Between Simu completely murdering the secondary market + Simu going full blown P2W now with how this past DR is/was (no idea if it's over yet) run, this might be the super duper for real final days this time, and I don't see Simu suddenly deciding to get their shit together after all this time.
Roblar cashing out is the canary in the coalmine, imo.
I cancelled my alt accounts this week and downgraded my main to Basic. I probably won't cash anyone out, but I'm not gonna pay for 1 premium and 2 basic accounts anymore either when there isn't jack shit that's meaningful to do that doesn't involve buying Simucoins once I realized that I'm hardly even playing from work anymore.
Hopefully Simu will pull some miraculous shit out of their ass, but that's like expecting Seran to not be retarded.

Someone told me the other day that at Duskruin you can now buy some item that lets you just flat out add +1 enchant to an item.
I was like "Really?" Because I was trying to sell them some enchanting juice and he said "Yeah but it's cheaper to just buy it at DR" and then told me about that.
Like what the fuck even anymore?
They introduce suffuse, an awesome mechanic that opens up a lot of possibilities for working on gear and making player services more valuable, then they release potions behind a paywall that allows people to just lower the difficulty of an item by 500.
At this rate we are just a few years out from a permanent NPC that will provide any service for any item for cash.

Since I'm honest to a fault, I tell people when they are better off buying these pots instead of paying for my suffuse. Have easily lost out on dozens of sales.

You don't even have to run arena anymore to get scrip. You can just buy books and then turn them in to some NPC for full bloodscrip.
The only reason I can think of as to why Simu decided that that was a good idea was because Simu's gonna Simu.
Look on the bright side, silvers are completely worthless now anyway, so you're not really missing out on anything by not enchanting stuff.

Wyrom did point out.... if you actually do the runs associated with a 25 count book (which is what the NPC took for the 5k experience) - you gained WAY more experience. You also lose out on all the loot when using the NPC, which was substantial.
The NPC was a "i don't have the time, but i still want to buy stuff" option for folks. Less rewards, but got the Bloodscrip.

Comparing apples to oranges. First, almost no one was sitting around till clear before doing another run, so the "way more" premise is largely inaccurate. Additionally, the more accurate comparison is to stick to people who don't have time to do the runs themselves. They weren't getting any experience out of books they were selling to other players who did have time, and getting zero EXP in return. That's me in that buyer group, buying from some of the people complaining here. Of course I'm going to take the BS at a set rate AND 5000 EXP per book. At one point I had 130,000+ EXP in my head, waiting to absorb. It took almost a week to get back to zero. There's no question it changes the game for a lot of people.
For me, the biggest drawback was that I had to wait a week to play with my new stuff. That and I spent too much.

At one point I had 130,000+ EXP in my head, waiting to absorb.
That's why this is almost the same thing as just giving someone instant experience. Someone can just load up on a million experience and let their character sit at a table 24/7 for 17 days and they will have gained 1 million experience. Someone could theoretically cap in just 130 days doing this and it's all perfectly fine as far as game rules go.
I couldn't believe it when I read the 5000 experience was stackable. I can understand refreshable, sure, but stackable? What even anymore?

Is there a limit? Like why do people even buy the expensive 10x pot then pay for enchanting if they can just buy this?
I guess if the item has a low difficulty it might still be cheaper to find a low level wizard, but for higher end stuff this seems to be the way to go.
Maybe this is why enchanting prices have fallen off a cliff lately, they have made it so easy to enchant everything.

Who was out there making 150m off of 1 enchant? I think it's weakened because everything is already 10x. Most people buying 150k BS enchant certs are applying them to gear that player enchant can't reach.

It's not 1 enchant, it's 5.
A couple years ago my high bonus wizard was selling essence for 100 silvers per point easily, that would be 90m to take an item from +45 to +50. I'm not sure how much a 10x pot is but isn't it like 20m? 110m including the pot.
Sure it's still cheaper to go with a player, but not really that much, but mostly I was referring to people who have more difficult items that would require some suffuse.
This probably explains why these days that same wizard is lucky to get 70 silvers per point, sometimes I have to let it go for 50. Selling enchants at DR puts a hard cap on prices flat out, then with those -500 difficulty potions it further depresses the value of wizard player services.

Yeah my wizard's bonus is 944 and sometimes I have to sell it for 50 per just to sell it so I don't have to suffuse it. I do get 70 per sometimes but even that is pretty rare these days.
I didn't even realize until a few months ago that those -500 difficulty potions for wizard enchanting is good for 5 casts, I thought it was just 1 cast each. So a 900 bonus wizard is just as good as a 400 bonus wizard if someone buys one of those pots first, which in many cases is more cost efficient to go that route.

Yes, and both +1 (30k) and +5 (150k) exist. They’re really for those projects where the difficulty is too high to justify the player cost for essence + suffuse + unlock potions. My bow was pretty tricked out and after GUB it was at something like 1300 difficulty. So my options were unlock + 500 difficulty potion + fees, or HESS. Outside of the extremes though, it’s pretty prohibitive. I don’t expect that the HESS enchanting is eating into your typical high enchant market on average (heck, many people don’t even bother with 10x)

I don’t expect that the HESS enchanting is eating into your typical high enchant market on average (heck, many people don’t even bother with 10x)
That's exactly what it's doing though.
You illustrated it perfectly. It's cheaper to just buy the enchants directly at DR rather than seeking out a wizard who would need to use suffuse for the project, not to mention much faster unless the wizard already has the suffuse saved up.
And for projects that aren't quite that difficult, maybe more like a difficulty of 1000, it might even be cheaper to just buy cheap enchanting from a 500 bonus wizard and pay for the -500 difficulty pot at DR.
These pots are very much putting a hard cap on the price of wizard enchanting services. Like I said earlier I have easily lost out on dozens of sales because I tell people when it's cheaper to buy the -500 difficulty pot rather than paying me to use suffuse.
I used to convert my essence to suffuse if I reached the 200k cap and no one bought the essence before the next week started, but I ended up with over 1000 saved up suffuse because literally no one was buying suffuse, or if they were they were buying like maybe 10 or 20. It took me over a year to get rid of all of that saved up suffuse, which is why I don't bother saving up suffuse in advance anymore.
It's very rare someone buys suffuse from me, and it has to be because they can just directly upgrade their item without even needing a wizard, or they can buy a pot and make it so they can buy cheap essence from a much lower bonus wizard.
Now I know the problem isn't all because of these services, I'm sure part of the problem is because some people have already maxed out their items and aren't getting new ones that need new services.

Doesn’t matter when they were released, they are still impacting wizard player services. As I said I never sold much suffuse to begin with.
Apparently the problem is the GMs decided to release suffuse but didn’t want it to impact sales at DR too much so they made suffuse way too expensive to convert. If 1 point of suffuse only cost 10 essence it would be much more competitive with these paid services.

I wouldn't sell, but wish you the best with whatever you decide. I suspect that the XP is worth even less than usual to many people because buying and playing Roblar is unthinkable, and buying and renaming him seems sacrilegious. Squatting in your tower is as far as most would go.
