Anyhow, as I have been saying, MAGA has always been a national socialist movement.

We need 7 million affordable homes in America and 20% of America’s landmass is owned by the Department of Interior. Today, @SecretaryBurgum (https://x.com/SecretaryBurgum)
and I are announcing a partnership between @HUDgov (https://x.com/HUDgov)
& @Interior (https://x.com/Interior)
to identify and open under utilized federal lands for affordable housing.

The history and origins of the internet include foundations from the DoD. See ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). The private sector later invested into the technology and made it into the global network we know today. I suspect AI will have a similar path in its development.

I don’t see that being a nationalist socialist movement. Now if the government starts placing bureaucrats on the board of Nvidia leading the direction of the company and creates a single nationalized labor union, I will start agreeing with you.

I'm using "national socialist" in a general descriptive term and not in the "national socialist" historical funny moustache guy way.

Elon did an interview with Cruz that may be worth watching. Basically we have 10 years before 50% of the workforce is replaced by AI and robotics. There's very limited options on how we deal with that many idle hands that aren't morally fucked upped options.

Gotcha.

Elon is a genius and I’m not qualified to challenge him, but I somewhat disagree. AI will make many jobs obsolete, no doubt. Just like the beginning of agriculture, industrialization, or the infancy of the PC before AI, humans will adapt to the change. New jobs will be created and productivity will increase. What that exactly looks like, I don’t know, but I believe it will be neither as negative as a 1984 dystopia nor as positive as The Jetsons. It will be somewhere in between.

3) You: MAGA IS A NATIONALIST SOCIALIST GROUP!

The world is already a dystopia. The top 1% live completely different than everyone else. They have no clue what it is like to grind out a living day to day on the ground and in the streets. Everyone not in the top 1% or the bottom 20% are the indifferent bourgeoisie. Thats us. Comfortable enough not to give a shit that the top continues to hoard more and more for themselves while other people on the planet die from war or hunger. Make sure we earn just enough to buy a house, have internet, and access to things like Oreo cookies 24/7, dangle that carrot of ultra-wealth and we fall right in line for what they want.

Back, you should read stories about someone dirt poor winning a multimillion jackpot lottery / game of chance. There are lots of them if you look. Spoiler: A dramatic change in wealth didn’t improve their lives for the longterm nor made them happy.

I'm in the top 6% of American's. Life is pretty good for dystopia.

Here's a breakdown of the minimum net worth required to be in different top wealth percentiles in the U.S.:

Top 10%: ~$1.6 million
Top 9%: ~$1.9 million
Top 8%: ~$2.2 million
Top 7%: ~$2.5 million
Top 6%: ~$2.9 million
Top 5%: ~$3.4 million
Top 4%: ~$4.1 million
Top 3%: ~$5.1 million
Top 2%: ~$6.6 million
Top 1%: ~$11.1 million

These numbers are estimates based on Federal Reserve data and other wealth distribution reports. Wealth includes assets like real estate, stocks, businesses, and savings, minus liabilities. Let me know if you need a more detailed breakdown!

Oh, I forgot to mention. I worry about retiring, both my wife and I work. We mow our own yard, paint our own house, walk our own dogs and buy our own groceries. Occasionally for a treat we go out to eat. My sin is I collect vintage bourbons. She's an immigrant and only knows how to save money and be the sweetest person in the world without blue hair, a dick, and nose ring. Also, her entire family of 8 emigrated to the united states legally, and most started jobs at minimal wage positions like mcdonalds because they didn't speak english. She came from of a socialized medicine country and goes on and on about how it was hell.

I’ve got beautiful amazing kids. I’ve got a a loving good-tempered wife that is a stone-cold fox. I’m blessed to have the means to provide a great quality of life for my family. I have close loyal friends that I enjoy spending time with. Every day has purpose and meaning. Without even mentioning wealth, my so-called dystopia is pretty fucking awesome if I’m being honest.

That is not to say that I never have bad days, or get in an argument with my wife / kids / friends. Sometimes I have a rough day at work. I find it important that I remember my problems are small, and to be grateful for my many blessings.

So because the top 1% live completely different than everyone else means we live in a dystopia? Shut the fuck up already. Holy fucking shit.

Less than 100 years ago you were either the "top 1%" or you were poor as fuck, barely being able to afford the basic necessities of life. Now look at us, people like you who clearly aren't part of the 1% have so many luxuries in life that you can post whining shit like this from the comfort of your climate controlled dwelling from your smart phone, all the while knowing that you are less than 20 miles away from the best healthcare the world has ever known in case you have a medical need.

I'm not saying the world is perfect, but it is far from a "dystopia", especially if you live in a modern Western country such as the US.

The smart thing for Musk to do would be to wind down his participation in the Trump Administration by the end of this year. In the 2026 midterms, Republicans will likely lose control of one of both houses of Congress. At that point, Musk should not want still to be in the spotlight, a position from which he would be answerable for his conduct.
