After Tayre has his hair done to its foppish conclusion this morning, I was curious as who else has any feature alterations, and what they are. I'll post mine when I find a mirror.

Out of curiosity, is it burnished copper or dark red? Because, you know, the two colors are vastly different. Burnished copper is a mellow, orangey gold, and dark red is well.. the color of the Lotus 340R I will someday own! :D
But yeah, you should get that fixed. If you are going to, I'd vote for burnished copper. I love copper.
Ah.. I thought I should post mine as well, I guess, if I'm gonna critique.
You see Lady Lysistrata Scio.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to be youthful and average height. She has cunning, mismatched grey and black eyes and ivory skin. She has long, lustrous deep scarlet hair that falls nearly to the ground, with a dainty curl at the tips. She has a delicate, refined face and a generous mouth.

You see Maimara Andriatti the Priestess.
She appears to be a Half-Elf Pariah from Ta'Vaalor.

She has a delicately sculpted face, a slender nose and expressive pink lips. She has a waif-like form emphasized with long, slender limbs.
She has a tattooed symbol of Mularos on her ankle, and a faint scar shaped like a triad of intertwined thorns on her neck.

Amazing how you can see those leaves around your waist when you're wearing clothing or armor?
Sorry I don't have a capture, but look at Jinsem sometime if you want to see inconsistency practiced with feature alterations.

It is muy irritating when that happens. I know a couple of people who didn't know their waist/hip tattoos would show and so they got them kind of private for their character (like god-allegiance tattoos..) and suddenly.. they show and everyone can tell that they're fluffy bunny-huggers.

Didn't they take the time to read the sign that's at almost every ink merchant? The one that says this tattoo will be seen at what time do to what's being worn...
Myshel

You see Myshel De'Moi the Muse.
She appears to be a Half-Elf.
She appears to be young. She has haunting deep green eyes and fair skin. She has waist length, wavy golden blonde hair with sharp tendrils arcing over her ears. She has a heart-shaped face, an upturned nose and dimpled cheeks.
She has a tiny red heart tattoo on her neck, and a delicate wild rose tattoo on her thigh.
All my girls have the wild rose tattoo, kind of like a family emblem. I didn't want haunted eyes but they wouldn't give me what I wanted, which in my flaky mind right now I can't remember.

It is strange, but its also strange that you can see peoples armor when their wearing clothes covering their entire body. I was told that it was all changing in GS4 though, to make it more realistic etc.
Vx
I rather think armor covers clothing. I've seen two people on these boards say they think clothing goes under armor but... maybe light leather. But have any of you got a suit of even leather armor? My friend runs leathersmythe.com (go to him, he's AWESOME.. and cheap) and leather can get bulky when it's in armor form. Trust me when I say that you're not going to fit anything like armor under that bodice/shirt/pants/skirt... unless you wish to look seriously deformed and order all your clothing XXL?
StrayRogue
09-29-2003, 12:53 PM
I guess it depends on the armor in question. As you said, leathers probably could be disguised (I'd say up to fulls), beyond that they could be disguised variously. I mean a chain shirt isn't terribly bulky <insert shameless LotR example here>.

Layered clothing should take care of alot of the 'such and such is covering such and such' issues.
Caramia
09-29-2003, 04:32 PM
Most armor covers clothing, with a layer of padding attached, or separate and shaped like shirts or pants.
The "mithril" chainmail Frodo is wearing was exceedingly light and thin, not typical for normal chainmail, and probably not the same properties of Elanthian mithril.
He wore it under his shirt and tunic so as to not draw attention to himself, because according to the book it was covered with precious gems as well, and worth more than the entire Shire. He also wore it over leather in the book.
I'm betting all armors will be worn over clothing, and hoping whatever armor doesn't cover (arms or legs in some cases) will be able to show through when you look at someone.

