Could we PLEASE do Maraudon. I am at the point where I am going to drop the quests so I can pick up others.

Yeah...

So how many people need to do it and ALL the quests (not just the bosses run/Princess quest)?

If it's just a boss run, I'll go tonight. But if everyone needs all the quests, I may not be the best guide (Assuming atleast 3 of Silthar, Deconite, Azzul, and Kagg need to go). You'd need a healer and a tank in there somewhere.

Yea.. I don't think I ever did the whole quest thing there.. just the bosses.

I did all the quests. You and Dar took me through. But three rogues, a warlock, and a hunter don't stand a chance there. =)

So I finally got a chance to run UBRS last night. 15 man raid, it was a blast. Illyous, Chuch, Rynaw, Juewl, Isorizblade, Blandes and me and some randoms we gathered together. Alot harder than I thought it would be, even with 15 (Actually, our mage disco'd halfway through and never came back...but he was fucking awful anyways). We wiped once when Blandesmon pulled too early, very few deaths otherwise.

The priest and warlock chest set pieces dropped, as well as Valor shoulders that Blandesmon wanted...ofcourse someone invited some fuckstain warrior at the last second (while we were in the process of inviting Keilum) and the lvl 59 warrior that didn't do a damn thing the entire instance beat out Blandesmon for the shoulders. Then proceeded to yell W00T W00T! I OWN YOU!!! and do the /train repeatedly. Until Blandesmon told him to "Lick my fucking balls you nub, you're lucky you're here." I told him we shoulda booted him before the run started, heh. He apologized then, guess he didn't realize he'd beat out Blandes on the roll.

I replaced my green shoulders, that made me happy. They were going right back to run it a second time, but it was too late for me (Takes about 2 hours). Apparently it's Victoria Day in Canada, and they're all off (I think all of the Elysium Outlaws are Canadians).

Illyous (the Elysium guildmaster) is a really cool guy. I spoke with him alot. He said he did about 30 stealth runs through LBRS before putting together the key for UBRS. Isoriz had asked me well before the run if I'd ever be interested in stealth running it, and Akumaru (druid) actually asked me if I was interested in stealth running it WHILE I was on my way there. Sooooo...Sade, we will be doing stealth runs (I'll recruit Isoriz and Akumaru and we'll need to find a 3rd rogue) on LBRS until you and Aku get your set shoulders, and I put together my damn UBRS key. Not sure what Isoriz wanted there (possibly the SC gloves), but I heard you can do a full boss stealth run through the place in under 40 minutes. We should look into this tonight.

Yeah cool!!!!

I am so up for that.

We going to be able to do the ogre boss though?

I read the lore or something about that ogre boss one again, and apparently if you use the previous ogre's head on the ogres that attack at the pike part, it helps to kill them. You know anything about that?

I doubt we'll be able to kill him, (as I haven't yet). The first ogre boss (that has one of the key parts) we will kill.

I've heard he's hard enough to kill with a 5 man group, nevermind a nerfed one without a tank.

I could use some health potion if anyone has extra or makes them for ranks and just lockers them.

I forget who sent me a ton of them last week, but it was really helpful.

Sinax, perhaps? I know I sent him an ass ton of low level herbs.

Viktor sent me a pile of them. Its great cause for some reason I can't get the damn critters to drop any lately.

Littlefang, who might get a title this week shes been such a pain to the alliance this week. Heh

Ok changed my profile since post count disappeared. Least now I can be my character hehehe.

If anyone gets a nice two-handed axe that a 33-40 can use let me know. I did get a nicer gun than my peashooter but it was soulbound so couldn't pass it on.

Also looking for ways to get gold. I have like 24g right now but want to be able to get my mount if I ever get old enough Heheh. How does everyone else farm gold? Or do you sell things at the AH? Just wondering.

Here's a dumb little trick I've tried to pass on to others, but I don't think anyone takes advantage of...

The recipe for the fire protection potion and shadow protection potions are both limited in sales (ie, only one for sale at a time, they respawn at the NPC vendor every 30min-1hour).

They sell for like 10s a piece, but you can easily get 3g+ for the shadow protection, and ~5g for the fire protection.

