Give a shout of if by choice, or by situations being what they are, you are home and doing Nothing to celebrate this great nation's Independence Day.

I am home but cooked out on the grill for the kids, and will be setting off fireworks in about 10 minutes!

I'm home, but I spent the last few months playing cashier at a very big Fireworks showroom (www.Fireworks.com) So I have some purchases and bonus stuff to shoot off. My Aunt, being the manager has more she's bringing over, and about 3 friends from work are bringing theirs. So, between us all, roughly about 3k is gonna go up in smoke in about an hour.

I brought the rum!

I WAS planning to do nothing.

Until my friend calls me up and says a whole bunch of us are gonna get drunk at the strip.

Sorry about your car, Artha. :(

I'm at home, trying to keep the cats from going bonkers from the noise. They hate this holiday almost as much as they detest Halloween.

I can see the local displays across the lake. They're beautiful, even if the cats don't see it the same way. :)

I might go out just to be out closer to midnight.

Chilling at home - flipping to the local fireworks channel during commercials. Making sure the dog can still breathe shoving her head under the bed - scared of the fireworks noises outside.

I'm listening to Music and playing GS. Nothing too exciting. I saw some fireworks last evening.

I played in a texas hold-em tourney about half a mile from the washington monument in dc, across the river on base.

I lost. Big. To a guy who was on his 5th consecutive trips.

Have work tomorrow. Our fireworks display this year was cut short when something caught on fire (could hear the fire call from the volunteer truck across the street). I did take some cool pics of the fireworks though before they stopped them :)

Two cookouts, fishing, and some illegal fireworks were my night.

Highlight was the last firework shooting about 10 feet into the air, instead of the normal 100, and exploding directly above my Dad and I.

Saving my boozing for turning the big 22 tomorrow.

Those pics are awesome. Do you have them at any higher resolution? I need a wallpaper change.

Took my 2 year old out to see his first fireworks show at the country club. He loved it. Ergo, I loved watching the look on his face when the next set lit up. Some of my fondest memories are sitting in the front yard of my grandparents house in the grass watching fireworks from what used to be old Westbury Square.

I hope to instill something like that in my son as we make a tradition of going to see fireworks.

Happy American Independance Day folks.

Today I had the joy of working part of the day. I normally work the graveyard shift but my boss is a useless bitch.

You'd THINK people would know nothing is open on a fucking holiday. God I hate people. I don't know how many times I wanted to ask someone if they're not working, why do they think their doctor's office will be open? Ugh.

I didnt do anything really tonight except go to watch the local fireworks with friends.

Last night on the other hand involved the Taste of Chicago/ (thankfully) watched the fireworks from the top of a skyscraper instead of the throg of 1.2million people down at the lakefront. Then went to a club and had fun.

U.S.A. rocks!

well I did some mild shopping with my younger sister in key west this morning...yes there were things open! then went Kayaking for a bit, burned my poor swedish skin to hell. then horded my pina coladas and guinness for the rest of the afternoon, while playing drunken boggle, and other board games with the family. then watched the local fireworks display from our dock, and getting eaten alive by giant killer bugs.

Do you live by me or something? I went out to the same spot I do every year and watched the fireworks out on the field.

It was all a lot of fun, and then all of a sudden I see a couple of trees set blaze.

"Is that a fire?"
"Holy shit! That's a fire!"

[insert a lot of laughing]

Yeah, when the police and fire fighters got there it was still going strong. Gotta love Oregonians.

Watched Elton John and then the fireworks over the Philadelphia art museum and Penn's Landing from my balcony.
