Well, my shaman has reached the age of Talent points. After looking through them all, I see a few different paths I could take that could be fun. Currently, I'm leaning twords beefing up my shocks and chain lightning for lots of upfront damage and putting a few points into enhancement for the longer fights. Any shaman players (Park?) willing to share their talent spec and any background info they have (do and do nots, etc).

Thanks.

Hm.. Give me more insight to your shaman. Weapon choice, shield, style of play?

Well, he's on a PvE server, so I don't expect having to fight for my life with other players (unless I choose too.) He's mainly going to be an instance hound/semi-tank. I was wanting, as I said to use shocks and chain lightning for a large shot of damage up front (read before they get to me), then finish off tanking creatures. If I do get into pvp, I figure I'll shock/lightning, then ground them and kite them with shock and lightning ;)

He uses mace and board right now. I don't think I'll be going two hander. I'd rather keep the extra defence and make up for the damage loss with instant cast damage spells (ie shock, again..).

I guess I'm just a fan of the shock spells! Heh.

Shocks spells are great, but don't rely on magic soley. You won't have the mana for them. Also, gotta remember chain lightening creates a LOT of threat, so if you're using that spell, you're probably in a group.. If not, you're humped.

Keeping that in mind, I love shock spells. They are awesome combat support tool. What I did is sink 5 in concussion, 5 convection, 5 in reveberation, and 3 so far in call of thunder and I am going down that chain.

Seeing as though I have a hardon for my axe and sword I also sunk 5 in shield spec. 2 in improved ghost wolf (THIS WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE A LOT, at least in a PvP server) and 3 in improved stone skin totem (since I do like to tank)

Have any questions on those feel free to ask.

I'm playing around on a char build sight right now, and I think I like what I'm getting..but there is one thing I can't make a choice on. As I've never been higher then I am now as a shaman..I don't know which biter skill to boost. I've got 4 points I need to spend in that tree, and I could boost two weapon biters. Wind is an 11% damage boost, which is a large jump when viewed with the others. But I can see ice being very useful in rooting things while swinging (damn runners!).

I can't figure out which to do!

This is the build so far :

Enhancement Mastery

Ancestral Knowledge Rank 5
Shield Specialization Rank 5
Improved Ghost Wolf Rank 2
Improved Lightning Shield Rank 3
Anticipation Rank 5
Parry Rank 1
Enhancement Total: 21

Elemental Mastery

Concussion Rank 5
Convection Rank 5
Call of Thunder Rank 5
Reverberation Rank 5
Elemental Fury Rank 1
Elemental Total: 21

I need to drop 4 more points into enhancement to get to Toughness (which I've always used with any tank-ish build). Any ideas on which biter is the best?

I personally enjoy using the rockbiter one. You won't need the ice one as frostshock slows runners down easily and it is ranged. Lighting shield is also nice since you will ALWAYS have it on.

Looking at the shock talents, I'm thinking about not getting the last one. 5 points to remove 1 second of cool down? I think I can live with one more second. Any counter arguments?

None since you arn't on a pvp server ;)
