You darkly ask, "What is it you sell again?"
>look aevryl

You hear the faint thoughts of Randream echo in your mind:
"Any pickers willing to come to the thrak party room and pick a box for me please?"
>
You see Aevryl the Spellweaver.
She appears to be an Illistim Elf.
She appears to be in the flower of life and shorter than average. She has limpid violet eyes and alabaster skin. She has waist length, unruly silver hair held in a loose chignon by some twisted platinum hairsticks. She has a delicate face, an upturned nose and thin-tipped pointed ears.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a translucent pale indigo iceblossom, a crystal amulet, some dark grey silver-insigiled casting gloves, a pair of amethyst silk slippers, a silk-lined silvery brocade cloak, an opalescent white bodice, a pair of luminous black pearl earrings, a dark garnet-hued orchid tucked behind one ear, a soft white wizard's hat, some silvery full leather, and a flowing pale lilac satin skirt.

[Silverwood Manor, Courtyard]
Painted a pristine shade of white, a short stone wall lines the entire expanse of the courtyard. Leading towards the carved haonwood door of the manor, some short boxwood hedges line the multicolored stone path. Verdant grass provides a suitable place to sit and listen to a lesson, and a small tree to the back of the courtyard lends shade if needed. Azalea bushes with resplendent pink blossoms edge the wall, adding a touch of color to the area. You also see a silver bell with a long silken rope.

You see Mentor Bevan Ravenswing the Troubadour.
He appears to be an Elf.
He appears to be as old as the hills and tall. He has piercing, intense twilight-hued violet eyes and fair skin. He has shoulder length, flowing midnight black hair streaked with silver. He has a slightly weathered, hawk-like face, a flaring nose and tall upswept pointed ears.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a laen tipped walking stick in his right hand.
He is wearing a large black billowing silk shirt, some bloused violet silk pantaloons with embroidered silver anchors, a diamond-edged black raven mask, a gleaming silver quarter note suspended from a white satin cord, a crystalline lute charm bearing the legend "1st Elanthian TLC Regiment" in amethyst and crystal, a frost opal inset silver circlet, a sheer violet cloak seemingly woven from starlight with a wrought opal brooch, a pearl-set braided vaalin ring, a clef-clasped tooled leather satchel, an antique platinum wristband, a pair of silver-threaded boots, a violet silk sash embroidered with silver flames, a silver-chased carved amethyst flask, some silvery vultite cufflinks, a bracelet of pale silver-set amethysts, an antique silver armband inset with a rolaren star and four glaes stars, an antique silver bracer, an antique ivory chart case, a silver-rimmed glossy black shield, a silvery silk sheath embroidered with azure flowers, and a single yellow rose boutonniere.

I don't have the highest opinion of Bevan either, but that d00d was fucking retarded. Besides, my irritation with Bevan's player comes more from these boards than anything I've seen him do in-game. This is the second person here that's deliberately responded to his MENTOR announce and then behaved like a moron.... just to come and post about it. Who's the idiot here? I vote Squirrel.

Can't help but agree with you on this one Spunny... It's one thing to hate someone... another to go seek said person out to fuck with them. I usually avoid people I don't like... not troll them.

OMG how original. Why don't people like you just shut the fuck up and let the mentors get on with helping the new players. That little log is probably ranked in my top ten dumbest things ever list.

Got a problem with the way a mentor behaves while mentoring? Email GM Roxia about it if you have the balls to back up your pathetic comments with action. I'm sure she will look into anything worth looking in to. Otherwise? Stop fucking disturbing them while on duty when you don't actually need help.

Wow, another(or perhaps the same) person showing how clever they are by having their fun at the expense of someone donating time to assist others.

We already know Bevans player can be a dork on the boards. all you did was prove you can be at least as big an ass in game who can take up time of a mentor and then a GM with your garbage.

Way to be a jerk.

As was said, I'm sure Bevan reported. I would have also.

Bevan may be a total tool, I am not disputing or agreeing as I have not had enough interaction with him in game to have an opinion.

This isn't about Bevan though.

I didn't see Bevan do anything wrong in this log. This is about someone else acting like an ass.

I've only interacted with Bevan once that I can recall, but he was very friendly and helpful to me on that occasion. I really don't see why folks think it's funny to harass him when he's trying to help people.

there is a whole entire thread about mentors and how they are always OOC.

That is why people harras them

Wow....how incredibly hypocritical of people to go in game to disrupt someone who could be helping others and to do it by being ooc yet to justify it by saying they were ooc first.

Great logic there.

If you are in third grade perhaps.

No, this thread is about people stating their opinions of which both of us have one. One is not any more correct than the other.

Is there any particular reason that you quoted me Skirmisher? I don't recall directing my reply to you, nor did I intimate, in any way that your take of the situation was not valid. In fact, the only thing is that I posted below you - but did not quote you. I wasn't referring to your post. Am I missing something? :?:

Question: How much did Squirrel get flamed back when?

Answer: None. They weren't flames they were statements of truth. You were a fucking moron then and it looks like you don't change with time. I'm sorry if the truth hurts but when it looks like a fucktard, acts like a fucktard, and talks like a fucktard chances are we are going to call it a fucktard or a squirrel or a warclaidhm.

I'm sorry you can't see the fact that you instigated that shit, did it poorly, and you're still a moron. Reroll at life.

Why was Emeradan there?

As was said, I'm sure Bevan reported. I would have also.

