A two handed weapon trained sorc would have good DS?

Runestave is just a joke.

Also would like to know any sorc training paths you guys have which provided good Defense , plus lots of fun.

Andaras was (is?) a two-hander sorc.

As for DS...you'd get more with sword/shield.

Sword and Shield is the best way to go. Being a runestaff user hasn't proven viable in OTF and other higher trained hunting areas.

THW sorcerer would be a badass later levels but I tried one and it was really tough. but then again perhaps I suck at gemstone?

Thanks.
I'm thinking I miss sword and shield. May even go back to it.

He would also probably be slower and less efficient than a casting sorcerer.

I prefer a brawling/Shield over a sword n board, myself. It allows for a very good DS, while also giving you an open hand for more powerful spells.

And not have to worry about being disarmed/weapon fired/etc.

Okay , I changed my mind again.
Brawling + shield it is.

I really wanted to be two weapon combat sorc at one point.
I think I will , post 100.

You'll also have an insane defense against voln-fu.

What kinda defense would a two weapon combat sorc have, compared to runestave user?

I'm really looking forward to ANYthing but runestave.

A very low DS as they'd only be 1x weapon and have no dodge.

I see.
Okay, I'm sticking with brawl + shield.

Thanks again guys

I dont play GS unless WoW is updating but I would say the above is the most important reason.

It's viable in OTF.

Heh. Andaras was a THW sorcerer. Andaras was also wearing something along the lines of incredibly crit padded 8x leathers. He could train a one legged brawling sorcerer if he wanted.

Runestaff works fine in higher hunting grounds. Stance pushing maneuvers are more dangerous than with a shield, but that's always true. You just see more of them at higher levels. With 703, 706, and 711 there isn't all that much you have to deal with when compared to other professions.

If you want to train a THW sorcerer you will need to get about .6x dodge to have the equivalent defenses of a runestaff user. You could pull this off if you only train spells, spell aiming, and harness power.
