I rub my invis amu, and this is what happens next..
[Ta'Illistim, Hanging Gardens]
Although the floating platform is suspended well above the ground below, it overflows with abundant plant life. The edges of the dais are brimming with delicate white queen's lace, dark lavender, fragrant rosemary and a variety of other colorful flora. Thick grass underfoot provides an enticingly peaceful resting spot. A thin silk canopy is suspended above, providing ample shade from the day's brightness. You also see the earth brown Philosilan disk, the Dessedemona disk, the Atreau disk, the Riciddius disk, a red fox that is sitting, the Jube disk, the Kandrio disk, a peak tiger that is sleeping, the Berenger disk, a glaesine arch, a large faenor-chased barrel and a richly finished wooden bench with some stuff on it.
Also here: Philosilan, Great Lord Prophete, Dessedemona, Selah, Riciddius, Lord Aleobe who is sitting, Kjata, Lord Rooster, Gushi who is sitting, Beramun who is sitting, Voldermort, Chadj, Ostes who is kneeling

... and hits for 23 points of damage!
... 5 points of damage!
Minor burns to right arm. That hurts a bit.
... 35 points of damage!
Brrrrr! That was a cold blow to the chest!
... 25 points of damage!
Nasty shock to left leg stiffens joints. Nice and painful.
* Philosilan drops dead at your feet!
The layer of stone surrounding Philosilan crumbles away.
The shimmering multicolored sphere fades from around Philosilan.
Philosilan seems a bit less imposing.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around Philosilan.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding Philosilan suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.
Philosilan no longer bristles with energy.
The silvery luminescence fades from around Philosilan.
The deep blue glow leaves Philosilan.
A luminescent aura fades from around Philosilan.
Philosilan becomes solid again.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Philosilan.
The light blue glow leaves Philosilan.
The bright luminescence fades from around Philosilan.
Philosilan appears somehow different.
Philosilan glances around, looking a bit less confident.

I blame the staff more for that kind of thing than the player. It's funny that AFK scripting will get you a warning, but blatant OOC is acceptable.

Those two logs make me so fucking happy I don't have to pay to put up with that bullshit.
Phil and Atreau are controlled by the same player and/or 2 best buddies that really dig each other.. alot. It's not worth the time because it has been illustrated time and time again that they know shit about roleplaying and more about "I R L33T WEZARD AND ROUGE"
Those two are prime examples of what is wrong with that game.
That about summed it up completely.
I'll see how the GM deals with it, before I call the whole process a shit deal.

What's funny is that when I first started reading and saw Philosilan I said to myself, I'll bet that's Atreau's player controlling him. Atreau is the world's largest asshole, according to what Philosilan's player told me a few years ago, Atreau's player dropped out of high school is basically a loser who does nothing but play Gemstone. Philosilan's player said they were all from like Flint or Grand Rapids...somewhere up in Michigan.
Atreau should be locked up and never let out to play, and his player should be regarded like Seany Digital, banned when they find out who he owns next. Was surprised that Rakisak (I think that's how it's spelled) wasn't there, that would help complete the Three Stooges.
Nice job toasting him, that was good to see.

At Desian's tent right now and found this a bit humorous. Dess joined him without being spun for, and he had already announced any disciplinary problems would be handled by his hired guards..
Desian glances at Dessedemona.
You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
As Desian snaps his fingers, two burly orcs slip from the nearby shadows and walk directly towards Dessedemona. Grabbing her by each arm, they pick her up and throw her into one of the adjacent rooms! Smirking at one another, the two orcs return to their previous posts, and vanish into the shadows once again.

i know what you mean. a week ago, in the crypt, my hurling rogue had an encounter with some crazy empaths that kept touching him, rubbing him, 1107ing him to stand, and when i asked nicely for them to stop, one started casting at me, trying to bind most likely, and failed. so i just smiled, as its sancted in there. next hunt i went out he was there, so i put away my blessed weapons (didnt want to waste my precious blesses) and started rubbing my bandolier and hurling axes at him 2 at a time. i got him beat up real nice and waited for his stun to wear off, at which point he said 'you are an idiot, now i have 6 of your vultite handaxes' and laughed, put away his shield and weapon, and then tried to pick them up off the ground. when they all dissipated when he tried, i just laughed to myself and sent another one at him, destroying his neck. it felt so good.
then his other empath friend came in and binded me to get beat up by wraiths and left me in a room with 4, in offensive bound, no weapons out. she got hers while hunting in a group. :)
That's hillarious Hect!!

