ABC article (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=765093).

Everyone has heard about this one. Newsweek, in a small column in it’s last issue, reported of Koran abuses. Supposedly, people from Afghanistan to Istanbul have protested the US occupation over it.

The other corporate media giants are tearing Newsweek apart with cannabalistic rage and even the White House has joined the feeding frenzy.

But Koran abuse has been reported before and its been said that the recent protests in Afghanistan in particular, in which Afghan and US forces opened fire on protesters, wasn’t strictly about this Newsweek article.

I don't blame Newsweek for the violence. We went in and essentially took over their country. There is always going to be people in the country that are not happy with that type of action.

I blame Newsweek for employing "journalists" that feel the need to print their opinions and not print the researched facts.

(CNN) -- Newsweek magazine issued a retraction Monday of a May 9 report on the alleged desecration of the Quran at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The report -- which said American interrogators put copies of the Quran on toilets or in one case, flushed one down a toilet -- was blamed for anti-American riots in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the Muslim world last week.

I'm an American. If I saw a magazine report that a power occupying me was busy flushing my bibles down their toilet, I'd be a bit *sad* sad. If I was an islamic extremist I'd be sad too, amplified sixteen-billion-eight-hundred-million-five-hundred-thousand-one-hundred-and-nine times.

Maybe a full censorship would have been better in this case since it could have actually saved many lives.
