And im under the impression that they are going to do some nerfs to the duck pond for next year and that they are devaluing the items because too many people complained and want to throw their wallets at things to buy good prizes and felt it unfair that people could get them from luck. Not going to comment on the pricing – the market dictates that – but there is currently no way to get +Parry% bane added to a weapon outside of some Mania/Auction win. And, considering that parry has the lowest frequency out of the three EBP procs, boosting it by 5% is a significant benefit. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Not to mention combining it with stance of the mongoose on a high EBP character that also has stance perfection set for Parry means you can probably get a lot of mileage out of this weapon. Combine it with a wakizashi (short sword) and TWC for some great times?

I cannot believe – well, yes I can... – that this stupid penalty hasn't been removed from katanas and katars yet. For fucks sake, you're already paying for two weapon skills to use the damn thing.

Decent price imo, those defensive flares are also a flat % not subject to level differences in the combat defense verb, so 100 vs 100 it's 5% yes, but 100 vs level 120 the bonus is far more significant. (With my capped THW user in offensive I have a 33% chance to parry level 100, 22% chance to parry level 110, so add on that 5% and it would be a nice boost.) If I had a THW paladin or shield user I'd pick it up.

Sorry man, not trying to purposefully derail your sale. This is the second time you have posted this item inside a year (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?133920-a-veniom-hilted-whitie-ora-katana-with-a-shimmering-crystal-edge) and you were quoted a price of 3m then, amidst others gently prodding you that your expectations are way off. I thought I was being charitable with a 5m valuation.

As for the white knights in the thread, I'd probably look elsewhere for market advice, unless one of them or anyone else ends up buying it at your price, in which case I will eat crow with a side of fries and avocado slices. Let's say I'd be happy to eat crow if it sells for more than 10m.

Just a humble opinion, but it seems to me there are only really 3 valuations for an item with this rarity:

1) What the seller is willing to sell it for. Unless the other version of this item is being sold, Irval has complete control over what it will cost to own this. In the current state - 100M
2) It's value in an auction, where the market can set the price based on demand - the longer the auction, the more potential buyers and demand there might be. We don't know what this would yield unless it actually happens.
3) The cost to build....If a similar item could even be built (i'm assuming that's a big fat "No" on this one).

Anything else is just conjecture.

To be fair to Irval, he found this sword twice. The one he found last year was sold to me for significantly more than the PC community told him it was worth.

Correct. At the moment, there is no way to acquire any bane with an parry% boost. The bane add cert at duskruin says:

"A prismatic bane adding slip will grant the ability to have a bane added to an eligible item with the option of one of the following: +10 AS, +8 weighting, +5% block (shields), +5% evade (armor), or flares. Splitter Weapons are ineligible for this service."

"A tiny bane boost paper grants a bane boost of either +5 AS, +5 DS (armor/shields), or +2 weighting to an item's existing bane. Final bane AS/DS boosts cannot exceed +30; weighting boosts cannot exceed +16."
