Sushi brought up the fact that there are alot of sex related threads. With top 5 threads with sexual topics. Since some of the posters are minor, I suggest to have a disclaimer under it as well.
I know we already have a relationships folder, I suggest to have Sex & Relationship in one folder, and er all provocative pics should be posted in there too, and censor pic post. :P
I am also bored.

There were basically 0 sex related threads prior to the last couple of days. I'm not so sure a folder is warranted.
I think everyone wanted to talk about it, but was waiting for someone to go first. But yeah, of the top 5 threads, 4 were sex related. Kinda makes you wonder what kind of people post here...

The current Relationships folder is for GemStone relationships, not real-world relationships.
The current sex-related threads fit fine in either Off-Topic or Social. I agree with Bob. I don't see the need for a folder specifically devoted to these topics. They pop up from time to time, but not often enough to rate a folder of their own.
In my experience, if you bring up the topic of sex you're definitely going to get a conversation going, whether it be on a message board or at a party. It's a subject everybody about which everybody has something to say, unlike politics. ;)

Oh great. A suggestion aimed at making people even MORE confused about where new topics should be posted. Good job.
(Although, having all provocative pics in one locations would make things easier...er to avoid them I mean of course. Yup, that's what I meant. Truly...)

How on earth can you be confused when topic names and anything related to it are listed in that folder?

How on earth can you believe consolidating the few sexual topics, with a disclaimer or without a disclaimer, would even slow down a minor? Why don't you just wave a red flag...

I do kind of agree... that pictures and links pop up in threads that are not appropriate for looking at on a work computer. You cannot always tell by the subject line. Heck, I have to turn off avatars while I'm at work because some, imo, could potentially get me into trouble.
Maybe posters should be a little more conscientious and put up disclaimers for the people at work. I recall Arkans going to a link at work that he wished he hadn't have.

Hmmm, well I'm all for people putting disclaimers on things that arent fit for work but we do have a ToS that covers what people can and can't post, so its sort of like view at your own risk with every topic. It's the same with clicking on links... Dont risk it at work! ;)
Definitely don't want another folder though, I'm quite happy to deal with these topics in off topic and social forum. There arent enough topics to need an entire folder dedicated to it!

To answer your question. It's not to SLOW down a minor, but give us the oppurtunity to post and talk about something that is intended for an adult, and void any responsibility if it is viewed by a minor.
Edit: Because I don't really care to know anymore why he would be confused.

Not really a new folder really, but just to change the Relationship folder by adding Sex & Relationship. Alex and HM does have a point that it only appears on occasion, but I think it would be much easier to thread that risk if one of us are browsing at work. I don't think we would need a new moderator even, since Harmnone already moderates it. Who else but our mother hen would know "best" what is considered way too provocative for a minor?
Even if the initial poster would wave a red flag that it's adult content, we are still unsure what the other posters would post.. Pic post is a general topic when it comes to pics.. Anybody would post anything picture related there. Including sexually provocative ones.
Edited to add: Best, since some people would say.. use your juddgement blah blah when we all know we sometimes lack it here.

Well I see your point, but if you changed the relationships folder to include all real life stuff too, we would need a new moderator. Harmnone is an administrator, she doesn't need to have to deal with a folder that would need some serious moderating on her own, so ultimately one of us would have to moderate that folder.
I think we are doing fine having those topics in the folders they currently appear. To be perfectly honest, if you're at work and viewing websites, it's your responsibility to make sure you don't view anything unsuitable. This isnt't the babysitters club, anyone who has a problem could always just not read the PC at work!
As I said, the ToS is there so you know what can and cannot be posted here, view threads at your own risk.

How is that statement so hilarious? That's what it is. It was originally made as more of an advice column when people weren't sure how to handle game relationships.
This is a game related message boards. It's nice enough to include off-topic, social and political folders for people to discuss things other than games. Calling attention to sexual topics is a bit much.

No they can't.
Besides, I think the thread topics [usually] and where they were posted will speak for themselves. If you see anything about sex, relationships, or the like, maybe use your head before opening it if you're worried about content instead of asking us for ways to hold your hand.

There's only 2 major relationship problems I could think of that would relate to in-game. Is Character complaints to which it has it's respective folder. and uhm in-game love relationship. I guess at that time, I thought it was funny because it reminded me of these 2 couples in game who were mushy mushy and saying I love you I love you relentlessly to each other that night.
I think sex is a more discussed topic compared to maybe the newly implemented but not frequently visited by the majority politics folder
No they can't.

Well, after what bob and hm said, I pretty much gave up on the idea. Since I thought it wasn't that important, and I thought.. I personally read before I open.. so I don't see why I should care that people don't.
I replied to chica's post just to address her question/comment, but not really expecting more from it.
I'm also not bored anymore.

Whether sex is discussed more than in-game relationships is not the point. This is a GAME message boards. We'll be more prone to add more GAME folders than we would sex folders since this board is not focused on sex but on GAMES.
The other topics are always welcome, but they are not what these message boards are about. The savant and paladin folders are rarely used, but since they are GAME related, they are much more relevant to GAMES than they are to off topic discussions.

I am aware it is a game forum. I don't think I ever question why paladin or the monks forum. I believe I brought up the politics folder.

What the fuck? There are like 4 sex topics. There's approximately one billion politics ones, hence the folder.

Doesn't really seem like there needs to be a folder.
In a month it'll be a section with three dead threads in it.

Agreed. The randy-ness of the threads here tends to wax and wane. Full moon, people get wild, want to talk about sex, then it goes away for awhile.
But the political zealots are always ready.

Anyone that wanna speak about their sexual life on a GEMSTONE forum should be shot twice from
First: A gospel song by 10 Korean fat chicks
Second: A bucket full of Teeoncy's burped ramen.

Right, but po and shit and how to properly wipe oneself after taking a dump are okay topics of discussion.
I don't think a sex/relationships folder is necessary though. This is a subject that can and does end up in any given discussion depending on the topic. It shouldn't be confined anyway.
