Deputies Discover Marijuana Farm With Over 23,000 Plants

FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- Someone has lost a ton of pot.

Strange News PhotosInvestigators uncovered a marijuana farm with more than 23,000 plants in Solano County, sheriff's officials said.

Deputies said the pot was growing in a steep canyon area northwest of Vacaville. The plants were watered through a sophisticated irrigation system, with some pipes up to four miles long.

Investigators estimated the value of the marijuana crop could have been as high $117 million dollars. The illegal weed was destroyed.

Officials have not made any busts, but said they found some campsites apparently used by the pot growers.

If they burned it, did they get alot of folks just drop by to shotgun the smoke from the fires?

I wonder if there was a run on potatoe chips at nearby convienent stores afterwards... :lol:

Eh they just need to make pot legal and tax it like everything else :rolleyes:

The funniest thing I saw once was an episode of COPS where they came to investigave a robbery. They went to look in the attic and the people freaked out saying nothing was up there. Cops go up there and the attic is filled with a forest of weed... Needless to say they were arrested... So if you're growing pot and get robbed... DON'T call the police?

Wow, someone is going to be bummed.

One Cops episode I remember as being funny was when a guy got stopped and the cop kept asking him over and over if he had been smoking pot or if he smoked pot. (the guy was totally wasted) The guy kept saying no sir, no sir. Finally, the cop goes ... this is the reason I'm asking and pulls the joint the guy has tucked behind his ear out. (I was dying laughing the whole time) The guy then sort of laughs and goes ... maybe I have been.