Frankly all you can do with assholes like him is report and hope he gets enough on him to get banned. As far as Philosilan/Jube... I like him as Jube... I guess he must need to plump his ego or something to play a wellington guy like Phil... He just finds random people younger than him to pick on and does it. Oddly I do remember him as Jube saying how much of an asshole Asstreau is... and has killed him as Jube more than once I believe. Phil and Atreau were good friends IRL and often played the game sitting in the same room of one of their houses. Naturally they were always together in game.
I know Philosilan's player somewhat. Know as in talk in IM's but never met him. He supposedly sold Phil a few months back. Had him up for sale on Gemstone Auction Place. Now, if anyone bought him I'm not positive but he did IM me one day and tell me he was done that he just sold Phil.
.... Phil and Jube are the same player?? Honestly I never had any idea.
Was he always Jube or did Jube's player maybe buy him?

Atreau whispered to me on the dais that we was going to show me what an ass was. I was like nice way to bring the boards into the game you lose. His "loophole" he didn't read the boards someone read them and told him...way to miss the point. So we go outside to duel it up.
I challenge him, he casts at me before accepting so I win. He runs off, hides, returns, removes my leg. I proceed to make sure he knows he still lost the duel, he says prove it you're the one that lost the leg. Odd I say, I seem to have both of them now so prove you hit me (some people are fun to mess with)
But yeah short story long he's special to say the least. Seems he can be ok at times and othertimes he's an ass. Take my run in with him he started off an ass but handled the situation very well if you ask me.

Spoke to Atreau tonight and he confirmed that he was not in control of Philo during that incident, and that he doesnt know who's controlling Philo since he's been sold. Atreau wouldnt have any reason to lie since I'm not really involved in the conflict, so I believe what he's said regarding this.
I did express disdain that he jumped in when the fight was initially involving two others. His reasoning was that it was a family thing, to wit even though I dont agree with escalating famliy altercations, they happen alot and if RP'd thoroughly can be logical connected if you were to look realistically at altercations or attacks that take place with others present when it happens.
You don't know how Atraeu spent his time slitting my sorcerers throat every 20 seconds. Then he hid so he couldn't be warned.
Believe me when I tell you, his attacks were totally uncalled for.
Then his pals start nailing me as well??!
Fuck that.
I murdered them both, being the only way I could keep them still while keeping myself alive, so I could warn them.
Everytime I asked a GM to help me in the past, becouse I was getting slit throats, murdered and then charged for killing him back.. they told me I had to warn him first.
So I have, and now you say I'm weak.
I'd rather warn for the first time in my GS history, than takes the side of a dickhead like Atreau.
Besides Ganalon, how would you deal with them if you were in my situation?
I'm doing everything I can. Unless there's something I haven't thought of.
Please, do share.
I would have either followed one of two paths.
1. warn from the outset and find something else to do, somewhere else to be.
2. man up and trade an eye for an eye until either we both were pulled by a GM who's tired of watching us kill each other, or until we came to an accord after many deeds/deaths.
I would not have included any warn with action - thats what makes you look like you're avoiding retribution and thus looking weak. If you were really serious about warn then you'd have used your invisibility amulet and removed yourself from the immediate attacks (throat slits/hiding/whatever) and waited until he was in plain sight, then warned him as he was not hidden. By using the same tactics that you used to kill you could have succeeded in the warn and moved on without trading deeds and becoming emotionally involved.
However, realize that I'm looking at this from the outside perspective, so as it is not as if I was directly involved and knowing how everything unfolded in real time, I'm having to get it second hand by two methods: 1) your posts here on the PC, and 2) my conversations with Atreau.
If you truly do not wish to engage in the drama that some folks surround themselves with then you need to revise your IG strategy. I've been on a no-drama routine for over a year and have succeeded, even without turning myself into a hermit and camping at a table.

Ta'Illistim and the Landing are certainly not the best places to look for a consistently high level of quality characters. Icemule I enjoyed, despite having a few ugly conflicts which had little to no RP value.
Like you said, your attention was wrapped around obtaining one of the greatest items in the game. Now that you have it, you have to find something else to occupy your time.
Perhaps go about and give examples of the sword's awesome power? I am sure the people on RR would love to see the sword in action. There is also a quest going on there you may enjoy.
Teras Isle is eventually looking to be getting a higher level hunting ground, perhaps you could head there in time for a change of pace. Spend some time hunting the Rift until then, there are a few decent sorts up there that I am aware of.
Just some honest suggestions.

