I know it may only have been me suffering from it, no clue why.
But I found this funny.

>stand
Lord Amberose just went northwest.
>
Windleaf waves to Amia.
>
Amia asks, "Does anyone have a blaknet?"
>
Windleaf nods to Amia.
>
Amia waves to Windleaf.
>
Amia says, "Err blanket."
>
Amia chuckles.
>
Speaking melodically in Guildspeak, Windleaf says something you don't understand.
>
Lord Amberose just arrived.
>
Amberose accepts Rosellyn's red rose.
>
Windleaf giggles.
>
Amberose grins sheepishly.
>
Amia says, "I'm soo tired."
>
Lord Amberose just went northwest.
>
Amia nods.
>
Windleaf stands up.
>
Lord Windleaf just skipped merrily east.
>
Lord Vargarv just arrived.
>
Your SIGN OF DEFENDING is no longer effective.
>
Lord Windleaf just arrived.
>
Rosellyn whistles tunelessly to herself.
>
Windleaf sits down.
>
Windleaf offers Amia a red rose embroidered pillow.
>
You hear very soft footsteps.
>
Amia says, "I need get one."
>
Rosellyn blinks.
>
You hear very soft footsteps.
>
Amia beams happily at Windleaf!
>
Amia accepts Windleaf's embroidered pillow.
>
Rosellyn says, "Nice pillow."
>
You hear very soft footsteps.
>
Rosellyn smiles.
>
You notice Libranon moving stealthily west.
>
Windleaf offers Amia a voluminous red rose-motif blanket.
>
Amia rubs her embroidered pillow.
>
Your SIGN OF DEFLECTION is no longer effective.
>
Amia accepts Windleaf's red rose-motif blanket.
>
Rosellyn blinks.
>
Windleaf giggles.
>
Your SIGN OF WARDING is no longer effective.
>
You stand back up.
>
Amia carefully inspects her red rose-motif blanket.
>
Rosellyn begins pouting.

Eww, that reminds me of playing over a 4800 baud modem.

It's a nightmare sometimes.
AOL for you.

That seems to always happen during invasions... I wish Simu would get their act together...

What I hate is if someone asks me a question, I respond, and the answer shows up later.

Hypothetical expample..

Soandso says, "Can you heal me please?"
>'yes, be glad to

{insert tons of crap}

Othersoandso says, "Anybody lend me a million silvers?"

You say, "Yes, be glad to."

I remmber back 4 years. With over a 1000 people on the lag was nothing like this.

Makes you wonder what they are doing on those servers.

Probably Windows 2003 Server.

Either that or they are the original servers and need to be updated.

Something is not right.

They probably use my method for handling hardware.

"They say to have 1GB RAM for this but my 256MB will do just fine because things operate four times as well when I'm around!"

Most of the time, it doesn't work.

For some reason, I haven't experienced a lag THAT bad. Even during invasions. Even in premium merchant events where there is more than a 100 in one room. It was never that bad. Maybe it's just AOL.

I remember how ridiculous the lag was when the WD quests with the invasions and crap were running. That was horrid.

I have experienced lag in the last month since I have been back on Gemstone. I missed it and even though I run and am building my own MUD Gemstone is different.

I am not AOL and I have a T1 going into my house for my Computer business so why do I lag?

Make sure you use port 23 as the port to connect to for your MUD.

That way I can play at work!:saint:

I own the business... no need to telnet in. Just connect as normal for me.

Besides 23 is locked out as it is basic telnet. I only allow SSH through to my servers.
