This is actually inspired by some movie my mom was watching and crying over (weird parents). Ok and you totally have to ignore dates and years and just put yourself into the hypothetical situation... Say your father was accused of war crimes in Germany and when you do some digging you find out that it was true and discover pictures of him killing a boy, raping his mother, and killing his father... what would you do in that place?

Yeah I'd be caught between killing him or turning him in.

Well i would turn him in .. Ihave children and i care about others.. letting him run about wouldnt be a good thing.. He might do it again and then where would you be .. you had the power to stop it from happening to someone else.. I mean its like this..If someone Rapes you and you say NOTHING about it and that person goes on to rape again.. how would you feel ? I personally would feel terrible and at fault for not doing something to stop him.. Father , brother , Grandpa..whoever turn the SOB in !

Well in the movie he was supposed to be a Nazi during World War II. She turns him in.. well, sends the pictures to the police.

I hate my father too. If I'd seen him when I was a teenager, I probably would have taken a baseball bat to him. But I'm a little calmer now... a little... I'd just turn him in.

Hypothetically, if I loved my father and I was in that situation, the shock would be so fresh and raw that I probably would attack him. If I didn't kill him before the shock wore off, I'd then turn him in. If I did kill him, I'd say that he attacked me first. Given his violent record as a precedent for his obvious instability, I'd probably be acquitted.

Do I need to explain why I would never be involved in such a hypothetical situation, or what I would do?

how could you say he would be the same person you knew.. when he had hidden that he raped and murdered people.. If that makes him the same as you i think you are a sick person.. Just my own opinion

I would have to turn him in, even if I loved him dearly. Those who suffered because of him deserve retribution.

I'd congratulate him on a job well done.

How did I know you were going to say that, Bob?

I'd wonder why he took pictures.

lol... good point. I guess just chalk it up to the nazi's were proud of what they were doing and didn't think they'd lose the war.

Yeah...then I'd turn him in, because he was stupid enough to not only take the pictures, but keep them in the house.

Really, people that stupid don't deserve to not be in prison.

Kidding me? If he was a Nazi I'd call the cops and scream and cry at him and tell him what a disgusting human being he is.

I would ask Anticor. He would know how to handle it.

Blood is not thicker than water in my book. I have friends I love more than family. You have to earn respect and my friendship, being related does NOT equate automatically to this.

You can never go wrong with that logic.

I would not turn him in. I love my father, I've learned from my father. I represent my father in this generation.

I would confront my father and that would be it. I can not put myself in his shoes in that time when he did those things. I would be dissappointed to find that even my father's armor has chinks and I would lose some respect for him but he would always be my father.

He has to live with what he did. I have to live knowing what I know. I don't want to reopen wounds in these peoples lives.

I would ask him why because in everything, I have this urge to understand. When he was done explaining, I would ask if he regrets.

I don't know if I could forgive him, that's the kind of thing you can't say for sure until it happens to you. If I couldn't, I'd walk away.

But I would not turn him in.

I dont know what id do. My first instinct is to turn him in but my father gave me a lot of things growing up (love shelter food security saftey, etc) So id have to ask him about it first and then with the answers figure it out. What if the pics werent enough to convict him of anything and you turned him in and they let him go? Yikes, you just flushed your relationship down the toilet and no good came of it. Id like to think id turn him but i dunno what id do if it really happened.

I think Anticor missed the joke.

Or I read a joke where there was none.
