Well I like the new messaging that lets me know its working, I think.

Not sure how many dings its going to take for it to pay back 500K though. Haven't taken a really big shot to the arm yet and since I'm in full plate it doesn't seem to be reducing that much.

Its supposed to reduce slashing damage by 1/3. Don't know if that includes criticals or just fancy damage padding.

Some black leather arm greaves partially deflects the onslaught of the slashing attack.
A festering taint claws at you!
AS: +416 vs DS: +309 with AvD: +7 + d100 roll: +28 = +142
... and hits for 3 points of damage!
Weak slash to your right arm.
That doesn't even sting.

A gremlock claws at you!
AS: +407 vs DS: +327 with AvD: +7 + d100 roll: +25 = +112
... and hits for 2 points of damage!
Hard blow, but deflected.
Not much damage.

<<Its supposed to reduce slashing damage by 1/3.>>

That's uh...

Like wearing a +33% redux item.

I find myself growing quite jealous.

If a half-krolvin wore the 1/3 cold damage reducing one, it would be kind of ub3r I guess

It sounds uber but it only affects the one area and that one type of damage.

It won't help for puncture, crush, impact, fire, ice, void, and all those other crazy damage types on that list he had.

There are tons of claws and blades in Old Ta'Faendryl but even the blades can do puncture and crush damage.

Not sure whether to get impact or crush padding on my head/neck for when griffins do airdrops.

No.

It has heavy crit padding and then an additional layer for the damage type you choose.

Drogur said so.

And a visored helm will protect more than one area.

Why are you wearing armor accessories with full plate?

Ah. On his Illistim visit he didn't say more than 3 sentences. None of which mentioned the padding. Good to know!

And my rogue is wearing an armor accessory because well I have it and the plate itself is just 4x.

Once they re-did the changes, now it just uses your best padding for each area. So if you are wearing 4x no padded plate, with a heavily crit padded helm and you get hit in the head, it counts as heavily crit padded.

When asked if there were any other special properties besides the specified type being added.

Drogur says, "They are basic armor, to which I'll add my special padding."
