Anyone figure out a relatively easy way to get rid of this annoying spyware? None of my anti-spyware programs are picking it up, and I don't know if I really want to go messing around with my registry manually.

Strange. I just started having a problem with it yesterday. Annoying too. :S

Cydoor is my new unwanted friend. I haven't heard of Aurora.

If it loads at start-up, you could always fix it to stop loading. It's not one I'm familiar with, but I'll do some looking around. :)

Managed to find a bit about it here:

Sounds like it's somewhat complicated, but not THAT bad, to get rid of, but it can be done. :)

Here's a link that has a link to downloadable software that is supposed to delete Aurora:

That's a good one, Soulpie. I have SpywareBlaster, and I keep it updated. I just don't get spyware anymore. :)

2 step plan in never getting spyware.

Step 1: Stop looking at pr0n.
Step 2: Refer to step 1.

Other 2 step program to never get spyware, ever:

1.) Download this (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx).
2.) Download this (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html).

1. Ha ha.
2. Yeah, though not all of it.

I use

Spybot S&D
Spyware blaster

I've never had a problem with spyware with these two agents updated and running.

Also, deleting registry keys isn't as scary as people make it sound. I've had to do it on both of my parents' computers. Just make absolutely positively absolutely 8x sure that the key # and directory match 100%

I got a nasty spyware this morning by clicking on a google link to a .wav site.

Spent 20 minutes cleaning my damn registry and running adaware instead of frying my cleric, damnit.

You should sue google for lost experience points.

And pain and suffering due to said lost experience points.

I think that's an excellent idea. I'll take 20 levels to drop the case, bastards.

Were you able to get this menace off your system?
