MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I got an RP award!

An old memory bubbles up from your past, and causes you to reflect a moment. With a flash of insight, you realize you understand yourself a bit better than you did a moment ago. The sudden feeling of self-knowledge is a pleasant one.

Move this thread to complains so I can flame the hell out of him, the GM that gave it to him, and the balance of the universe.

Move it now.

Ok I'll do this without flaming...

Seriously, no insult intended.. How in the HELL did you get one, Garr? I mean... wow.

RP awards shouldn't be handed out like candy.

Roleplay Awards should be given for... omg.. ROLEPLAY.

GarrsSoul

Keep at it man. Looks like you want it. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something you want to do.

I didn't say he -can't- RP, he just DOESN'T RP.

This just totally lowered the whole meaning and value of an RP award.

I know people who were given them for just being in the audience at a wedding and smiling and stuff when the bride walked down the aisle.

Yeah, Greg got one for asking who Sukara was while waiting in line for an alter from Bindi.

That's it. Nothing else. Just ASKING WHO SHE WAS. And then Bindi made Sukara come in a smooch him.

Congratulations, Garr! Now, keep up the good work, hon. Stay in character while in game and you will be surprised how much fun you can have. :)

HarmNone is happy for you

I understand the whole concept of positive reinforcement, but please... I stood at the well for 10 minutes, interacted with the stuff going on, got an RPA. I didn't stop interacting, and I didn't scream out "I got an award!!" like Danios did... I just continued on until the situation was over.

Garr got one for staring at the wall. Although... I guess that behavior is better than others.

Edit: The point is, no great feat was accomplished tonight.

Don't hate Tayre. Let the guy enjoy it for goodness sake. It isnt like getting an oscar or something.

We all rp and most of the time the only recognition we receive is the enjoyment of doing it well. Look at an RPA as a nice surprise, but in no way the ultimate validation. That only comes from yourself.

And it's his first one. It's nice, I'm happy for him, regardless how he got it. May there be many more.

There is no way of knowing for sure for what the RPA was given. It could just as well have been given for some bit of roleplaying that Garr was doing earlier. RPAs are not always given at the time the roleplay is displayed.

HarmNone sometimes could not figure out what she had done to earn one

LOL!!

I hate it when people do that. If I were a GM and I gave someone an RPA..and they did that, I'd take it away...with some sort of message letting them know, too.

thats an area award. Several in the area were doing what the GM intended or thought was good RP.

When I am MAing I will report thanks to the GM from my two zombies for area awards.

Christ. I hope it was one of the flat bonus ones.

I'm willing to bet it was one of the weenie little 200 exp flat awards. Frankly, I've had more rpa's than I can recall and at least of handful of them were for things so stupid, that I had trouble justifying hunting. I've never found any rhyme or reason to when rpa's are given, or how they go about selecting which one to give. I've done some rather complicated rp events that took me hours to plan and then hours to 'perform' and seen nothing, even though I had most of the town showing up for it (fortune telling way back when, for instance). I've gotten the big rpa's before when I was merely insulting the griffins I was fighting, no invasion, just hunting.

Overall I can't really complain, since I have received a good number of rpa's and in general I don't see oafs getting more than the occasional rpa for being in the right place at the right time. It could be better though.