The fire protection potion is for sale upstairs in the inn in Sun Rock, the shadow protection is for sale by a vendor near the steps in the inn of Tarren Mill.

Just log out in Sun Rock every day and hopefully when you log back in one will be available. An easy way to make 10-20g in a week with basically zero effort.

There's probably other limited vendor items you could also pick up and sell for markups, but those are the only ones I ever did it with.

Thanks! I will be taking advantage of it. I would love to get my mount at 40 and actually have enough left over to train.

By sale you mean sell to NPC or AH it all?

I've been putting stuff up on AH now that I'm getting up there in level, but before I just NPC'd everything since it was pretty much garbage.

Always try the AH first. And always go ahead and over price things like recipes or herbs, because it costs so little to put them up for sale in the first place.

Green items (IMHO), you want to start them selling for a little more than the base, with a buyout x2-x5 as much, depending on what you thing the item is worth. (ie, I know that a decent 'of the monkey' would be very usuable to a rogue, so I'd price it a little higher. As opposed to a piece of leather that is +SPI/+INT, which I'd see less people getting use out of.)

I was amazed on how well the advanced target dummies sold in the AH. Kinda like mithril spurs the first time I put them there.

Now of course the market is flooded. :(

Parkbandit
05-23-2005, 05:46 PM
And speaking of target dummies.. god damn engineering has alot of useful shit.

Last night, I was in Sun Rock.. kicking ass and taking names. I had a old warrior that showed up as a skull.. so at least 10 levels above me. He was trying to chase me down on his mount... so I stopped and threw a bomb towards him. Poof. He was stunned for 6 seconds and hurt for 300 damage. I ended up sprinting and using vanish.. poor bastard had no chance.

I also used a number of sheep last night for the first time. They don't do much.. 150ish damage wise.. but they are funny as shit to watch. I had my sheep chasing a sprinting rogue last night.. the rogue went around this steep mountain and my sheep just climbed the thing and came down on the other side to get him. Was funny as shit.

I'll work on some items this week that will do the fighting for me... like a pet. I think I can make a dragonkin thing. 60 minute cooldown sucks.. but it should be fun anyways.

For all you engineers out there (Cay and Viktor I think are the others) which items do you most often use?

Nieninque
05-23-2005, 05:48 PM
I know Cay made the goblin death ray or something like that
He loves it
cant remember what else but he was raving about another thing as well

I use my goblin mortar all the time. It pisses the hell out of the alliance at TM.

Other than that I am waiting till 260 skill to make a dragonling or whatever.

I think Stabbed is at cap right now as far as learning engineering stuff.. which is probably like 220. I think there is already something available to him to create that will fight for him. I also saw a dragonkin recipe in the AH last night that I think he could use.

For anybody who wants it, and since you all play on a different server than I do. This isn't all of them, and the vendor prices are mostly same faction, so they may vary a bit.

I'm not sure if everyone noticed, but Silthar got another priest to join our guild. His name is Bloodlegion, and he was level 55 as of last night. He joined Keilum and I for a little while in Un'Goro while farming for devilsaurs, herbs, and Alliance (Kagg, I sent you 9 more leathers to make Silthar the leggings when he can wear them).

He also brought a friend into the guild, I believe her name is Fainazeeri (may have the spelling slightly off.) She's a lvl 38 mage, and seems very friendly.

I mentioned to her if she needed runecloth bags made, to mention it to Sade or Azzul, so if you need more to make her some Sade, let me know and I'll get it tonight.

She also asked what it takes to move up in ranks in our guild...and I really didn't have an answer. I said in general, time spent playing, helping other guild mates, levels gained, etc. Of course, Toj replied with "Why am I still the lowest level then?" Of course, the reply to that was Viksorloc was responsible for that. I'm thinking we should atleast have some loose guidelines as to how to move up in ranks as we keep adding more and more people from outside the PC. Also, if you're going to joke around and demote someone, make sure you go back and put them back at their past level as soon as possible.

Since we've already got like 8-10 officers, I'm thinking from now on the first requirement to become an officer is to reach level 60 and have a desire to become an officer (ie, some of the new folks like Deconite, Bloodlegion, or Lyeraof, if they reach 60 and don't ask, don't just immediately promote them, let them remain in the guild for awhile longer before bringing it up.)

