If armor has resistance to a damage type and an overlapping armor accessory has a weakness to the same damage type what is the result?

Are there armor accessories with weaknesses to damage types? I have never heard of one.

It seems more likely to have main armor with a weakness, and an armor accessory with resistance to that damage type. I have never used any armor with a weakness though.

A lot of old items that had big resistances would have something else they would be weak to. For example:

Very Heavily Resistant to Fire Damage - 30%
Moderately weakened to Cold Damage - 10%
