Naming the new guild

These make us sound like an Undead guild...I don't like that. I do like The Scourge of Azeroth...but Scourge has a different connotation in this game...so...I think that should be crossed off.

I do like Beastial Fury, but I don't like the whole "Combine guild names to form a new one" idea. Too many people do that. Half the Alliance guilds on our servers are combination names of other guilds.

Well...the area is called "The Barrens", so, those should be changed to "The Barrens' Brothers/Knights". Which...I don't really like. Not even sure you can have an apostrophe in guild titles. (This always bugged me about The Barren(s') Fury).

I like my name (of course), but I like any "of the Barrens" "of Dire Maul" "of...(any place that sounds rugged/desolate/harsh conditions" type names.

I wouldn't mind having "Clan" at the end of it either.

One concern about using "Kalimdor" is that it sorta alienates the Undeadies like myself, but I was prepared for that with the Barren Fury's geographic reference anyhow.

Alright...we need to decide on a name TODAY.

BotB isn't that keen on Dark Raiders of Kalimdor, only for the fact that it is so long. Scynd said alot of them were really pulling for a short one-word guild name this time, since some of them felt it made it more difficult to get out of site from Alliance (behind trees, bushes, etc.) when everyone could pick you out by the huge guild name floating over their heads.

Sooooo...he said surprisingly enough, none of them had a problem with just plain ol' Dark Raiders or The Dark Raiders. I told him to float by Dark Raiders of Dunemaul or Desolace by them, he said he'd give it a shot. (Since undead are from the other continent, maybe Kalimdor isn't the best choice.)

Someone from their guild threw out the name "Hounds of Rexxar". I kinda like that one, for those that don't know, Rexxar is the Horde Champion that roams the road of Desolace with his hellhounds.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Preferences?

As long as this Rexxar guy isn't a pushover, I can live with it. I know every NPC in WoW is killable, but as long as he puts up a good fight.

I agree with the short name thing, now that my quests are taking me into contested lands, it's nice to be able to hide.

The reality of it is, we will not be able to please every single person, so let’s compile the ones we are going to vote on and start the process.

I'd really like us to be a united force now that we have attained the key and settled some personal differences. We have just enough members to get one started as long as everyone logs on tonight

Is there anything that the rank-and-file guild members need to do as far as the transition goes? Like if I'm not on tonight (our Friday happy hours have been known to last for 8-12 hours), will everything happen automatically and I'll wake up in the new guild?

No, we'll change the Barren Fury guild message to something that says "Please send a tell to player A, B, or C to get an invite to the new guild, The Foo Foo Ass Clowns." And you need to be online to quit the old guild and accept the invite to the new guild.

I think we basically need to bring this suggestions to the Council and make the vote already. This is the last hurdle we face in order to merge our two guilds together.

As the Guildmaster, I chose Alorg because of his long standing help to the other guild members and his commitment to establishing the dialog necessary for this merger. He has been instrumental in this entire process and has done more than anyone to get us where we are today.

I'm going to speak up on my own behalf, since maybe you weren't the direct benefit of alot of the things I've done, but to say "other than send herbs/skins to people" is false.

First off, please realize I've sent 99% of all leather I've had to folks in the guild. Mainly Kagg, but Azzul, Croh, Littlefang, and Sade have received it from me for leatherworking or tailoring. That's thousands and thousands of pieces.

I've farmed for two and a half sets of devilsaur gear for members other than myself.

I purchased many recipes and ingrediants for leatherworkers, alchemy, and some enchants.

I farmed for an enchant recipe worth 300-400g.

I've sent dozens of pieces of gear to guild members, and kept stuff in my locker for them to use when they hit a higher level.

I'm probably responsible for outfitting half of the guild in runecloth bags...I think I've sent Sade over 500 pieces since I first started getting runecloth.

Not to mention random materials, herbs, and gems (I've probably sent Bayne 50g worth of rubies alone.)

I've put well over 1000g into this guild. So I'd appreciate a little more than "other than some skins/herbs".