They quote Policy as being a reason why they can't act, but there are times when exceptions should be made. That and the whole GM's telling specific players when the WD tickets were going on sale sickens me. The price hike and better stuff to do is making me not enjoy it as much anyway.

GMS have never cared about pleasing anyone but their own ideal and wielding their power... There are some GM acceptions... Though I'm not going to name names either way here since there are some popular gms that I think the game would be MUCH better without.

I'm not a fan of the new "warn" command. If the game was handled correctly, something like this wouldn't be necessary. However, such is not the case.
Since Warn does exist, I'd use it. Warn him and avoid all contact. When he shows up, leave and go elsewhere. If he attacks you, or instigates contact with you in any way, Assist/Report and go elsewhere. If he follows, keep Assist/Reporting. It's the only way you're going to get rid of people like this. Well said. If you Warn Interact someone, you cease to acknowledge them at all. If they actively seek you out, you do nothing but report. They will eventually be reprimanded beyond simple warnings. I have seen it happen.

It doesn't cost me $40 a month to play though.
Back in the day I've been part of a GM enforced warn when the drama I was involved in escalated to almost a full out war between 'families'. I've been part of another GM enforced warn when I was made to promise not to persue or interact with another who gave as well as got (admirably so) - I still dont know who reported it to begin with - but it carried out all over the landing.
I've warn interacted only two players ever- one Starkly/Callinar et. al. for MA'ing and refusing to handle a situation with just one character. And another because of things that happened outside the game, which was a mistake all the way around.
I'm pretty easy going now. If someone irks me I just pay back in kind. If they whine about it I let them whine. If they decide to continue it then I follow suit and start trading deeds until they say mercy. If they warn interact, I just chuckle and move on my merry way and take it for what its worth. I've yet to mix the two on a one on one combat situation (PvP). My character's demeanor is one not to take attacks lying down and he's innovative enough to bring the fight back on multiple levels. He also finds it shameless to watch someone being attacked by multiple people without aid. Mano a mano or get back on the porch.
I guess the best thing I've done is seperate the game emotionally from me as a player. What happens here stays here. Sure I'll show frustration at times but not obsessive emotional distress over someone killing my character or slandering my oh so good name [/sarcasm]. If thats the direction thats taken then I gladly will run alongside the other particpant until one of us drops only you'll see my character talk less and swing/cast more, which is how I feel things were carried out in the setting of Elanthia as cross referenced to Medieval periods.
It just depends on how its played out. I just know that there's a definate divison between picking up the gauntlet or just warn interacting and moving along. You should not do both - else it turns into abuse and hiding behind mechanics.
If Atreau is as obsessive as he's depicted then repeated warns and reporting will modify the behavior eventually. It has in the past with the likes of Warclaidhm, Solescape (and company), and many others. Its all in how you handle the situation and use the tools that you're given as a player in Gemstone. Actions speak louder than words and eventually the GM's get tired of hearing the complaints and step in to correct the behavior. Khaladon describes it perfectly in my signature.

I have never reported another character due to PvP reasons. I suppose it may not be completely IC, but I avoid characters I hear about on these boards.
People like Suavementous, Atreau, Philosian, ect, ect.
I just make a note to not engage them at all. It simply isn't worth the drama. Most of the trouble makers in GS are well known. If you make an effort to mark them, and avoid them, life might be a lot better for you.
An outstanding strategy, and one that I follow, perhaps not religiously, but nonetheless fairly consistently.
I've been trying really hard to ignore him recently.
If he murders my character one more time, and goes back to the dais among his MA minions, taunting my character with the words 'ghay' and 'pussy', I swear if the GMs don't step in this time I'm going to spend the next 6 months on a total hate vendetta against the fucks. I'll murder them every single time they try to hunt.
Especially in front of ther girlfriends. And I may even curse the fucker while he hunts. Watch as the critters pick up his weapons.
That will be the moment the GMs decide to take a look and I'll be the one who gets banned.
I'm begining to totally lose hope in the customer service side of this game.

Sorry, but I found this damn funny.
Probably the most important things I got from the convo:
Emeradan says, "My best suggestion at this point, to be honest, is to clarify with both of them that you don't wish to interact with them in any fashion...however you decide to convey that desire, and then to walk away and not interact with either of them again in any fashion. Emeradan says, "Well, as you were told by SGM Khaladon...WARN is simply a communication tool between players."
Emeradan says, "We don't know what might have been said or done prior to the murder and subsequent REPORT>." This is the direct result of people goading others into violating a WARN then reporting (using the GM as a tool) just to get the aggressor into trouble
>
Emeradan says, "My advice stands firm...I would keep myself out of any interaction with him, and let us know if it continues."
Meaning uphold your end of the WARN
Emeradan says, "I would suggest letting us know if he begins interacting with you in any fashion." Meaning that they will now start observing closely and start considering appropriate action now that you've gone through all the necessary prerequesite steps
Emeradan says, "Well, we won't act simply in a short observation." Dont expect immediate action, but they will be watching. I'm guessing that this is resulting from GM's being used as tools to avoid conflict in the past
He has a point. You can't interact at all if you want GMs to take action. That means you need to basically sit there and die a few times before they do anything. A pretty bogus deal if you ask me.

