How does this look to you more experienced meat shields? My understanding of Influence is that it is *NOT* important to a Warrior so I left it as the lowest of the stats at character creation so that every other important stat could be capped.

This will allow me to have 46 PTPs and 41 MTPs at character creation. Since this will be a relatively low number of TPs I was thinking of concentrating only on Two Handed Weaponry instead of OHE, Shields, 2HW, and more.

How much should be put into Dodging? I imagine that Combat Maneuvers should be 2x, armor should be 2x or 3x if possible.

Help me out here. :)

You're never gonna make it to 100 with this character (if I'm wrong I'll buy you a coke). Place your stats for TPs, you'll be happier.

Happiness isn't really a factor in it, to me. I don't so much mind a difficult life so long as the outcome is good. I realize that early life would be difficult, but I think it will be managable.

Other than "don't do this" is there any advice you could offer, Drew? :)

P.S. I'd rather have a Mountain Dew

P.P.S. I'm at work right now anyway, so its not like I could create the character to begin with. Just doing some number crunching is all. ;)

I concur with Drew, you would be MUCH better off placing stats for TP's. Naturally you could drop that SOME, and still have the tp's, and still get close to all 100's.

I say roll it..., and TRY playing it ... it won't be hard, it will be a fucking heart attack waiting to happen.

When you use FIXSKILLS you don't get to reallocate stat points do you?

But you still get those 5 re-distributions you can use if you go to an inn and CHECK IN?

Well my advice is that more TPs will make for more fun. As far as stats, INF is least important, dodging sould probably be 2x for a THW warrior, I wouldn't want to go below that. If you are planning to mstrike (or swing a claidhmore/greatsword) I would probably bump my dex and agi stats up to at least a combined 23 bonus earlier which will give you 2 seconds off RT.

They deleted the stat reallocates.

So how would you place stats for TPs rather than for end-game uberability?

Just one calculation with 10,000 iterations:

CO 98
DE 96
DI 70
LO 69
IT 27
ST 97
AG 90
IF 23
WI 21
AU 69

{At train zero}
PTP = 57 / MTP = 35

{At train 100 stats}

CO 100
DE 100
DI 98
LO 84
IT 79
ST 100
AG 100
IF 75
WI 65
AU 91

==============================================

NOTES: IMHO ... drop IT to 20 and INF to 20, use those 10 in WI to increase your TD. IF you go COL, you may wish more then the 7 spirit that you will get from train zero.

I tend to play with the numbers for sometime, until I am happy with what I see both at the current train, and at train 100. When I look, the TP's are a huge factor.

Not sue this helps, but I hope that it does.

This is all such good information. Do any of you have a link to a list of how many armor trains you need to wear particular types of armor?

EDIT: Oh yeah! If I don't plan on hiding/ambushing is it still possible to 1x in ambushing and still be able to target specific body parts while unhidden?

To give you an idea of my take on things, this is what my main character's stats will be when he hits 100. I just don't think putting 1 level (your last) ahead of 99 levels makes sense. By the time you are 100 you shouldn't have much of problem hunting OTF, it's not like the 100s will really matter.

STR 100
CON 94
DEX 100
AGL 100
DIS 87
AUR 72
LOG 88
INT 100
WIS 97
INF 53

As long as you have a decent amount of CM training you could get away with about .25x or .5x ambush training to hit what you want from the open.

I would test that theory Drew, with the bug correction, I did see some differences in open ambush abilty.

With the bug fix, then, is 1x or more required instead of .25x or .5x?

If you are rolling a fresh char, run it to train 10/15/ 20 would be better, and test it. I can't do that for you as all mine only get the one fixskills, while your new character will have a 30 day migration.

All new characters get a 30 day migration or is it only for people who have re-activated an old account?

Aside from higher enchanted armor, what can be done to assist a claidh-swinger's DS?

EDIT: I do mean DS from an offensive stance as I'm assuming that they have to rely heavilly on their high trains in physical fitness for ReDux, Dodging trains, and Combat Maneuvers...

It just sucks that at level 1 I have an 8 DS in offensive stance. Damn rat hit me for 12 damage. Sure I have over 50 blood, but damn. Glad it was a rat.

More dodge.

And as much redux as possible, because you need it.

How do I get "as much redux as possible"?

I currently have my training schedule set up so that I'm 3x in Armor, 3x in Physical Fitness, 2x in Combat Maneuvers, and 2x in Dodging.

Tripling PF is the plan for redux. I'd triple armor until you reach MBP (80 ranks) then cool it to 2.5x at most. Full plate (140 ranks) is a lonng way away.

Placing stats for growth is not crippling, mainly because GS just isn't that hard, especially in the low (most difficult from a growth perspective) levels where there are about a bajillion things to hunt.

I place stats for fun/TP. Far more important than the arbitrary thought of capping.
