Good for you... Honestly I prefer silver myself... the only thing good about gold IMO is it doesn't tarnish... white gold and platinum are nice... Though I think cost of rings shouldn't be an issue for people too much... maturity love and trust are very important... oh and fun!!!

Having a girlfriend or not has no bearing on seeing a guy that's whipped. You may yourself be the most whipped man in the world and not see it at all, but the second another guy is whipped, you point and laugh... it's sad really. The reason I believe this has more to do with other threads than this one, but there are a few reasons. One of which is his change in attitude when talking to you as compared to anyone else, among many other things. Not saying I'm right, or that it even matters. Being whipped is fine as long as you're happy, and hell, i've been whipped enough to know.

I know being whipped is fine. But, a lot of people who have said it, are saying "Oh it's going to go down hill now" and other crap. When really, it's all for laughs and having fun. Obviously a few people do not know about jokes and teasing and assume, she has him whipped, let's tell him about it over and over again and see if it effects anything!
Being whipped takes one to be in more control/power. I do not believe Alex has more power over me or, I over him.
His change in attitude could merely be because he knows me in person.

I don't know Alex's girlfriend, nor will I pretend to. However, I think it's pretty clear there's a reason that no one else brings anyone they're close to to these boards. These boards, like many others, are a place for us to anonymously (for the most part) express our views, opinions, etc.. As many people have expressed, it's pretty dumb to bring your significant other, a relative, and so on, to a place like this.
Not only does it effect you, but it effects everyone else who posts here when you use these boards as a public Instant Messaging system, be it friendly banter or couple's bitching.
I'm sure Julie is a great girl and all that, but frankly I'd rather not see her and Alex turn this board into a personal playground (which they seem to be attempting to do in the 24 hours I didn't read the boards). I'm pretty not-entertained with the boards lately as it is, and having a couple 15 year olds being themselves around here doesn't exactly add to the quality of this place.
In short, Alex is stupid for inviting her here. Again, nothing against her at all. He's just stupid.

I wouldn't suggest to someone having a gf/bf on here unless they were mature enough to handle it (both parties).
Sorry, 15 is not mature enough, in my eyes.

The mere fact that you played the "age correlates with maturity" card makes your post completely invalid. :(

Age plays a factor with being mature, yes.
You can't sit there and say a 10 year old is mature, or a 2 year old.
It's not the end-all decision, but it plays a role.

Why not?

Age does correlate with maturity, to an extent. A 10 year old can be mature FOR HIS/HER AGE, but they can't be as mature as, say, a 25 year old. Mentally mature, emotionally mature, whatever. It's just not possible.
PS- We're all off topic hardcore.

A really mature 10 year old can be as mature as a really immature 25 year old, though. But the ageists will choose the 25 year old because they're older.

Maturity is largely based on life experiences, IMHO. I'm pretty sure you can't have 25 years of life experience in 10 years.

That's certainly true, but then you have to consider what areas one has to be mature in when posting on a forum. All that's really necessary is common courtesy, knowing when to stfu, and knowing right from wrong.

What I was originally talking about was being mature enough to handle what's said in these posts by someone you like or are dating, etc.
Not everyone comes here to be as they are in real life, but they see it as a place to "let their hair down".
Like MK said previously, there were a lot of questions that were asked by her about your previous posts.
Others who have chimed in stating they'd never bring their loved one in to read these posts, are saying so for this reason (among others). There'd be too many questions. Needless questions.

You really can't determine that by age more so than you can't determine general maturity. That shouldn't even be a concern, especially to someone that isn't part of the relationship in discussion.
<<Not everyone comes here to be as they are in real life, but they see it as a place to "let their hair down".>>
And it will continue to be that place for me. Nobody is going to change that, and it doesn't affect the forum that my girlfriend happens to be an active poster.
<<Like MK said previously, there were a lot of questions that were asked by her about your previous posts.>>
Yes, asked to me, and me alone. They were settled. Unless you're trying to save my relationship, this entire debate has no point. If you're trying to save my relationship, this entire debate has no point. I can handle any problems that arise.
<<Others who have chimed in stating they'd never bring their loved one in to read these posts, are saying so for this reason (among others). There'd be too many questions. Needless questions.>>
That's our problem, not yours.

