Anyone mind steering me towards best cash hunting in the landing between levels 10-15?

Regretfully I've neglected my First Aid somewhat... I can still skin, just not every time.

I did very well with greater orcs on the trail to Sol, especially with box founds, but would like to do even better.

All suggestions appreciated.

You need then rich monsters (gems and boxes)

There is none "easy" in landing nor inicemule

So sol haven, shelfae maybe or near the lake, depending on your training

Wind witches and thunder tolls are ok if you can hit the areas off-peak. That and you need to be able to stomach Vif occasionally script hunting there.

Personally, I preferred RR, warriors and mercs till 18 or so, then to warfarers if you can get the TD up.

Mountain ogres (or trolls, been a long time) on the trail to Anwyn. Puma hides fetch some ok silver as well.

Bone golems. Take the path in dangerland, then head in a general northwestern direction.

They are evel 8 undead. Hit very hard (the pound has an avd of 62 against double leather).

You can stance dance them, because they have a 6 or 7 second round time, but ghost wolves (11) are in the same area. While you are in roundtime, they like to bounce in the room and eat your face off.

It's a difficult area, but you can pull very nice boxes off the golems. For that age, it's easily the wealthiest and easily the most difficult.

Darc orcs, if you can find them anywhere.

Yep, but they are a rare sight. It makes getting skins for COL damn annoying.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but my 10-15 trainin chars make bank on monkeys in Icemule.

If Wind witches and Thunder trolls are not abundant try Ocama Vale. Often times those hob shamans carry wands and scrolls. Helps me out a lot.

Thurfel's Island in Ice Mule isn't too bad, just dodge the crocs, as they take forever. I think one of the best early cash hunting spots is skeletal ice trolls, but they're 18-21 undead and swing at 170 with battle-axes.

I still cash hunt Skeletal Ice Trolls even now ;) Recommended.

They're great fun with a sorcerer who can maelstrom and wrack until fully encumbered.

10 boxes per trip, 50k+ per trip, I can easily make a few hundred K in a weekend.

And when I go with my swinging cleric friend, only mithril and enruned boxes get taken back, and we can cart around 20 or so.

I hunt skeletal ice trolls now.

Tangle weed seems to trip them up about 2/3 of the time. They stay on the ground for a whole five or six seconds from the time they fall, rather than their last attack. If there's only one in the room, an unaimed ambush to the neck can get the job done in one shot.

If there is more than one, you have to stance back and bleed them down. 170 AS with a battle axe is no joke.

And don't even think about climbing out. If your in voln, symbol of return. Or a gold ring. It's a must.

Alanamarie used to hunt the hell out of Skeletal Ice Trolls. Not sure if she still does. I never went there, myself.

When you get older, Thurfel's Cellar is freaking RICH.

Just so you know.

The idea of an anal probling while dead is making me a little hesitant. That, and I'd like to keep building my favor.

I'll have to try it out sometime. Thanks for the heads up.

Anal probing?! WHERE?!

Drew2

Yeah that's the downside.. Urchins can put a spike through your chest. Fall down dead. A level 80 empath with a good amount of CM and completely unencumbered got a spike in chest eventually. It's easy to dodge usually, but when it hits you, you're down.

Score! How old is the stuff in Thurfel's cellar?

Drew2

Like early 20s. Maimara wouldn't bat an eye at them.

Fortunatly I just turtle Tayre and put all his containers on him and tote him around as a mule when i'm down there as.. someone else. The urchins seem to ignore him, but the arachnids like to web him. And it breaks your arm when you fall. But yeah um.. empaths don't care.

Hips

The cellar really is awesome for cash hunting. Just don't try to skin the urchins... they try to kill you with their spines even after they're dead. No one likes being poisoned for 20-per, dissipating at 1. :(

I made around 750K - 1 million a level hunting deranged sentries (13) and wall guardians (11) when I was bringing up a new character a couple years ago. Of course, this was a couple months after the area was released so the money situation may have very well changed.

The dark orcs are there and there are plenty of them in the Smuggling Tunnels. The treasure is decent. I think Mountain Ogres is better treasure, but there are less of them.

can i use a bow in thurfels, and can i use a familiar to get out?

is it all undead?

No, there is no undead on thurfels. I know the island is a no-fog in zone, I dono if you can fog out in all the places, but you can fog out from the cellar.

Yah, if yer good at room/stance dancing. Bows work fine, but the critters in there swarm and move around a lot.

StrayRogue

Is archery going to be the same in GS4 in respects to that encumberance does not effect fire RT?

Warriorbird

In that sense, yes.
