Since it seems to be the current fad, what do you people think of the anti-bard.

I think he needs to learn how to spell.

I think Soulpieced makes too much of himself as an asshole. Soulpie-the-character makes me think that he thinks it's cool to be an asshole and the more he acts like one, the more people will respect him.

Dunno 'bout the player.

Peam's jealous because I haven't invited him to any parties yet.

Soulpieced always has came off to me as a lil cocky and arrogent. Anytime Jenisi would try to talk to him in the tower or anywhere else he'd just ignore me. Never could figure out if he has something against me or what not. Not a bad guy, just a lil high in the clouds.

Wasn't there an old bard named Heartpieced? Any relation?

I think that was Heartpierced, but I may be wrong. Would not be the first time. ;)

I think he should give me all his uber items.

No relation to Heartpierced. He is another giantman bard who has been playing for a long time.

I respect SP simply because he did it the old fashioned way, and is well known for not bowing down to the Premium Juggernaut, nor going to eBay for coinage, yet still being quite wealthy.

While he's never one of the olds I'd consider approachable, and I did think your arguments on MIU when you got the Bard pavis was stupid, I do have a respect and liking for the person (as I've never met the character).

I rather enjoyed the tantrum that was thrown when you won the bard pavis and realized you couldn't use it yet.

To be fair, if you are 100+ and have no Scroll Reading or MIU...its your own fault.

09-24-2003, 02:40 PM
I Think he needs to carry more expensive gems in open containers. Jesus, how is a rogue supposed to make money now adays.

He's not actually a Bard. But I like him, in spite of that.

.

If you took a poll of the bards over 100 at the time (approximately 8), 2 of them had more than 15 ranks of MIU.

Lack of fore-sight springs to mind.

All of us got over 100 somehow... there's a reason there was, and still only ~15 bards over 100.

StrayRogue

Yes, and I respect you for that. I still think its pretty dumb for you to have had no MIU training though. Or atleast 15 ranks.

Feel free to tell me the viable use of magic item use before GP3. Oak wands and.....

StrayRogue

Any wands period. How about the fact that the changes that did happen, were generally always known to be going to happen. MIU isn't exactly ultra expensive for bards. At those levels, I'd say you have points to spare.

Soulpieced
09-24-2003, 11:25 PM
Any wands?! What use do I have in wands that require additional spell aiming to have any use, or sorcerer based CS wands when I can't ward anything my age with my own elemental spells, let alone another circle. Again, there was NO incentive at all to train in MIU. And with all of the CM ranks I had, there sure as hell weren't any spare points.

I think I might have roleplayed a requirement for learning to use the newly acquired pavis. Considering its magical qualities it would make sense, from a roleplaying standpoint, that one would need time to learn to focus that magic to its ultimate purpose. That would have given you time to train the necessary MIU skills.

That is how I might have handled it, but each person will react differently.

HarmNone thought each pavis was very cool

I was ~ level 118 at the time and Ithzir didn't exist. Do the math... the soft cap back then was either 143 or 138, I forget which.

StrayRogue

Simply, you lacked fore-sight, then bitched about it when they actually made a use for the skill.

Was Soulpieced in the Mayor's office in the Landing the night they found him (the mayor) floating in the river?

Trying to remember something.

No, Soulpieced does not partake in brown-nosing quests. Especially that pathetic mayor bullshit. Completely not surprised it turned out like it did.

Yeah, it would have required quite a bit of dedication and rearranging of priorities. Some things would have suffered, there is no doubt. It would depend on your character and whether or not that character was the type to be so single-minded. I hear ya about the problem you faced, though. :)

Umm... I guess I'm really confused now. I thought Soulpieced didn't want the Griffon Sword put back together.

Oh... think it was Songowl... nevermind. Got my compound names mixed up! So, I can't comment on Soulpieced at all.

We now return you to our normal thread...

Heartpierced is an Elf.

Actually the Mayor storyline isn't over. The rest is supposed to be coming eventually, but with all this GS4 shit I'm sure everything else is being put on the back burner. I think something happened in Plat though but I'm not sure.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of Bonehitter. For some reason I thought Bonehitter was a giant and HP was an Elf. Bah.

If you are a semi and double in CM, the TPs are tight!

I have only 16 spells at level 20, and a single rank in hiding.

I still think it's well worth it though.
