This guy posted pictures of his mother's house, a woman obsessed with buying stuff online. It's accumulated quite a bit into her home. Explaining it doesn't do it justice til you see it.
OMG that's so my mother's house if she keeps it up. Ugh.

Similar situation at my mother's house, where every room but the Den that she works in, and the basement is mostly free of the clutter-fest resembling those pictures.
The Den is tha way because she is unable to stay organized even though she runs her own business.
The basement is half a clutter-trap due to the damnable HSN, while the other half is because old furniture is being stored there (not really her fault, as the house instead features "newer" furniture that she gets to keep courtesy of her now ex-husband). However, even with several shelving equipment/structures in the basement, there's barely any floor space left now (the shelves would not be needed if not for the clutter, but about 1/3 of it belongs to her ex-hubby who is to remove it at some point).
At least she's a presentation freak, and stresses "hiding" the crap away (ie basement or other closets).
.
The problem could be significantly relieved if she was willing to throw some of the crap away... nevermind stop buying stuff from the HSN that she does not end up using.
.
Thanks for the Link though, I'm going to print it out, and show it to my mother and say "this is going to be your house if you're not careful!".

Wow, what a mess that place is. I know as people get older they are more likely to hoard things but that is ridiculous

Holy shit dude, if I hadn't seen the outside of the house, that could have EASILY been my aunt's house.
My aunt and uncle both live in a 100 year-old farmhouse in Pennsylvania. It has the potential to be absolutely gorgeous. Pity there is only running water on the first floor. <stare> I'm not even going to go into detail about what they do to to stay clean.
Anyhow, my uncle goes to these mystery auctions and buys boxes of shit that he has no idea what's in them. He says someday he is going to open his own "general" store. So he has been buying these boxes of shit for at least the last 10 years. 2% of all the boxes he has bought have been opened. There are literally PATHS to get around from one side of the house to the other.
My aunt even owns birds, dove, to be exact. They all live in really large cockatiel cages, and their seed mess is EVERYWHERE.
Thank the good gawd that they don't have internet access or else I couldn't even imagine WHAT their place would look like if they discovered e-bay.
Oh, did I also mention that they have two, yes TWO entire BARNS full of path-laden box forests too?
Going back there is a blast because we go over there to visit them and tear through the boxes. I've taken home dozens of lovely vintage jewelry pieces and antique hats, but DAMN...I couldn't live like that, its frightening.
I sent the link to my mom (who is going to a psychiatrist to deal with her spending habits, cause she collects all sorts of shit too, just not to that degree) to threaten her as to what COULD happen if this whole psychiatrist thing doesn't work out. :D

Yeah he admitted that he was living at home. That's not really the point though. Even if he wasn't, that house is still a disaster.

It's not his house to bitch about in the first place. If she's happy collecting shit and keeping it in her house who's it really hurting besides the kid that isn't living on his own?
That is alot of crap though.

Well yeah TOJ and we could talk about every other thing "potentially" wrong with the situation, but it was just supposed to be a funny thread.
No need to be such a piss in the punchbowl kinda guy so often.
Have a coke and a smile or something.

holy crap that looks like my best friend's moms house. She has OCD and goes on these spurts of buying shit from ebay and various auctions all over. She's also convinced it's worth a lot of money and she'll make millions from it all.
People are weird.

God. That is so disgusting. Im so sorry. People like that should have shorter lifespans. Wait, the fat buildup in the blood means they probably do. Ok, goodie.
