The sheer amount of mud, and the press of filthy swaying bodies, are what first clue you in that something isn't quite right. Looking around, you find that you're in a crowd of people, and it's suddenly both insanely hot and miserably humid. It's also loud. In front of you, somehow, there's a very un-Elanthian looking stage, which seems to have a bunch of angry young people on it, who are approximating singing, but barely. There's a lot of crowd noise, and someone throws a bottle of beer at the stage just as you see a large multicolored plastic beach ball bounce across your line of sight. Judging from the reek of alcohol and body sweat, and the very guitar-focused (quote unquote) music, you seem to have found yourself at Lollapalooza, and... not during one of the good years. If you want to escape this early 2000s nightmare of bands that are not as good as Nirvana was on their worst day, you should T3LL mE wh at color your pick is.

Very close that time. Please make sure your are attentive at all times on all characters that are making gains. Have a nice day!

Not trying to be rude here, I like the creativity of the script check, but at first when I was reading it I thought it just might be one of those random flavor texts that go off sometimes, but then I happened to catch the word "Lollapalooza" and I was like "Okay that doesn't sound very in game." So I started to read the entire paragraph within 5 seconds of first noticing it and by the time I got to the actual script check part I was confused to what it was even referring to because when I saw "pick" I thought lockpick, but this character isn't a rogue, so then I thought "Oh his skinning weapon", which I wasn't holding by the time I finished reading the whole paragraph so I had to look for it, and by the time I found it I finally answered what color the pick was. Even then with all of this I answered the script check within a minute, 90 seconds tops. I'm not sure how fast we are expected to answer these script checks but 90 seconds doesn't seem very long at all.

I posted all of the above to Discord as well.

I mean sheesh, I don't think 90 seconds is very long all things considered. I wonder just how fast they expect us to answer these script checks?

And a GM removed the post on Discord. I don't see why to be honest.

Was it in monsterbold?

And also, they should let you reply in any gibberish. If a script is smart enough to notice that and respond, just let it go, it is more attentive than most players that are at their keyboard.

Perhaps you could set up a button / macro that pauses all your scripts on all your characters. The idea is to hit it at the first sign of anything suspicious that you need to read or respond to. To buy time you could then say something that works in any context e.g. "Huh. One sec."

And then take the time to read and properly respond.

"Blue, wait no, yellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!"

Honestly, not that I scripted at all when I played, but if I saw that wall of text utterly OOC I wouldn't even know what to do.

And everyone knows the real Lollapalooza died in the late 90's.

I mean, it’s not really fair to compare bands to Nirvana as they are a once in a generation musical masterpiece & influence to culture.

The 2003 Lollapalooza lineup was quite good with its headliners: Jane’s Addition, Audioslave, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle, and more.

Whoever wrote this script check was/is stuck in the grunge era and obviously wasn’t getting any nookie in the early 2000s.

Last Lollapalooza I went to was the fated 1996 show. Saw the Ramones live in what would be one of their last shows, as their final show was less than 3 weeks later.

Word and glad you got to see them.

I turned 13 in ‘96 and was a suburban white kid wannabe gangsta that believed 2Pac faked his own death. My musical journey into rock music had not even started.

Yeah, I was 16, and even though I had been to quite a few concerts already, that was a cherry-popping moment for me. This script check has definitely cut into my productivity this morning!

No monsterbold.

I did say at one point "Hold on a second, let me check." or something like that just to let the GM know I was there and looking for an answer.

Yup yup, I have a macro that stops all active scripts on my characters and runs them to a safe room.

I got the same check yesterday asking about the color of my trousers. I just did a quick 'Tap trou" to get an answer but in hindsight I wish I took them off, yelled none, and ran away...

Only script check I ever got was some little boy started following me around, pestering me and then asked if he could borrow my weapon for something. I kept telling him to go away and also said no, but because I didn't use ANSWER to respond I failed the script check. When GMs do stupid shit like this, they fucking suck.

They should sell a "get out of a script check free card" in the simu store that you can buy for $20 and makes you exempt from script checks for 30 days.

They would charge a lot more than $20 for such an amazing feature.

That's the thing...they don't want you to. They hope you don't notice it in the scroll so they can have their gotcha moment.

Is Itzel still around? That's who I always think of when I think of retarded obsession script checks just based on various posts on here over the years.

Do they still not do anything other than throw some weird messaging into the middle of screen scroll? Seems like it should have something included to make sure their dumb messaging doesn't get lost in the scroll like forced RT and/or monsterbold or something.

I'm curious why they removed it from Discord though. I mean I'm sure almost anyone can guess why, but still. What a bunch of fucking losers

Itzel's shit was retarded because she didn't know how forging worked I guess. She counted unprompted forging messages as script inputs, so she would bust people who weren't even using scripts sometimes. Then when Wyrom clarified the policy for that she then started hiding tiny messages in the scroll.

Yes, but I've seen plenty of posts from after that where Itzel decided to keep being retarded anyway.

Roundtime: 30 sec.

YOUR SURROUNDINGS GET UNPLEASANTLY HOT AND BECOME OVERCAST IN AN ORANGE GLOW. AT FIRST IT LOOKS PRETTY, BUT THEN YOU REALIZE EVERYTHING AROUND YOU IS ON FIRE. ACTUALLY, YOU ARE ALSO ON FIRE. YOU VAGUELY RECALL LEARNING THAT IN THIS VERY SITUATION, YOU SHOULD STOP, DROP, AND ROLL. HOWEVER, THE GROUND IS ALSO ON FIRE SO YOU DOUBT THAT WILL HELP. AS SUCH, YOU NEED TO ********SCREAM THREE TIMES******** IMMEDIATELY.
>

>You scream!
>You scream!
>You scream!

Just kidding. You're not on fire. What an imagination you have!

You take a deep breath, and look around with renewed vigor. It is good to be alive, and an adventurer in this land.

First check I've had in 5 years. They're going around apparently.
