Not only are finals days listed in the school calander, on the syllabus, but they are also announced in class several times before the week OF finals.
If you lean over and ask to borrow a pen or pencil from me because you DIDN'T THINK YOU NEEDED ONE TO TAKE A TEST...deserved to be stabbed in the eye with said-writing device.
Sweet holy christ are people fucking dumb.

People are sometimes in denial...
like me!
I like to tell people I have herpes all over my hands (or in my mouth when they ask for a sip of my drink) when they do crap like that. No, I don't really! >_< But it's great 'cause they can't tell if I'm kidding or not and they give this kind of nervous little chuckle and ask someone else.

One of my professors in college sold both blue books (20 cents at the bookstore) and little tiny pencil nubs for $1 each. I swear he made as much money doing that as he did at his job.

I was cheated!
My abnormal psych professor would charge a buck for a pencil..
And two bucks for one with an eraser!

Though I wouldn't be as rude about it, I tend to agree. People forget things sometimes. There's better stuff to stress over than loaning someone a five cent writing utensil.

She did loan it to him (or her), it just had eye gook all over it.

Some people drop/lose/break/run out of lead for their pencils.

Typically, I'm usually more than willing to lend pens/pencils out in class. I forget them now and then too. But this is a final exam, people. In fact, this is the second final exam I've had this week where I've had someone asking to borrow one. For something as important as a written exam that is a huge chunk of your final grade, I would expect people to be prepared for it. I mean come ON, its college, almost all of us grew up with the phrase, "Come to class prepared and ready to work."

If someone asked me to pay for a pen or pencil I'd laugh in their face.

I purposely ask for pencils and pens.
Sometimes I'll ask for one from one person and, when I receive it, ask for one from the OTHER person sitting next to me.
No I don't.
But it'd be funny if I did. :(
Woooo look at me, I'm so much better because I remembered MY pencil! Grow the fuck up, seriously.

I've showed up for exams with pens only to find out i have to copy my answers to scantrons which require penicls...
That and honestly I don't keep pencils because I like pens more.
We were required to use pencils for our professor evaluations this semester. Not having to use a pencil all semester long and they drop that on us. No big deal but, gimmie a break; at least provide a couple on hand just in case we forgot or have no clue we'll need to use one on the last day of class.
