View Full Version : Travel Dreams
Well, I just checked a huge one off my list. My trip to Tokyo was a long time dream and now thats been done I am already starting to think of the next places on my list to go see.
I’m planning a trip to Panama this Christmas/New Years. Next year its LA for my Dad’s 60th and I plan to try and get him down to Baja for a few days.
Besides all that I think at the top of my list now is Italy. Rome, Florence, and the coastal villages.
Spain is very enticing as well.
The Netherlands are of course on my list, but not really all that high. (pun) I’ve met people from the Netherlands when I was in Isreal and they say you can get the best drugs and sex there... but ish... I’m really more interested in historic/cultural experiences.
Wales is another because thats where my family line originates. Its on my list above the Netherlands definitely. Italy slightly moreso because I am a romantic at heart and an art lover.
I’ve done Paris (which I really loved), London and Manchester, Isreal (small country so from the north to El Lat, Tel Aviv to Jerusalem), and all over the US (LA, NY, TX, AK, AZ, NM, CO, and many more though I wouldn’t mind Hawaii).
I hear great things about Canada so I should probably add that. And Australia... but I really don’t have much interest in either.
Where would you like to go? And, where would you consider relocating?

Always wanted to visit Seattle, Paris, London and Rome. I've been to Cancun, Hawaii, NYC (always wanted to go there) and many places around the USA. Oh and I'd like to visit Japan as well.

I want to go to Sweden or Germany for at least one metalfest.

Wynn is opening a casino in Monaco, tentatively 2009-2010 ish. I'd relocate to be the director there!
Other than that, I really really want to go to Greece. Not the big cities, but the cyclades, specifically Mykonos. I want to go on a Nile cruise in Egypt... once it becomes a bit safer. I want to visit Spain, the Canary Islands and definitely Italy. As far as foreign countries go, I've only been to Mexico, Portugal (which was beautiful) and the UK (which I'd visit again).

I have always wanted to go to England. Looks like I won't be doing that any time soon.
I have been to Canada and I recommend going. Toronto was excellent, and it's really nice there. :)
You know, travel these days is decently affordable. I’ve been lucky in some cases to have an Uncle who works for an airline and likes to travel. BUT...
My trip to Manchester, England was only a $360 round-trip, planned well ahead of time.
I hope I don’t come off as a braggart because really I’ve had more opportunity than the average person with a real massive drive and adventurous spirit to see all that I can see.
PS. I forgot to add Hong Kong which is up there on the list.

I think it's awesome, Backlash. Unfortunately my job affords, like, zero time off for travel (and there's really not a lot of sense going overseas unless you can go for more than five days, IMO). It's tough for me to balance a job I love with a constant desire to be a zillion different places. Count yourself lucky!

Well Ireland is top on my list, followed by Scotland (my ancestral homeland), England, Wales etc.
Germany I would love to see. Italy, Greece, France.
I want to do an Alaskan cruise, see Hawaii. I'd like to go to Seattle, Tampa, Boston.
Jamaica, St. Thomas.
I've been to Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Belize and some other island in middle Honduras.
I've been to France twice, England twice, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. I'm going back to France this winter.
I would love to go to Japan - we're trying to get sent to either Yokota or Kadena AFB after Alaska. I've always wanted to go to Germany as well. Ireland and Scotland too. Austria and Switzerland were beautiful, so I wouldn't mind going back there, either.

Sometimes I wish I had the kind of job that would send me random places every few years so I could see a lot of stuff. I don't think I'd do well in the military, though.

Baja? That sounds pretty tight.
I am in the process of relocating right now and have to say that basically any apartments with rent that aren't two inches away from another apartment with rent would be just grand.
I've heard some great things about Canada too, but would never consider permanently living there. Just from being in Calgary and Montreal, I can tell you that it gets so fucking cold some times that the instant shrinkage one suffers couldn't even be compensated for by wearing like twelve parkas..... made out of walrus hide.
As far as my travel dream goes... I'd like to check out a safari on the southeastern coast of Australia... I've been watching a lot of Animal Planet and I have an unhealthy infatuation with the duckbilled platypus :shibby:

I don't think I would either, so I'm very happy that he enjoys it. I loooove to travel, and since he has never been out of the US, we're really pushing to get sent to an overseas base.