And I wish that those women silly enough to design armor with very low-cut necklines or cut-outs would be more prone to armor breakage, rips, tears, and punctures in exposed places.
If you want something sexy, design it to be a corselet, like Xena wore. Low-cut brigandine is just stupid.
One of my characters...
You see the cutest sorceress ever (heh!).
She appears to be a Half-Elf Pariah from Ta'Illistim.
She appears to be mature. She has perceptive, glacier blue eyes and pale, porcelain skin. She has long, black hair that falls softly to the small of her back. She has a slightly upturned nose and sweeping, almost regal cheekbones. Her ears are small and slightly pointed, the only betrayal of an impure bloodline.
She has a symbol of Voln tattoo on her finger, and a tiny ruby heart tattoo on her neck.
KIA.

You see Lady Alixi Cheysu.
She appears to be a Giantman.
She appears to be youthful and very tall. She has watchful moss green eyes and flawless milky-white skin. She has floor-length, raven black hair artfully braided in a complex arrangement that slides over her graceful shoulders. She has the tiniest point to the tips of her ears, a small smattering of freckles across her nose and high cheekbones that emphasize her delicate laugh lines. She has an elegant stature and a beautiful trim figure.

I hate all you women with hair past your ass. How do you get around (and better yet!, fight!) with hair down to your feet or ass? AND as a big fan of long hair, how come women don't have longer hair IRL?
You gag over eyes yet fawn over your 6 foot long tresses.
Yeah, I'm bitching.

Mine is to my waist in, and in real life is halfway down my back right now..
I miss it, it used to be down to my waist in real life too, and in healthy condition.:-(
I hate short hair now..I cut it once really short, never again.

Wasn't brigandine named after brigands who wore it under clothing to disguise themselves? I thought I read that somewhere. Of course, we all know brigands don't really care how bulky they look.

Sort off. It is designed to look like clothing.
Hm... for the hair question, I picture it as being braided and bound. For one character of mine, she has hair in a really long, thick braid. In her tribe, all women wear their hair like that, as a last line of defense. Women of that tribe are never without a weapon when they have their braids.
Heh, I stole that from a Jane Yolen book.
Anyway, yeah. I wish there were a way to temporarily change the style our hair is worn in, because then I can put it into a braid and have it wound around the neck, or put up in a bun, or something.
As an aside, I really like long hair on girls in real life. I like playing with it. My own hair is only just past my shoulders, though, 'cause I don't have the patience to grow it out. Hm, come to think of it, I like really short hair on girls too, if they have the head and facial structure for it. It just depends on the girl.

He is holding a Wehnimer's promissory note in his right hand and a curved single-edged sword in his left hand.
He is wearing a crystal amulet, a long-sleeved loose black cotton shirt with a wide neckline, a black golvern-studded satchel, a black krodera buckled belt, some silver buttoned black trousers, and a pair of tall black riding boots.
Well, I'd like to compliment your incredibly impeccable taste ('cause that shirt you're wearing is one of my old alters!) Heh, yeah he's hot... I see you got the tear moved too! Nice.
StrayRogue

Yeah, the shirt is hot. Aslong as Evelith creams in her jeans, I don't care :P
Would have liked a scabbard or a mask of somesuch, but my lockers are packed full of weapons and crap. Ah well.
I have a narrow-eyed expressionless facemask, if you want it.

I was thinking more of a black eye mask or some such, something you'd wear in a masquerade. Ah well thanks for the offer though ;)

You see Bovese Nielle the Healer.
She appears to be a Sylvankind.
She appears to be past her prime and shorter than average. She has close-set amber eyes and pasty white skin. She has long, ginger hair worn in a bun. She has a round face, a button nose and heavy jowls. She has blunt, sausage-like fingers and an overly bloated figure.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a patched cotton headscarf, a frayed cotton rucksack, a sand-hued light wool cloak, a dark bronze cockroach pin, a shapeless burlap dress, a dusty white ingredients satchel, and some frayed twine sandals.
Posted with clothing as it really helps .. erm .. accentuate the look. I really need to get her to 20 sometime so she can be a 'Nurse'. I always have an image of Juliet's nurse in the back of my mind.

Heh, the one that was likened to a huge white sail because of her girth and her wearing white? That's nice and original!

Short hair on girls rules. Just has to be long enough to get my fingers through it (shoulder length is great and hitting the chin/ear line is sweet too) I love short hair on women but like I said there has to be something to play with and hold on too
