Voldermort logs on a few times a day... I hunt with him out in Trali quite often, actually.

Must be a different person, the one I knew was a girl.

Perhaps if you looked at Voldermort, you'd see the character is indeed, male.

Well, do you know Voldermort or you have something to complain about him. The character is a He.

Yes, the character is still played from time to time. He is owned by a female; myself. What is your complaint?

My friend last night said that you sold him something and claimed that it was 5x enchanted, but in reality it was +21. This was a few weeks ago. If that is the case, thats really sad and you should stop.

If this claim is true, then someone has some major explaining to do.
Also, it would be nice if you provided some actual proof in the form of a log(s) your friend's name, the item in question, and so forth claim.

Even if an item is +21 and not +25, it is still is considered 5X.
Test it at the crystal in the AI and you should see that.

Last I checked a +21 or +22 would be considered 4.5x.
Thats why, you know, Imflass being +6 is considered 2.5x and not 3x.

I know she said AI, but that doesn't really reflect on bartering between players.
If I was advertising that I was looking to purchase a 5x falchion and I ended up getting Vultite +1 I'd be pretty pissed off that it wasn't +25, you know?
I'm just saying that I could see someone being mad about paying for 5x and getting something that is only +21. Kind of important to disclose that whole "Its only +21" bit to them when you sell it, don't you think? :)

Isn't Imflass +12?

Well either way, since DEV did not have her account active at the time, we can safely say his 'friends' claim is utter bullshit.
Skirmisher

Perhaps to you. However to an enchanter, no.
There is no such thing as .5x in enchanting.
As a buyer you have to know this.
Hell I have played a total of less than 5 hours in the last six months and I still know this.
And this is all simply in the general sensel as I have absolutely no knowledge of what was or was not sold and if it was or was not as described in the complaint.

There are also a couple different characters with a name similar sounding to DEV's. You might want to check that.

If I bought 5x double leather from somebody and it ended up only being +21 that would be some serious bullshit.
I may have been gone for only a few years, but I distinctly remember .5x increments being tossed around in Elanthian lingo. :)
Well, I myself have not played Voldermort since I reactivated the account. He is being played by someone else, whom I feel I can trust and I'm trying to find out if these claims are true.
If what you say is true then there is a problem...

Hey, your call to be annoyed at what you wish.
Always remember the saying "caveat emptor" and ASK questions.
Never assume an item is anything unless you have asked a direct question about it.

But shouldn't sellers also have the integrity to be straightforward enough about their merchandise that a buyer shouldn't have to ask them "You're not trying to screw me, are you?"

Thats buisness my friend, I suppose its a merchants prerogative.
Oh, and shit happens. Try and clean up the mistake but don't go around willy nilly accusing.

As I said.
As long as you make sure to define the terms of sale then all should leave the transaction content.
If you or anyone else fails to do that then they are opening themselves up to dissapointment.
Take the advice or do not.

I'll find out more from my friend when he gets home. If it wasn't you on the account then its not that big of a deal. Sometimes people who don't play as much make mistaKes concerning items and what not. I gave my friend some coins, so its blown over some.

:) You are quite correct and I don't approve of anything like this happening as far as my character is concerned. I'm still waiting on both people to give me additional info. If it turns out that the item was sold as stated, I'll do what I need to straighten things out.

Will do, I'll ask him the specifics when I get home. Though I doubt that he actually has a log of the situation at hand. And it very well may be that it was someone with a similar name to you.
Thanks for the concern though.

Not to defend or protect anyone here (I'm sure they can all do that themselves) but in the past I've sold items like this mistakenly.
A +21 item shows up as 5x from the AI crystal. Most of the time, I cannot find a bard or warrior to look something over for me, so I must go strickly off the AI information. When something like this happens, you should confront the person privately first. If it was an honest mistake, it can be fixed no harm no foul. If they act the ass about it, then call them out publicly. Take things in steps. It saves a lot of effort and trouble.

Another helpful tip. In the long run, +4 AS will not help you if your character totally sucks.

Or, and here's a shocker I know, you could find out ALL the details including (gasp) being 100% positive on the persons name that screwed your friend before coming to a message board to start crap. It would make your life so much easier if you had all your shit straight first. As it is, if you did make a mistake on the person's name, you owe Dev a huge apology.

I'll help him out. If he says he's sorry to her, I'll sacrifice myself up to giving her the hugs and smooches.
I know, I know. It's hard for me too. But I'm willing to make the sacrifice for my fellow man. :saint:

I was seeing it as him looking into an issue for his friend, but for some reason when I saw this...

... and wondered why a stranger is okay but DeV it wouldn't have been. Just seemed like the friend gave him a reason to come here and incite something.
Next time, I think it's best to let the friends handle their own affairs and problems. If he's big enough to buy something from someone else, he's big enough to take care of it when it falls apart.

It's because she's gay
I also found it interesting, CT. I'm not willing to devote alot of time and energy into going back and forth about something as minuscule as this. People know my character and he has a pretty solid reputation in game. He's never misrepresentated an item he's sold and I'd like it to remain that way.
I will say, he most certainly could have addressed this with me via U2U. Why he choose the alternate route is beyond me, oh wait, no it isn't.
I also haven't heard back from a certain someone who's been playing Vold for me so i'm waiting on either one to substantiate something or nothing, either way.

That's funny, because the AI Crystal is not an enchant classifier. The people who use this argument are retarded, to say the least. The crystal is nothing more than a range determiner (21-25 fall into the same range - YOU are labeling it 5x).
Just as an additional detail that might have caused confusion, isn't Klaive the proud owner of the original Voldemort character name in GS? I wouldn't put it past him, personally.
