View Full Version : Am I a bad person for finding this funny?

Pull up Google, and enter the words: Gemstone Players Corner.

The first two should be links to the PC.

The third... well... that's a beloved member of our board posting his suicidal thoughts on another board. It should show up as

"Help!! I can't handle it anymore... : Online Psychology Self-Help ..."

I don't think I'm a bad person for finding this funny. In fact, I think it's noteworthy enough that you should all take a look.

The rest of that article on that link is probably by Warclaidhm saying the Players Corner wants him to kill himself.

It was kinda funny... in an entirely evil way.

Didn't the rules about telling people to die come into effect because of all that suicide talk?

If I had any photoshopping skills at all, I would make this check out to you.

I laughed, very very very hard. Hooray for Warclaidhm's posting habits and the associated humor.

Oh man. That's.... something.

I really think Warclaidhm does have problems but I think it's 25% problems/ 75% ugly kid just wanting attention online because he doesn't get it in real life.

MangledKitty

I'm actually sort of hoping it's 99% problems. The attention thing is just pathetic.

Sort of like the attention you (and the rest of the people posting about him) are giving him right now?

Bob's girlfriend posts on the PC as MangledKitty. I'm guessing he's just over at her house and too lazy to relog.

It makes you wince so bad to see the posters begging him to stay in contact, to keep posting and stay alive!

They have totally no idea what he's like and how he does it again and again.
I didn't read it to the end, but I'm hoping they looked up more info about him before he really worried them.

Probably not.

They didn't. They're believing him, and you know what, that's fine. However that was back in December, and from the posts I've seen from HarmNone, he doesn't visit that site anymore.

He has problems. What kind, who knows, but the boy does need help. They were willing to overlook the trouble we've seen to help him. He didn't continue going there and that was his loss. It looked like he went there just to vent about PC. Again, that's his problem.

His livejournal has been updated nicely.

His plans include calling 911 while simultaneously stabbing himself in the throat, and even attempting to threaten a police officer's life... by stabbing him with a knife (suicide by cop).

To answer the question of the thread: of course not! Other people's suffering (physical or mental) is always funny. Remember, it's always funny unless it's happening to you.

That's correct. He was offered help and support, but did the same thing he always does. He refused to follow the rules of the site and ended up banned from posting. It's sad, but it's what he does.

I don't find it funny, per se. However, I do feel for the people who post on the various sites that Kevin has victimized with his attention-getting behaviors. It's frustrating for them when someone like Kevin begins his antics with their posting base.

I also find it sad that Kevin apparently lacks the parental support necessary to get his behaviors in line and keep them there.

So someone from our boards posted on there? Who?

And I read Gothie was going to but in the end I couldn't find her post.
Oh and our forums are not , I quote ''For sensitive, thinking people''.

You might be able to find the posts made by SpaceTime that are still in the public areas. You won't, probably, find those that have been moved to the staff area because they were not fitting for the boards as a whole. Gothie's posts may have met the same fate, if they were in answer to SpaceTime's removed posts. I haven't checked to see if hers were moved, as well.

I found it interesting that the doctor basically told him (at least in the still public posts) much of what people here have told him. Granted, the doctor was a lot nicer about it but then he didn't deal with Warclaidhm for years and see the same old shit time after time. And of course, he ended up banning him pretty quickly.

As far as who, from our boards, has posted on those boards, I think that would be up to any individuals who had done so to choose to say, or not say.

I moderate there, so do post there.

I feel bad for him. Kevin's not a bad kid, he just has a lot of problems. People get him going and when he gets mad over it, people just have even more fun with it. Yeah, he brings it on himself. I think if he's looking for help on a psych website for his depression, regardless of whether or not he's still attention seeking, we shouldn't bring it to the PC and make fun of him over it. That's just wrong and unfair.

I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few members of this forum have gone through depression or still are. Kevin's being public about his problems and people drawing attention to it is just what he wants. It's one of his problems and when attention is drawn to him, it seems to just make him worse. He has problems, but leave problems on a separate forum (regardless of it being public or not) on that forum. There's really no need to bring it here.

HarmNone

I agree, in essence, Showal. However, Kevin did victimize these boards with his behaviors, just as he has victimized other boards with those same behaviors.

While I'd love to see the subject never come up again, I know that's not realistic. People don't like to be used, nor do they like to be led down the "garden path", so to speak. If Kevin continues to return to these forums for his "attention fixes", he's bound to be the subject of conversation. We've tried to explain that to him, to no avail. Therefore, much of what happens to Kevin here is his own doing.

I still haven't decided if you are automatically a bad person or not, but these descriptions of the Player's Corner gave me a good chuckle.

Why on earth did you stay as a member at that site for so long? It is a horrible place! Very few of the members there have anything good to say about ANYONE. It is a site where people get to spew their venom with no consequences. There is so much hatred and vengeance there, and not just directed at you. I notice other members there are getting picked apart as well. If any members there are over the age of 20 I would be surprised. I have never read such immature drivel in my life!

A right-minded, fair, decent person could never POSSIBLY feel comfortable at that site. I have never visited there before and I was ready to verbally BLAST EVERYBODY, from the admins on down!

That particular post was aimed at the PC. I've done a bit of repair work with regard to that first impression. We're not here to give support to people like Kevin. That's not the purpose of these boards. That's the purpose of the Psychlink boards.

The Administrator of the Psychlink boards, the other moderators, and some of the posters are aware of who I am here, on these boards. I made that quite clear in my first post there. That was before Dr. Baxter asked if I would assist to moderate the forums. :)

He may be "amazing good at math", but I see his mad writing skillz haven't improved much.

The Kevin Experience is a lot like watching Lisa Kudrow's new show on HBO - The Comeback. It's funny, sad, irritating, and ultimately leaves you feeling uncomfortable for having witnessed it.

Perhaps the funniest thing I've ever read... Kevin giving advice. About... PMS.

Gah. There is no hope. None.

What's even funnier is that the advice that he gave was actually pretty accurate. Heating pad for cramps.

I wonder if those people who were calling us a bunch of savages in October changed their mind a bit in December after the real Kevin showed himself.

Heh. For the most part, they didn't, TRL. That's because most of them never saw Kevin's posts after December. Those posts asploded rather quickly because Kevin couldn't obey the rules of the board. However, I doubt that any of those folks even remember the conversation by this time. ;)

Oh no, a bunch of people I'm never going to meet think I'm mean.

Good thing I still have some Ambien so I can sleep at night.

EDIT: Also, Warclaidhm, if you read this thread, remember this one thing. Women will appreciate it if you go up to them and ask them to massage the place where you hurt yourself falling off your scooter. It shows that you're sensitive.

While Kevinthm was good, he had an allstar supporting cast of strung out hippies telling him about his self worth...

I give it five stars.

I think it's sad that he has depression. It's not a fun thing to go through. But there are things like counselors, doctors, medicines,... even Scientology that can fix these things.

I hope he can live a normal life someday, but I'm not really sure that's possible.

I'm a sensative thoughtful person and I do just fine here. I don't take what people say too seriously... I already know the world is full of assholes and whole asses :P.

On topic... I really don't know War/Kevin or much about him... People who are neglected to crazy stuff to get attention. In a lot of ways I feel nothing more than pity for him and the people he's used to satisfy what he lacks in real life and at home. Therapy is no replacement for a healthy family life... At times I seriously wish my parents had disciplined me more... love and discipline need to find a balance in this kids life...
