

HEY NIGGA said by a black is cool but by a white is derogative...

That movie is NOT a normal movie, it's fucking different and for one time, it rocks.

Read the whole thread before trying to make a smart ass post that only ends up showing how bad you are at it.

Um, skirm, maybe you should reread the thread. You see, X made 1 post prior to yours (the one in question) which is the one that started the thread.

Pulling relevant quotes from other threads can help clarify someones points or serve as in this case to shoot holes in them.

You seem to have assumed incorrectly that all information used in one thread can only come from that thread.

That may be the limit of your own attention span, but others can do a bit more.

Thanks for playing.

Yo, lesbian mod, saying that a movie is the most funny and then saying it's not the best movie for me isn't getting pwned, it's saying in a way that is something hard to understand for some people that comedies in general aren't my thing.
