Getting to Broken Lands

I'm stuck at a hidden door in the monastery, trying to get to Broken Lands. Any suggestions on how to open the door?


[Monastery, Altar]
The altar is badly burned and the long stone altar table has been shattered. A tall brazier mounted from a long pole in the floor of the room stands to one side. There is a charred iron chest on the floor behind what was once the altar. Obvious exits: east

The hidden door appears to be closed.

There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.

How do you get back into the Dark Shrine? What do I have to do to the huge relief?

Many thanks! How in the hell would I have ever figured that out? Literally was standing there for at least 45 minutes trying to figure that out - all the while - people were going in and out. I felt like a tourist.

Is there any possible way for somebody without 12 ranks of Arcane Symbols to get into the broken lands?

Phase? Planar Shift? Wizards Gate? stalking somebody going in? anything?

Gold rings will get you in if I recall correctly... but I haven't tried in forever.

You can get in with like 2 ranks, if you have the patience.

Normal gold rings won't work, planar shift I don't believe will either(the sorcerer I know that hunts vruul regularly goes to the MC) and lower ranks of AS will get you in.

With about 2 ranks, you're looking at about an hour to get in. Even with 12 it was a pain in the ass for me. I have 25 ranks of AS and MIU.

You go into RT and get knocked down.

Funny thing is, you can still read the runes in RT. I know I dtacked myself with 12 ranks to over 400 seconds.

Wow... One last question about Broken Lands....

Is there any other room other than the entrance room (preferably up by Vruul perhaps after that damn staircase) that you can set a ring to? Or Planar shift to, or anything?
