Change dodge to 2x and shield to 1x.

Your stats look fine. Not stellar, but definitely doable.

I wouldn't bother 2x'ing in shield. Better off doing 2x dodge and 1.5x shield, or even 2x dodge and 1x shield and saving points for something else. I'm also not sure exactly how useful singling in pickpocketing is now. And there's no reason you need that much scroll/MIU use early on.

I was advised that at least 1X in pickpocket helps you spot others picking your pocket.

Keep other pickpockets out by closing containers, staying hidden or in areas with very small crowds.

Save those points for something useful.

You're a rogue. Any pickpocket worth a damn won't be stealing from you anyway.

Also I was advised that Arcane Symbols improved your ability to disarm scarabs. If I have the extra points I cannot see how it would hurt.

Why not. There are a few who tend to leave their containers open because of this thought. They're the best targets.

"Pickpocket puts a diamond, that he got out of no where, in his cloak.

steal pickpocket cloak

You reach into Pickpocket's cloak and pull out a diamond."

hide... put the item away, close your container, and continue.

This is my rogue at a brand new 73 trainings... his skills except for a few that were changed with the new level were optimalized for 72 trains. I hope to add more physical training and some arcane symbols (cheapest magical ranks I can get) to allow for spells in restricted areas.

How do you do with only 1x dodge, Ganalon.

Gan

When I do get hit, the mbp greatly reduces any harsh effects of the blow. I'm like a walking tank, only more mobile, agile, and hostile.

If I could be guaranteed to dodge 100% of the swings that were directed towards me by fully training in dodge then I would reduce armor training back to brig and full train in dodge. But realistically, because hunting is my primary focus, I know that I'm going to get hit. So my aim is more reactive than proactive given the limits of a viable proactive solution.

Edited to add:
Hiding and ambushing is a primary tactic used, thus the only time I really get his is when I take on 2 or 3 in a room. If I feel the threat factor is really high I'll use cman silentstrike to reduce the threat equation before entering into melee combat.

You realize that by only 1xing Dodge and wearing MBP you're effectively only .8x in Dodge, right?

Gan

Yea, someone had mentioned to me that my ability to dodge would be reduced, I had just never seen an actual number.

I'm totally happy sacrificing .2 of dodge in order to wear metal. I tried the brig route when the armor changes were announced and got really tooled trying to hunt thus I have no intentions on going back to leather based armor.

Bah, I know you explained silentstrike to me before Ganalon, but do it again? From that reply it made me think you could swing at a critter without the other critters noticing? Thats pretty damn cool...

Jonty

You can swing without becoming unhidden.