Bevan may be a total tool, I am not disputing or agreeing as I have not had enough interaction with him in game to have an opinion.

Just a guess and I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure she quoted you so she could answer your question about why Emeraden was there. And then, having nothing to do with your post, she posted her own thoughts and opinions on this thread and the person posting it.

Again, I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.

WTF? You didn't have anything better to do than pester someone who, while they may be annoying, at least take time out to help new people? People who purposely make trouble in situations like this are just jackasses. If bothering a mentor you don't care for while he's doing his job is all you find to do, maybe it's time to quit GS.

I see, I usually edit out the part that I'm not directly responding to - it generally helps avoid misunderstandings. Thanks for clarifying. Much like you did in this reply ;)

It was stupid, but it made me laugh.
I think Bevan coulda just pointed you in the direction of Illistim Library to keep it civil, but I dont think you would have gone along with that.
Ah well...idle hands and all that...!

i feel its silly to defend myself here but i'll do it anyways. I never had any intent to go there and harass and this is the first encounter i've had with bevan, provoked or not as a mentor he should have been a bit more professional than that, REGARDLESS of how new i am (and some would argue that im a newb)

Sorry. I'm not buying that you're a "newb". I'm also not buying that you didn't fully intend to cause a disruption.

Mentors are not punch bags, we are not there to take the harassment that some idiots like to throw at us. I'm fairly certain that is why Emeradan showed up. I'm also fairly certain you did not need any mentoring at that time. How about next time Bevan is on duty, you don't bother him unless you actually need help. Jeez....

Yeah, sorry squirrel but I know you in game and you have been around a while. The only time you would be called a nub would be by someone who wanted to express the size of their pp by talking of their time in the iceage GS.

And there is no doubt that you went there to be a turd. Maybe you didnt go with the intention of pissing him off, but you could have realised that that would have been a likely outcome of what you were going to do.

And just to reinforce what others have said in this topic, and to offer more information - if anyone has a problem with the behavior of ANY mentor, you can send an email to Roxia, who is in charge. As with any GM, her email address is pretty damn easy to figure out - GS4-Roxia@play.net. She's a fair-minded person and a hell of a listener, and WILL listen to your complaints.

And yet you somehow thought this was the appropriate venue to air your "complaint?" Did you think you were going to be congratulated on being a moron? Please.

You went out of your way to be a tard, like everyone else has said.

What I don't get is why as a mentor he turned and cried to a GM about it. He could have ignored you and by the time the GM showed up, he had already walked off. Of course, he could have just answered the question, but my guess is that he didn't know.

If I remember correctly, I was told that the mentors are asked by Simu staff to let them know if a player is being disruptive. The mentors are there to instruct new players. Squirrel barged in on an ongoing discussion between Bevan (a mentor) and another player (probably a new player with legitimate questions). That, in my opinion, is being disruptive. When Squirrel continued to interrupt Bevan's efforts with the new player, I imagine Bevan let the GMs know that there was a problem. That, as I understood it, is what he's supposed to do.

HN is correct, as usual.

Were I in Bevan's shoes, I would have utilized the REPORT function also. Squirrel was behaving in a detrimental fashion to other novices that legitimately needed help, and did not leave despite repeated requests to do so. As much as we may like to at times, Mentors do not drag people out of the courtyard in order to bind them or lop their heads off. Better to let the GMs straighten them out.

Don't the mentors have a back-channel on which they communicate, and to which the GMs often listen? That's another way Emeradan could have been aware of what was going on.

Working too much! I'm teaching summer school right now...getting my fill of inner-city diversity. You know, come to think of it, in 16 years of teaching, I've never *not* worked summers....On a positive note, yes, I am planning on Vegas for sure, LA maybe...miss all of you tons!

And on topic...of course I agree with you (and subsequent posters)...it was a no brainer

(sighs) Here we go again.

Just to clarify, I did indeed REPORT, and Emeradan kindly offered to take a look at the situation. He started out pretty slickly and subtlely -- the NPC doorman telling people to get a clue -- and then instructed me to take the other character off and leave the idiot there to stew, which I did.

This is in fact the procedure we're supposed to follow in case of any disruptive players in the Manor -- get in other Mentors, who weren't available at nearly 4 AM, or REPORT to the GMs. In any event, the Manor's peacebound, even if we were encouraged to deal on duty with such people violently, which we are emphatically not, and even if the fellow's actions were enough to warrant violence, which I don't think they were.

The funny thing is this: twice in two weeks now some jackass has gone out of his way to pick a fight with a Mentor, then run crying right over here to post the log and whine about how mean and nasty we are.

Bored that much around here?

Personally, after trying to explain healing in purely IG terms to a small empath after Bevan asked me to.. I have a new appreciation as to why they'd be OOC sometimes. We did this at a table so that no one could see us be a little OOC and he DID explain that outside the table.. OOC terms are not allowed. Bevan was polite and courteous. Other than the loudmouth bard that wouldnt shut up while I was trying to explain how to heal and basic healer manners to the newbie.. I thought it went great. I like little things like that, when you get a chance to interact with others.

I'm slightly resentful of the "around here" implication.... considering you are one of "around here" and have been for quite some time. In case you didn't notice, I don't think there was a single person "around here" who agreed with Squirrel's moronic little game. We are not bored "around here." He was an idiot and chose to post it here.

Since I don't have any opinion formed about Bevan, I think the poster was trying to be a pain in the ass.

What does the resync verb do? That's the only thing that struck my curiousity.
