This was a long but fun duel. I cut a bunch of running around and me going Afk for 2 hours cause the old lady rented that stupid Lemony snickets or whatever and made me watch it. :( Boom had some help, or I think I would have had him. But I dont think it was Boom's fault. I would have done the same thing if I saw him geting owned like that too. Muahahahah !

Caught back up with him in the park and caught a slight case of death. It was the most fun I'v had in a while. Thanks Boom. :)

Murp was being nice and his involvement had no effect on the outcome of the duel.

That's funny. I didn't even notice that because I was just paying attention to Murp not casting spike thorn.

Boomsplat probably has stunman, so I don't see the dragging part as any help really. The other dude, yeah, maybe. Either way, Boomsplat is lucky he didn't get killed. I'm wondering if I would have helped him if I had any of my characters there, heh.

There's a good question: would you have helped Boomsplat, the "evil" Omens fellow, or just simply abstained from interferring and watched the fight if you were there?

Well, no matter if you'd like to help the jovial Boom or the evil Omens, it's best to just stay out of the way and watch. Considering they play tag often, fouling up their game and possibly getting them angry at you would be far from smart. :)

I cirtainly wouldn't have casted DC at a square. Even if he does have more mana than me.

Torment was the right way to go.

I'd probably stay out of it, unless I had no idea they were dueling and one of them kept quaking the park. :D

I'd watch and afterwards I'd see if I could get involved but I don't just rush in swinging because I don't know if it's an honor duel or what. Never is it my place to jump in between two people going toe to toe. Afterwards should I find it to be foul play from the person I care enough about to get involved then I will get involved.

Heh, what could you do against Omen's or Boom anyway?

Join one of them and tremor, haste, dispell, rapid fire, etc. I'd just be a support role.

DC or CMAN cutthroat would put a quick stop to that.

Best let them get on with it.

And remember taking the time to deal with me is enough time for whoever I'm helping to setup for a kill.

Operation MeatShield works in a pinch always remember that.

109, an ewave would be all you'd need. Both can cast one or the other.

Asha
07-14-2005, 11:02 AM
Heh you know what I'm going to say next man.

I won't though, becouse I can see how it would at least annoy the other party into making a mistake while dealing with you.

AnticorRifling

Exactly. Taking time to deal with me is enough of a distraction to give the party I'm helping enough of an edge. You have to know going into battle that you are expendable for the greater good. Survival of the clan/group/species over survival of the individual. And in a game where death is just an inconvience then I'm really going to commit to that genre of thinking. If we can win via me dying then baahhh I'm you're sacrifical lamb.

Yeah, I wouldn't have casted DC either. But... I don't think torment is the way to go while you have Murp attacking you.

I respect Murp and Omens for at least trying to defeat someone using many other skills rather than spike thorn or in Omens case, Implosion.

Asha

Probably the fines would have put them both off.
In both cases it would have been Endangering public safety and murder.
Either that or like you say, they were actually dueling for fun, not victory.

Next time...

1. Have your demon out, I assume you have illusions since your 81, but if not...then disregard this. Make sure its a demon who can find hidden/invis people.

2. Start with either ewave if he's your level or lower, or mind jolt.

3. Make hotkeys to debuff his TD..guarded curse first, then 413.

4. Now you can disable him...his TD should be 50 or so lower, that would make it your 420 vs his 280ish...which, ...you have to own him now. You can start with limb disrupt to keep him from running/hurting you...a leg and sword arm would be good, or just a leg if you wanna be quick. Now he still may be able to hide once the stuns wear off, but if you want to be extra safe a Nightmare at this point would bring him out of hiding every time for awhile.

4. After that you have a few choices, depending on his armor and class. Seems he may have been a ranger, DC would work okay, torment for extra flavor, or just a simple disintegrate or two. You have plenty of time now to get creative.

The key is getting that first attack in, and immobilizing him right away. You have to be fast as hell with this, especially since he's an ambusher.

Not to criticize too much but, you shouldnt have used evil eye so much...those were multiple valuable opportunities you wasted that could have easily won you the fight.

Just my 2bits. Feel free to disagree.

Personally I think it's BS to get involved REGARDLESS of who it is.. I have seen Akari (my chars mate) die more than once. But as it's rare that people mind their own business, it's not uncommon for people to jump it. However I really liked the way Omens used other spells than implosion.. especially because people like to whine about it

I never use implosion for that reason, plus its so boring. Way more fun to beat the shit out of them with multiple spells.