Maybe I need to tout my donations more often.

maybe you should but i dont see how that makes you a council member? Everyone helps out in their own way, you chose the gatherer root. The guild was put in place by PB and Myself. His guildmaster title was because he had the money at the time to start it. Like nien said, everything else was voted on but council members were picked behind scenes, and one wasnt the current co- leader of guild. Personally i think it should be Nien, and Alorg on the council. but if its going to be because of the TBF. Then it should be its leaders, Bayne and Grimloc.

Eh, I didn't want it to seem like I was putting a price tag on what I've done as to being a valid reason that should be on the council. I was trying to convey that it my mind, I always did things with the guild's best interest in mind and tried to better it's members' skills/gear/professions.

Ok my two cents - communication on everything is a key here or things will get misread or insuinated (sp?). We need to discuss everything. With what goes on before the merger and after or else we will self destruct. There are always going to be little beefs between people but so far other than on instance the guild has been extremely strong about not letting it pull us down.

I don't have a problem with who all runs the guild. I have no wish to be a leader. I just want to have fun with other people in the guild and help out as I have been helped.

I think the merger will be awesome. I like so far the leaders from the other group and have a total faith in the leaders of our guild but if we forget to communicate it will fail no matter how good we could have been.

I think it really should be those with the guild's best interests in mind as well as those that contribute to the guild as well as push to the guild to improve itself. Grimloc pretty much never there. It's other characters. Frankly, Stabbed and Alorg should be the two council members, if anyone.

Reason for this is that Stabbed really seems to becoming PB's main and Alorg because he is always there to encourage UBRS runs to outfit the guild, was a major player in the merger, and really has improved the guild as a whole. Not only that, but he has the skill in leading PvP, which this server is all about.

Grimloc, Viktor whatever i was using grimloc and bayne because they were the 2 who created the guild. Stabbed is baynes main, Viktor is mine.

Well, we need to decide which character out of the mains should be there. We also need to know what the difference between council members and officers are and who would be best suited for their jobs.

Maybe a guild vote wouldn't be that bad.

Well if there's a vote, i Vote for Nienique and Alorg. Nien is always helping everyone quest and level whenever she can, and Alorg was instrumental in setting up the merger.

Let's move the discussion about Dave and future recruiting to the Barren Fury request thread. This thread is for the guild name and merger.

Regarding the merger and the selection of the Council members, as Guild Master, I took it upon myself to select Alorg and myself. I started this guild, and yes Sergey, with you, but I was the one who spent the time recruiting and paying the initial 10 gold. The reason I didn't select you on the council was a couple of reasons:

1) You don't have a single character that is capped or near capped. This is important because of the end game instances and the main reason why we are merging with another guild.

2) You initially said you would not support this merger.. so why again would I select you to the council of the merged guild?

3) Alorg has done more than anyone in this guild, including myself, to get this merger together. He initiated the talks and knows most of the BotB members.

The proposed plan calls for 2 members of each guild to be on the council and to recommend one guild master. If this mix changes or if one of the council members is selected as the new GM, then an opening will be available for us to vote on a new Council member.

My proposal to the Council will be to make 8 levels of guild membership. GM, Council, Officers, Veterans, etc... I will also propose that the current list of TBF Officers maintain their rank and privileges.. which means the ability to recruit.

Actually, I will be putting a third character of mine as GM.. Dogo. If you wish to not merge with the rest of us and decide that you would rather go on your own, then that decision will be yours to make without the Barren Fury name and guild.

The guild TBF and BotB are merging into one. The only reason I am even keeping the guild TBF open is for that off chance that things will not work out and that people could go back to the way it was. It's not meant to be left for people who do not want to merge and they can just stay in the current guild. If you do not want to merge, that is completely up to you.. I can't keep track of your "I want to merge" "I don't want to merge" "I want to merge" flip flopping. TBF will essentially become nothing more than a couple of throw away characters and the name will essentially cease to exist.

If you are not choosing to merge with us once again, then my suggestion would be to start up a brand new guild with a brand new name. I personally hope that you will once again change your mind and follow us..