To be honest it really shouldn't matter so long as they dont make it into their playground as tayre put it. Bob is a well established member of the boards and of GS itself. I didn't get a chance to read the boards last night but up to the time I left work they were still under control. Until they prove otherwise to me then there is no problem in my eyes.
I dont think I would ever bring someone I cared about to this place though.

Never said it was my problem, nor did I say I was trying to "save your relationship" as you put it. Which can be read into.
You know, I was commenting about what MK said. It was a statement, without making heads or tails of it. If you don't like people bringing up what's said, that's your problem.
Thanks for finally getting an attitude about what others have also said, and directing that pent up anger at me. Feel better?

You guy's act as if im posting all over the place. When im only posting in the social and off topic, last I checked, I was pretty much doing what everyone else was. That's discussing things. It just so happened that a few people did not agree to certain things. And yes, there may have been some arguements, but it's not like "OMG, lets piss off this member on purpose!" I have come to the conclusion, everyone here argues with the other, for god knows why. They say that maturity is a factor, basically all I have encountered act pretty immature. Last I saw, adults don't pick eachother apart. I have been welcomed by staff members and moderators, so until they tell me to leave. Then well, I will be staying.

Anything I said to you was brought upon you by yourself, no matter how much you want to believe that someone else is the cause of me replying to you. I don't know what point you're trying to prove, so I'm exploring all of the possibilities. One is that you think it will have a negative impact on the Players' Corner. That is untrue. Another is that you think it will have a negative impact on me. That is untrue. Another is that you think it will have a negative impact on her. That is nobody's concern but hers. The last is that you think it will have a negative impact on both of us. That is nobody's concern but ours.
Either you have a point or you're posting for absolutely no reason. In both instances, it's useless. In the event that I'm misreading you, I suggest you make it clearer what you're trying to say. Obviously, I can't figure it out.

Maybe you need to reread above.
It was my learned advice about this msg. board.
If you feel the need to take the fact that I said 15 to heart, it's your choice.
Relationships require maturity on both parts (no this is not directed at anyone).
And as far as pointless or unnecessary posts, the whole msg. board reeks of them. I rarely do so.

Honestly, I couldn't understand what you were trying to say in that post.

At the end of the day, anyone and everyone is welcome to post here, while they are sticking to our ToS. So that includes any of our significant (or insignificant!) others. We shouldn't constantly try to chase away new members.
It would also be wise for new members to refrain from making blanket generalisations about everyone who posts here. We have posters with a wide range of maturity levels, regardless of age. Let me assure you of one thing though, adults can, and do 'pick each other apart' quite regularly. It is not an activity strictly limited to the younger generation.
So, to state the glaringly obvious: If a new poster welcomes us, we will usually welcome said new poster. I hope you enjoy posting here MK.

One measly little sentence!
Silly boy.
Edited to add: Miss X posted while I was typing away, so didn't see it until now.
MK - We wuv each other here! At the end of the day, we all do a group hug and pat each other on the behind for a job well done.
Why, just yesterday we had an impromtu marriage between Drayal and Harmnone!
Oh, and the welcome committee forgot to mention you should put Miss X on your buddy list. :saint: She's a great friend to have listed!

The great part about these boards is that everyone has their own opinions views. We may argue and bicker while here but for the most part there are very few that dislike each other. We argue because its amusing and passes time. I like to stir the pot when given the chance. I may not have a feeling one way or the other on a topic but for the entertainment that comes out of it its worth posting something against the views of the majority.
Also most of us have been posting here for a few years. Over time people become more comfortable with each other so there are times when we all act immature but its mostly just people fooling around with friends. In the end there are very few hard feelings.

Welcome MK, good luck to you and Bob.
I'm just gonna say that I agree somewhat with both parties, maturity shouldn't be entirely age based - there are 25 year old idiots who never worked or had a responsibility in their life, and I know some 15 year olds who had a parent die and are more responsible/mature.
However, life experiences are a contributing factor for maturity. You see mature, I'll treat you as such till you prove otherwise, and I hope things go well.
No one I know's first relationship turned out to be their last...maybe you'll be the first! good luck!
And uh...in hindsight I feel real uncomfortable talking about this, so I won't be posting in this thread anymore.