Anyone have anything to add?

Yeah I could do with a bunch of runecloth...need to make some for:

Silthar
Hadiar
Lefallah
Grolock
and anyone else who hasnt told me yet

Are any of our level 60s going to come out of hibernation this weekend? I've given up on Bayne, useless cow. Sade, any chance of some stealth run LBRS this weekend?

I'd REALLY like to get that UBRS key put together...

Really, all of you need to get through LBRS anyways for various quests, we may as well finish it this weekend. Some of the quest rewards are VERY nice for the Warlord's Command quest, then the "Kill Rend Blackhand" that follows (there's 2% chance to crit trinket, a 180 armor + 1% to dodge trinket, and some +% to crit with a spell trinket to choose from).

Some of the quest rewards are VERY nice for the Warlord's Command quest, then the "Kill Rend Blackhand" that follows (there's 2% chance to crit trinket, a 180 armor + 1% to dodge trinket, and some +% to crit with a spell trinket to choose from).

Don't give up on Bayne little trooper. I'm just having a fucking awesome time with Stabbed.. that playing Bayne sucks for me. I'll definately do an LBRS run if you like.. but obviously not a stealth run :P

I'm hoping to get out of here today by 3pm and have the house to myself for about 4-5 hours. I'd like to just powerhunt the fucking shit out of Stabbed for that time period.. then I'll do something later on with you with Bayne.

I'd actually still like to take another run through BRD and hopefully get the Ghostshroud headpiece. Does anyone still need the Core Attunement quest done?

edit: Upon further review...I'd be just as happy with the Shadowcraft piece...but I'd still run BRD just to get the last couple stupid quests done and beat the emperor in a 5 man group.

I have no interest in BRD unless it was to help out a fellow guildie. The equipment there is pretty useless to me. I would rather do an older 5 man instance and hopefully get some good gear upgrades.

Well..I think you need to gain some focus and better gear before we go and try and 5 man Strath or Scholo.

DM on the other hand, we should be able to 5 man pretty easily.

I don't think there is any drops in BRD that will upgrade too much of my stuff as it is. BRD was dropping shit that was for level 52-54ish.. which all of my stuff typically is.

If DM is older.. then let's hit that tonight. I would LOVE to get a really good one handed axe to swing around. Swinging around a blue 49 is getting embarrassing.

For cash, keep an eye on grey items that critters regularly drop. Check which ones are worth a decent amount of silver.

Then grind on those critters for a while. I've come away with over 5g worth of greys before.

Grrr...post got deleted cuz my internet went down for a second. Anyways...

I did DM North with a really good group. I'm talking pro-champ level. Did a full tribute run in under an hour, with not a single prop needed to avoid killing the servants. It does require a hunter and a very skilled rogue (moi).

I'd love to do DM west, the Bracers of the Eclipse drop there...which are pretty much the best non-epic bracers for a rogue available.

This drops from the same boss...Bayne...I'm looking in your direction:

Timeworn Mace
Binds when picked up
One-Hand Mace
62 - 117 Damage Speed 2.20
(40.7 damage per second)
120 Armor
+7 Strength
+11 Stamina
Requires Level 57

He drops the heartseeker recipe, which is totally sweet.

Saw it, rolled on it, lost it. Woulda probably had to pass it anyways cuz there was a couple weaponsmiths in the raid group.

He can be stunlocked, so he can be stealth runned. The drop rate isn't too low on it.

I'd like to get a Scarlet Side Stratholme run or two done this weeked. I need one Righteous Orb for a Crusader Enchant, and I'm pretty sure Keilum needs two for the enchant on his Reaper.

Only one item I could really use on that side (Wyrmtongue Shoulders), but there's plenty of drops the rest of you could use. (Some good mail items, some decent cloaks for any magic user, rogue stuff for Silthar).

Gift of the Elven Magi
Binds when picked up
One-Hand Dagger
43 - 81 Damage Speed 1.50
(41.3 damage per second)
+5 Stamina
+10 Intellect
+6 Spirit
(For Bayne?)

Crown of Tyranny
Binds when picked up
Head Mail
301 Armor
+20 Stamina
-10 Spirit
Durability 70 / 70
Requires Level 58
Equip: +40 Attack Power.
Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.
(For Kagg?)

