Right now I'm using the generic 21/8/22 build, but I'm thinking of going back to a combat based build like I had in my 40s. I'm just getting bored and want to try something different.

What are the details of the build you're using? What weapons are you using with that build?

I'm bored and would like to hear some alternatives. The WoW Rogue Forum would be perfect for this, if the search function actually worked.

Right now I'm enjoying 21/27/0

Tempted to put more into Assassination to get the +10 to energy, but I'm weighing the pros & cons.

I laugh at your sub-2000 eviscerate crits.

My rogueling is 0/27/10 right now at 46. I plan to ultimately be 5/27/19. The skills I"m shooting for are malice, blade fury, sword specialization, improved sap, and ghostly strike.

I don't know how well it'll be in PvP, but in soloing, it's great. Especially when I get an add, I can use blade fury to kill both creatures simultaneously. Riposte also kicks ass, ESPECIALLY in 1 on 1 PvP. Few people use weapon chains, in favor of enchants such as lifesteal or crusader.

I would like to respec once I hit 60 to a PvP build, but I'm still messing round with training plans, at the moment. As for now, I'm just worried about capping. I'll find a solution before that time comes.

I laugh at the fact you think any talent has anything to do with eviscerate damage. (Besides aggression...which if you're spending 25 points just to spend 3 more for a 6% damage increase, you're crazy.)

My highest eviscerate I believe is 2492. Not bad for only 4 points in the combat tree.

Im going combat/subtle. Right now I think Im somewhere around 5/11/15. I decided to go combat over assassination for the mix of defense and bonuses to hit/crit.

True - I forgot that the improved evis was in the assination part.

It's just hard for me to pass up skills like Dagger Mastery (+5% crit), Dual Wield Specialization (+50% damage from off-handed weapon) and Blade Fury (attack speed +20%, attacks hit nearby opponent)

I'm leaning towards not going so much into assasination.. and more into combat. I don't think cold blood is all that.. especially if I can get more crits more often by increasing combat.

I'll still be going for prep next training though... and improved sap is just fucking fun to play with in Booty Bay.

With improved ambush and the highest rank of ambush you can train in - cold blood is very nice.

I use it in all my duels and when I'm trying to pick a single horde out of a questing party.

Shame Cold Blooded can miss.

Haven't seen it miss yet for me.

On topic - now that I take a closer look at the Subtlety talents, it looks like I might need to do some re-arranging.

Trust me, ambush does not have a 100% hit rate.

Oh, I thought you meant Cold Blood having the ability to guarantee crit.

Ah no, not that. Just that the Cold Blooded strike can miss. Which makes it not as cool for me.

WHat do you have instead Stay?

I'm not sixty yet. I'm deciding between getting the 100% energy regen thing or just getting no high end talent with preperation.

Ah ok...I have just been getting stuff as I have gone along, with no real plans for anything, so it's a bit of a mess at the moment.
I will expect to re-spec later.

Something I have noticed from the three classes I have played so far is that while there are some great talents along the way, the high end stuff rarely makes you want to get them.

Personally I'd go combat for rogue on the build up to 60. When you hit the cap I'd consider respecing and getting CB/Prep.
