Was there an update somewhere that busted the forum because I can only get it to display correctly on internet explorer, it looks broken when trying to view on chrome or edge.

It looks fine for me on FireFox and I just checked it on Edge and it looked fine there too.

I've had issues like that with Brave browser before, but only that browser. Which makes sense, because it was recommended to me by a friend of mine whose recommendations in any category always suck.

So I'm not sure what you're seeing, but I've been having an issue with this for the last few months. It was only loading properly on my work laptop. My phone and personal laptops have been rendering things so oddly that it's basically unusable.

Good news is a friend of mine literally just helped me figure out what was going on today. The SSL (https) version of the Forum isn't loading properly. You have to use http address. (Nothing concerning at all here folks)

Try that and see if it helps

It's doing the same for me in both Chrome and Edge. I tried using Http, but get nothing at all. Is there any way to fix this? Is it something wrong with the site, or some update in Chrome that broke things?

http worked for me as well, thanks for that tip. Forum worked fine on Firefox but not Chrome for me.

i had to change computers recently also, I can not get chrome to work as time4fun said it's pretty much unusable. I do not see an https in the address that I can adjust to just http.. I'm fine with using edge though cause it's not that bad.

hmm, that came up with some kinda firewall thing. I dont have a firewall that i'm aware of unless it's a chrome plugin or a part of windows 11

to clarify, i just copied and pasted your link directly into chrome to see if it'd take it.

I disabled chrome updates (same with Windows 10 updates) - most of it is garbage that doesn't improve functionality for the user. The updates generally tend to remove functionality and adds shitty popup crap from chrome asking you to constantly login or it moves options to a different location or renames them or just removes them so you can't find or using them anymore. It's like Chrome and Windows are in cahoots, they just add/remove shit that isn't necessary to fuck with the users.

Last update for me on chrome was on version 114.something that came out back in June of this year.

My wife still likes using chrome and out of habit I tend to open it more often than I do firefox (like I did this morning, I'm currently using chrome). I have no issues viewing PC with my version of chrome.

No longer works on Chrome mobile or Brave browser for me. Frankly, it's not worth the effort to try and accommodate this increasingly outdated forum, Probably a fitting end.

It's really not an effort at all to get on here.

Even Seran is able to do it.

I can say first hand that Brave browser makes these forums impossible. It's like one step above source code.

Works just fine on Netscape Navigator.

Brave is built on top of chrome code, isnt it?

for me the fix was as simple as switching my default browser to firefox.

Maybe, I have no idea. A friend of mine whose recommendations always suck recommended Brave, so I expected it to be a disaster just from that.

It really only had issues here though, every other site ran fine. Chrome and Firefox still display everything normally.

Looks like this forum breaks using Firefox in private browsing mode too, but is fine in normal mode. The only thing that displays correctly is "Today's Posts," until you click on a thread. The reputation page was a total disaster, then I went back again just now to grab a screenshot, and it's fine.

But yeah overall this forum is a train wreck.

No issues on Chrome though in both normal mode and incognito.

I have no idea why normal FF is loading ok but private mode isn't, with some random exceptions that also make no sense, i.e. page 1 of a thread is a wreck, the last page of the same thread looks fine, etc.

Kranar has abandoned us all forever. Or possibly perished.

The real question is: Why you gotta use private browsing? You are supposed to use private for porn and everything else regular mode.

Duh.

As far as these forums go.. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they just go "POOF" and then someone like Wesley will swoop in and save the day with a new forum.. but no one will go to it because no one likes Wesley and we will have to use this broken forum again.