Sooooo...can we put something together, and try and make it 10 of us? Everyone 55+ should be able to go. It's not a difficult place, provided you don't blindly run ahead or peak around corners when people aren't ready (you tend to aggro groups of mobs at a time here). BAYNE YOU FAT COW STAND IN THE BACK OF THE PACK.

So...Alorg, Keilum, Silthar, Bayne, Dar, Sade, Kagg, Azzul...and two more...Bloodlegion? Hell, we could probably do it with 8, but a priest would be nice.

Anyone have a preference in time? (The run should take around ~2 hours) It's a sin Keilum's had a Reaper for two weeks now and there's no enchant on it yet.

Also, I think everyone's aware but Porgan is a buddy of mine I convinced to finally get the game. He's already hopelessly addicted after two days, and his cow shaman is ~14 or so. I've known him since I was like 6. He said his fiance is going to be pissed at me for getting him hooked. I told him that's great news, her and my girlfriend can call each other and each have someone to bitch about it to.

Anyways, he may be a little bit shy...or he may not have even figured out how to change the various chat channels in game yet...so feel free to say hello or offer advice.

Sade, I'll send some Runecloth for bags for him as soon as I drag my ass out of BG (I've been using all mine on bandages). Or if you have any old mageweave or something around, I'd appreciate you sending it to him. He probably won't ask for anything until he gets familiar with the guild. I think he finally made it out of Mulgore and into the Barrens yesterday, so if anyone wants to quest with him, I'm sure he'd be up for it.

I'm also working on a Beaststalker set. So far I've got the belt and bracers, so if anyone gets it in a drop and doesn't want it ... I'll buy it for a fair price.

Lastly, if anyone needs leather/mail armor ... let me know. If I have the ingredients, I'm more than happy to make it right then in there. If you have the ingredients, you don't have to wait for me to farm.

The odds of us getting 10 BF members is slim (that's with everyone attending, and Bloodlegion).

I was talking to Scynd for awhile last night, and he suggested our guilds get together for instance raids. I'm sure a couple of you remember that priest Ungadingo that we grouped with a few times in Maraudon and ST. He's also one of the core members of Brotherhood of the Beast.

I think it's a great idea, I've known Scynd for awhile, Unga is a good guy, and from what I know, they're a more serious adult type guild.

It would be nice to have trusted people to go to UBRS with (Scynd also needs only one gem to finish his key.)

Thoughts?

edit: So, I think we could fill the last few spots with Scynd and a couple people from his guild.

Here's a request ... level up people so we can start doing 10 man groups in Warsong.

The HKs are nice, but there's no real teamwork in most groups.

In each run that I've been in, on the losing team that is, everyone wanted to grab the flag or just get HKs ... which is fine. No one wants to play D.

In every winning group I've been in, people have been willing to play D.

With a 10 man guild group, we can switch up to give everyone a chance.

It makes me laugh that Toj either:

a) knows which page various things are on in his WoW book off by heart.... or

b) is sat there with his WoW book next to him so he can impress people with his knowledge.

---------------------

You cant attack people from your own faction except in duels or in the Gubarashi Arena (which is a free-for-all place in Stranglethorn Vale).
You can only attack members of the other faction if they are flagged for PvP, which on a PvP server is:
a) if they are in contested or enemy territory, or have been in the last five minutes.
b) they have attacked a flagged member of the opposite faction whilst in their own territory
c) they have helped a member of their own faction who is flagged and in their own territory (i.e. healed or rezzed).
d) they have typed "PvP on" whilst in their own territory

i dont remember exactly what level you start training at but it is not at the beginning.

also you can change training at any time for a fee that goes up with each change

Beware incoming wall of text!

Well, there are plenty of fun classes to play. I don't know how much, if any, game documentation you've read, but really the only way you can customize your character in this game is:
a) initial setup for your race and look
b) armor, weapons, trinkets
c) Class (ie. shaman) and profession (ie. blacksmith)
d) TALENT BUILD

As a shaman, you can spend talent points to gain the ability to use 2 handed weapons. Unfortunately, this means that there are some abilities that you might not be able to gain -- for example you'd have to choose (assuming you learn the ability to use 2 handed axes) between gaining the ability to instantly heal yourself, or gaining the ability to have all of your magical crits do double the damage--but not both.