I've never been outta the country yet, and before my move a few months ago, I hadn't made it outta the surrounding five states...don't even ask which states, prolly the least exciting in the union...but my dreams rely in the natural beauty of Ireland, Scotland, and Japan for my biggest kicks, but really I'd just like to go everywhere!

I've been to Paris. Only if I suddenly became very wealthy would I want to visit there again. Or if I was with someone who absolutely HAD to visit France.
I've always wanted to visit Ireland, Scotland, and England. I would love to walk through castles, letting my mind wander about what history those walls could possibly hold. Not to mention I'd be looking at every wall, wondering if a secret passage was hidden there! LOVE IT!
Germany would be a nice place to visit, as I have relatives there that I have never met. Not to mention two of my cousins tend to move there on a whim. I miss them!
Egypt would be really neat to visit. I get so intrigued about the pyramids and mummies. I have an inner desire to learn about archaeology, but alas, I never let it out.
Odd one, but I'd also say Transylvania. Vlad the Impaler's castle.
I think it would be fun to drive through every state, not necessarily stopping in each state, but just saying I was through each one. I want to take a picture of the "Welcome" sign at each state border.
All I can think of at the moment.

I so want to visit New Zealand. I can't wait to go there one day! I also really want to visit Brazil. In fact, I'd like to go anywhere cool outside of Europe since I've never left my cute little continent. ;)
I love travelling.. a lot. Unfortunately, I'm a bit burned out on the whole Europe thing. To me, once you've see one European country, you've pretty much seen them all. You know what to expect.
Anyway, I've been to Spain, France, Poland, Czech Republic, and seen a bit of Germany. Very nice countries, although they are a bit expensive (with the exception of Poland.. Dirt cheap)
Anyway, if I had my choice.. Silly as it sounds, but I'd love to take one of those grand safaris through Africa like they used to do, but unfortunately, armed hostile rebels turn me off from that. Maybe I'll just stick with my original grand plan of Lisbon to Moscow when I get a ton of savings. Yes.. all by train, bus, and all that. Would be great.

Only places in the US I still want to go are Wyoming and Alaska and I'm doing that next summer. I have some friends in Seattle I'd like to catch up with at some point as well.
I'd like to go to Austria. I've always wanted to see the Alps. I've always wanted to spend some time in Northern Italy and I could do alright spending some time in Iceland as well.

I dislike business travel with a passion.
I love vacation travel.
The list of things to see and do is almost endless.
In no order:
The Great Wall
The Acropolis & Parthenon
Angel Falls
The Sea of Diamonds (Bolivia)
Eisriesenwelt (Austria)
The Aurora Borealis
Machu Picchu
Pyramids
Victoria Falls
The Bay of Fundy
Angor Wat
Three Gorges Dam
I'd like to think I could make it to the base camp at Everest.
and a lot more.
C/Valth
Mexico.
If I went there I know I would not come back.
Secondly, I'd love to see all of America.
You have an amazing country, filled with culture and history which bewitches me.

I've always wanted to visit Prague. I've got a trip there scheduled in Summer of 2007. (Yes I really plan ahead.) We'll stop in Germany and fly out of Paris on the way back.
I'd also really like to see China and Japan. My life goal is to retire to the Grand Caymans when I get old and rich.

I have been to Canada, Mexico and Spain. Would like to visit:
Australia(probably one of my top 3 id like to visit)
England(top 3)
Ireland(top 3, family ties)
after those its:
Germany(family ties)
Amsterdam(not for the historical reason)
Brazil(not sure why, just do)
As bad as it seems there are certain parts of Canada I wouldn't mind moving to, I had an absolute blast up there this past weekend. Almost covered my entire trip with my winnings in the casino. Then I went to the bar and lost most of it...