He doesnt need backup you dolt. As the GM stated. If he truly wants to be left alone then he does not need to respond in any way period. If you stick your big stinky nose into the conflict then all you're going to do is negate his efforts he's made thus far and just escalate a conflict between two people into a multi person conflict.
Quit trying to show everyone the size of your penis and but the fuck out. Yes we know you're a capped sorcerer, WHOOP DE DOOOOO. Otherwise you're going to do nothing but escalate the problem and justify Atreau's actions and thats not Shimm's goal here if you've been following this thread.

I use my head you idiot. Whats a few deeds if you can get someone an official warn or even suspended or banned - if thats the direction you wish to take. And, if you have bothered to even read what I've posted before - thats not the only action I choose to do at times.
Your bravado is only shadowed by your lack of intelligence. Thus another reason why any of my characters lack even the desire to even acknowledge your existence in the game.

Hmph, you're a pompous prat. I rather like the vindictive way of reaching a verdict myself -- to each his own, however.
Pride comes before the fall. Surely a measure of prudence in this scenario would do no harm, I suppose.
Speaking of intelligence, you've shown a great deal of it in your last few posts. Your reasoning behind not interacting with my character is the most dimwitted thing I've ever read.

You're a trip Tabor. I did not even ask you to clarify which 'life' you were meaning in your effort to be witty. But by that blanket statement and the fact that your photos portray you as 140 pounds of skin and bone with a little hair stuffed in the cracks (gotta jump around in the shower just to get wet). I'm guessing that you meant in the game where you can truly match your abilities to your desires.
My rogue isnt a very social creature to those he doesnt know so your interaction with him will be only to observe his passing shadow. My healer on the other hand is seen in public and if the offchange he is healing instead of hunting OTF he still wont heal you if you ask. And no he wont be afraid to step to the square if you choose to invite him either.
Edited: Sorry Chica, just saw your post. I will refrain anymore Tabor derailment. He's fulfilled his mission today it seems.

Drayal, hon, just do exactly what Emeradan told you to do. Avoid these idiots at all cost, and Assist/Report IMMEDIATELY if they kill you. Assisting helps the GMs because a record is available in the Host's report of the interchange. The important thing, at this point, is that you do nothing and say nothing to them. Doing so only gives them a way to turn it back on you.
It's a shame it has to be this way, but that's what the game has come to. The only way to get rid of these idiots is to allow your character to be attacked without retaliating in any way, whether word or deed. From the way Emeradan talked, I get the feeling they're aware these people are a problem. They're just trying to get enough on them to deal with them appropriately. Your part in the action is to help them do so.
Good luck, hon. It's always a joy to see players like these get their asses handed to them by the GMs. They don't last long once that starts to happen. :)
I do plan on doing the right thing. As of last night , being murdered, I realised it's not that hard to just pretend nothing happened and just read the boards for a while as my stats grow again.
I also noticed Atreau didn't get any fun out of the whole thing. He really needed me to fight him and his friends off, to get his jollies.
And Tabor, I do appreciate your stance on this. Wether it's just boredom and needing a fight, due to your character being capped. Or you really and completely wanted to help.
I still say thanks.
What a joy GS really is.

It seems to me the whole game has taken a complete nosedive after the removal of permanent death. With the fear of losing their half-uber characters gone, all the snerts and jackoffs think they have the power to do whatever they feel like, no matter who they hurt along the way.
I've seriously considered on more than one occassion afk scripting a character as high as I could get and met out some vigilante justice. However, I have thought twice about it each time, as I would end up being no better than the idiots I was trying to depose. Not to mention it wouldn't matter, as I would end up locked out eventually for pk'ing too much.
Needless to say, permanent death needs to be reinstated. Make death mean something again, even if it only makes it more than an RP cop-out device.
I remember the first time I was pk'ed and I remember being scared shitless. With the way it is now, it's worth nothing more than a half-hearted chuckle.
Sorry for the banter, just venting a little.