I think those last 2 abilities are better than dealing more melee damage (which also means you are taking more melee damage since you have no shield).

Just some food for thought.

I kite too, but I will mix up a little melee (using my more powerful melee skills) before wing clipping and taking off.

Not saying I can't be beat, but one on one, near like-level, when we both saw eachother from afar, I've never lost since being over like level 25.

In melee I do more damage more quickly as well as often stunning. I guess hunters can melee well against other classes bar warrior/rogue/shaman, but they definately aren't suited to it in my opinion.

Well well well well.. it's about damn time Anticor.

As for what character to play? Just pick the ones you think you might enjoy and try them all out. You can get from 1-10 in a couple days with no difficulty at all. Read up on them and visit the boards.

I got Bayne, a tauren shaman, to level 60.. but find very little joy in playing him anymore. I enjoy the game about 100x as much as Stabbed, the undead rogue. I bet I would also enjoy playing a hunter and even a mage.

Disengage, ice trap, heal, mark, aimed, concussive, kite ... repeat. Sadly, it was an alliance hunter.

I've said it before, with hunters it's all in who gets the drop first and how fast they can react. Ambushes are easier to escape with scatter shot. It gives you enough time gain some distance and prepare.

When was this? I barely logged on today.

I did duel a Horde hunter that challenged me last night. I think Dar saw it. I had to wait til the pansey moved just far enough away from his icetrap before I cheapshotted him.

I rolled him...and I had no poisons, and the only cooldown was cold blood. Poor fella.

And if this happened in BG yesterday, than it doesn't count. I blindly charge at hunters in BG expecting backup (and the fucking "You're in combat." bug doesn't let me re-stealth 50% of the time), or them not to have enough time to target me before I get in close and unleash hell on them.

No you can't drop them while in combat at later levels.

Dear Dippyredarded...

If I have told you once.. I have told you 345 times.. Bayne can only manufacture MAIN HANDED swords. This means that you lose the ability to use backstab and ambush.

If you don't care, then you should be using 2 swords instead of a sword and a dagger.

Umm, you can take the following as you will :

Punked (my undead rogue) started with two daggers. I switched to a sword/dagger combo when I picked up cheapshot. While your SS do a sum more damage, the lack of backstab and ambush hurts. I went back to 2 daggers after 5 or so levels of sword/dagger, and I've been owning EVERYTHING in sight now with them.

Last night I managed to work around and kill 2 mages, a hunter, and a paladin in BG before I got killed. I never would have been able to do it with the sword.

The patch was supposed to deal with switching trinkets and armor in duels. You can't do that in normal PvE situations and it was supposed to be fixed with duels too. Nothing to do with weapon switching, and I'm not sure if it's been implemented or not with that last patch.

So before I start messing around Stray.. you need 3 swords and 1 dagger for this to work properly? What if I am fine with my off hand weapon as is and just want to switch out the dagger for another sword?

So this is how I envision my macro to work.

In stealth, I have dagger and sword. I initiate the attack with ambush and then hit the macro button to change the dagger to a sword. SS the hell out of the target and evis. I then hit vanish and hit the macro key to re-equip my dagger and start all over again.

That will work with the above mentioned macro?

StrayRogue

You just need four weapons. Put the two you wish to swap with in the top left hand corner of your last bag. I also have a bandage script to. That is a small addon though that I'd have to send. However it works for all sorts of things like scrolls, potions etc.

The script is good.. but for me, I simply need to switch one weapon.. my main handed one. I would rather carry around 3 weapons instead of 4. I'll u2u my macro to see if that will work.

Who's going to be around a bit this weekend? I was sick nearly all week, so I probably won't be doing much of anything but further recovery.

Do you have polymorph yet (or frost nova, or any other useful mage spells)? You're definately welcome at the planned raid tomorrow night!

But I've been searching for ANYTHING to cure my boredom so I'm down for it.

Was that the easiest boss fight ever last night or what?

I don't even remember seeing the Cannon master, all I know is two people are attacking him so I sprint over and join. Did anyone even fire the cannons?

