View Full Version : Fundraising: 16m For Sale

Okay, this is kind of lame, but I figure I'd put it up anyway.

If you've been reading a few of my last threads, you know that I'm going to propose soon. With that though, I'm still a bit short on money... and I've decided to try and sell some silvers to make up for it.

I've got 16m for sale, but what I need is around 400.00 . So, if you feel like making a donation, I'm selling silvers at a steep price BUT you can rest assured that the money will go to a good cause.

The math is simple. If I sell 1m @ 25 a million, I'll come up with just enough to finance with cash what I'd like to buy. Of course then I'll be broke, but happy.

So, with that, I'm setting a base price at 25 per million! If you'd even like to pay more, or just buy a million, that'd be great. Contact me in game via psinet or contact me via AIM @ Metaphorman13 .

I've got 13m in the landing, 3m in Ta'Illistim. I can probably deliver anywhere, just ask!

Thanks.

I have recieved a donation in silvers of 2m, so that puts me at 18m.

Thanks goes to Keller.

How does your spending habits qualify as "a good cause"?

Drew

I believe the idea is that he will use the money to buy a ring, that being the good cause. He already sold a bunch of other stuff on ebay if I remember correctly, for the same cause.

Its for an engagement ring!

Whether you think that is a good cause or not is up to you and how you choose to spend your money :)

You are asking people to donate silvers so you can sell them and buy your fiance an engagement ring...

I am pleased for you and your fiance, but I would define a "good cause" as the homeless, or orphans in romania or displaced people in Somalia etc...

Keller

it's like a silent auction at church.

You buy something you want at a price you'd never pay because you know they're going to use the money better than you would.

I dont get it

Yah, I made about 900 for selling M:TG playing cards. That's pretty much what is in my bank account right now.

Actually, I'm asking them to buy them at a higher price.

Also, thanks to Keller's donation, I can now ask for 22.25/mil to reach my goal.

Payment is available via paypal, check by mail, money order, or cash. If you pay on any of the latter I wouldn't have a problem with giving you silvers first obviously :)

Oh...ok

Does it work? Are people buying stuff like that?

Edited to say Geez...22 per million??
I really dont get it.

I've recieved one donation already.

Some people are generous, so I'd say yes.

Can I get a tax write off?

Caiylania

Sorry, Nakiro. I am happy for you but I must agree.

If you need the money that much, your capped. Go on a hunting spree and sell a ton of silvers for normal pricing. Don't ask others to dish out extra money when you could make it up hunting.

It's a beautiful ring, and I'm all for your fiance getting it. But that is on your shoulders, not other people to pony up.

I wish you the best though.

Good luck and all with the ring, the engagement and all the rest.. but I seriously doubt anyone it going to pay that kind of money for silvers.. Gemstone isn't cheap in the first place, and people aren't exactly going to go out looking for how to spend more on it..

Its okay, I'm not really expecting very many (if any) people to bite. Just thought I'd throw out the bait.

Can't blame someone for trying I say. If I had 25 bucks sitting around I'd send them your way.

I can get silvers at 12 dollars a million...

Parkbandit

If I needed extra cash.. I would probably just go out and deliver pizzas for a month or so until I got enough. Or I would by my fiancee a cheaper ring.. because I would hope that she would understand.

I certainly wouldn't be panhandling for silver donations so that I can try to eventually sell them to someone.

"Oh baby, thanks for the ring.. it's beautiful!"

Thats what I thought.
"Here's your ring honey, paid for by hours of strenuous begging."

I have to agree.. I am happy for you and your future fiance, however throwing this kind of thing out there seems like taking advantage of your friends. Don't you have parents or someone that can loan you the money, or do you HAVE to get this ring right this moment.. if that's the case.. you'd think you would have come up with the money first, before you decided to get the ring..

Nakiro

Let me reiterate:

This is entirely voluntary. Its for people who would like to help. If you don't want to that is perfectly fine and I respect and understand that.

If you want to call it begging, fine. There are those here whom I have given my time and efforts to in the past and have previously asked me for ways to show their gratitude. If they still feel so inclined, they can do so now. If they don't I am sure nothing will change between our mutual friendships :)

That's all for now.

I'll donate some items from Ebon's Gate, if you want to sell them.

I dont understand the crap he's getting.. he's not begging.. he was simply explaining WHY they were priced so high, because i know on these boards if someone listed silvers for 22 dollars per they'd get a new asshole ripped for them. I think he has every right to explain himself, and if you dont want to participate, that's fine and dandy, but dont tell him he's wrong for asking for more money than usual. It's his silver and his pricing, regardless of what it is for.

I'm not complaining that he's selling silver at $22 per million... I'm simply pointing out that I didn't agree with the way he's going about raising money for a ring for his fiancee. In my opinion, there are better ways. Christ... I think I could make $400 in a week if I needed the money.

Asking for donations for something that he wants to buy = begging

Keller

He never asked for donations. He is selling silvers.

Selling silvers = selling silvers.

Nakiro if you're still short the silver you need I'll give you 1m. That's currently Anticor's bank account if I had more I'd offer it. I understand where you're at as I was just there.

SHUT THE FUCK UP! Every fucking idiot is able to buy at 12 $ per.

The point is not there.

You don't agree, cool! DON'T BUY!

The guy deserves a big thumb up too, using a loser's game to have a better marriage.

And I agree with Keller, his price is high, but there's a reason behind it.

He's not buying a jeep, or wanting to buy a ticket to get laid with another gs loser.

And he was a damn good member of the winning team

Hey man, if you have enough silvers to sell to make enough money to buy a house, more power to you. And if you do, let me know how that goes cause I could really use a house too. :D

I love the northside Indy connection. I was just there (1.5 yrs ago) and that's why I understand. I know the silvers would just sit in my bank account waiting for me to sell them when I quit GS. So instead I gave them to Nakiro, he'll use them way better than I will.
