So I accidentily stumbled on this link this afternoon, finding out that Miyazaki made another film, called Howl's Moving Castle, and that it's in theaters as of today. I had no idea, since I live in an area with limited access to American television stations. I hadn't seen any previews and such for the movie. Needless to say, I was shocked and delighted.

Now, I'm an avid fan of Miyazaki's work. Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa Valley of the Wind are my two favorites by him. I met him back in 99, when he was opening an art exhibit, in Soho New York City. It was around the same time Amano had his art exhibit. His english is horrible! Heh.

I'm going to try to con my girlfriend into going sometime this weekend... Unfortunately, it's only playing in one theater in downtown Montreal...

Read about it in this morning’s Express. (The Washington Post’s freebie handout at all metro stations in the morning)

You bet I was happy! All his stuff is amazing, if you dig innocent and fantastic stories with exceptional attention to realistic details. The Cat Returns is one of my favs.