Every time I go there it's usually "Okay, you do cannons, I'll do the second round. Someone do this, spam AoE here, let tank gain aggro, etc etc etc."

That fight was over before it started.

Adds +100 STR for I think 15 seconds (which is +100ATK for a rogue), and heals for approx. 100 health.

Us varsity guys need to get me one last gem from LBRS so you JV'ers can join in on the UBRS raids in a couple weeks.

This is an extremely difficult key to make (probably about a dozen on the Horde side) and I'm only 1 part away from completing it (and it's the easiest to attain gem).

Bayne...you gonna be around tonight? Kagg? I'm already counting on Silthar and Keilum. Odds are there won't be any good loot for those not of the warrior, druid, or priest class, as we'd only be killing the first boss repeatedly for the gem I need. (And his loot list contains only things for those classes, and a two handed mace as well).

No dipshit.. BUT I can make "The Shatterer" for you.. (I think that's what it's called)

It's a mid level 40 one handed mace that disarms on proc. It's a damn fine mace. I think I need some serious materials for it though we could farm for.

The mallet is to get the Big ass boss to come out inside Zul. The reward for killing him is a carrot on a stick which makes you ride faster on a mount.

Not sure I will be on today.. depends when I get the fuck out of here. But you can go on Thot and look up the materials. I'll need to farm for mithril ore.. fucking Stabbed is using it like mad to get engineering ranks. Little bastard.

That first fight, I could have won it if I put up my shield, relying on my melee to finish you off. I neglected to remember that rogues had combo points and finishing moves during that time, and met my demise.

The 2nd fight, I just wanted to MC you, and when that failed, I just stood still. I was not stunned at all.

Well, it's been discussed and pretty much agreed upon for nearly a week now. We may as well proceed and get everyone in on the same guild channel. Also, we need to move forward with other things like figuring out how many members we have, what professions people are, ranks within the guild, etc.

It would be nice to storm UBRS all under the same tag.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

I’ve announced the merger officially and plan to promote my alt for now to keep the BotB name for whatever reason, and encourage you to do the same.

Forming the new guild will seem less permanent for the people whom are still uncomfortable with the merger. This will give you the assurance that if you are ever unhappy, you can simply return to your old tag.

I’m keeping a positive attitude and really think this will be a success. :D

Ya know...he was around 18% or so health, and I had 4 CPs built up, so I figured I'd Eviscerate to get him a bit lower to make sure he was low enough health to MC...

Well I critted him and was shocked to see his health drop about 6% all at once. I was damn quick to drop the unforged seal and then use the orb to mind control him. Pretty neat trinkets...too bad I can't use them for something else.

I have a level 22 dungeon quest in Zoram I've been wanting to try for a while now, I wonder if that's it. I'm a little old for it now at 26, but I'd be willing to check it out and it's always good to have a priest along for the ride.

I really like the Zoram Strand area, but there are always so few Horde around there... dangerous for a solo priest.

Anyone know of a quest for a good wand in the 25-30 range? The one I have isn't making the cut anymore...

That's the one...and you arent too old. There are about four quests in there I think (its another one where the alliance get the lions share of the quests)

26 isnt too old either. I would imagine you would be a popular addition to dippy's expedition.

There are generally not to many high level alliance there either, though. That makes it better...and it is time to practice your pwnage skills. Good place to do it.

Hey guys awesome time in ZF yesterday. Sorry I keep screwing up but I swear I am getting better. Grolock send me some hints on what to do right in an instance.

Everytime we get in a big fight like the last one where we are freeing the locked up people my game slows badly so half the time I am a key stroke or 6 behind everyone. I can't see what others are doing and am constanly losing who I am shooting at so have to keep doing the tab to find another enemy. My pet screen was wonky because instead of having my growl and bit e always activated it only had dash. So I was manually trying to click those two because without them the wolf doesn't pull aggro on the things. I think I have that figured out but not sure.

And poor Viktor invited me out to do the thirsty goblin and I died way too many times. He was very nice to not throttle me.

But I will learn and get better and thanks to all of you for being patient.

I hunted with Clair and Dimar for a bit this weekend, and we crushed every Alliance member we ran across, so I doubt we have any worries in that regard

Although I only recall us seeing 1 alliance member and we tripleteamed him.
