View Full Version : Shows they should bring back

Kia

I was looking at a list of all these old shows from when I was a mini Kia and there are some really good ones on here.

http://www.80s.com/Entertainment/TV/directory.html

Bring back Fraggle Rock, The Greatest American Hero (at least for the kick ass theme song), and Fantasy Island!

What shows would you want to bring back?

The A-Team (Hopefully they won't cheese it up like they did the Starsky and Hutch movie.)

Family Guy (Thankfully, they did.)

05-11-2005, 11:43 AM
All the in the Family and the good old fashioned Transformers, Ghostbusters, and Ninja Turtles. None of this new shit.

The new transformers sux.

My list. (in no particular order)

Fall guy
A-Team
Transformers
GI mutha fukin Joe
Robo-Tech

All in the Family (not sure how it would be without Carrol.)
On that note who would you cast as Archie? I'm gonna think about it for awhile.

Bah there are too many to list. TV used to be good before I had cable.

05-11-2005, 11:49 AM
George Castanza or Tom Sizemore.

Ah old Sgt Horvath would rock actually. I saw him crying like a baby on court tv the other day however. That pick has trumped all my ideas so far.. for now.

That's all I can think of right now, although there is this law show that used to be on with Blaire Underwood in it and now I can't remember the name. I used to love that show though.

I just watched an episode the other day. I used to love that show as a kid but found it rather comical now. Especially after watching SG-1 for so long.

Do you guys remember Dr. Who?

That was a screwy ass show. I was pretty little when it was on, but I still remember it being very strange.

I miss the original Candid Camera shows they would broadcast from time to time. And..American Bandstand. There were a lot of things I used to watch as a kid that aren't around anymore except maybe on the TVLand thing.

I still watch M.A.S.H. a couple times a week. Good humor. I don't think I would like a remake however as the original is just too good.

The Paw Paws
Popples
She-Ra and He-Man
Transformers
The Real Ghostbusters (It was funnier!)
Rocko's Modern Life
Count Duckula
Danger Mouse
Hey Dude
Salute Your Shorts
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Eerie Indiana
Jem

Looking back at this list makes me realize that I was really raised by Nickelodeon.

Jolena
05-11-2005, 02:08 PM
Oh snap. Forgot all about Cheers. That show was so awesome. Even when they had the audacity to get rid of Coach, marry off the psychiatrist and get rid of Dianne with whatsherface, that Alley chick who now has that Fat Actress show.

Jorddyn

Even when they had the audacity to get rid of Coach,

Er, the guy who played him died. They didn't have much choice there, unless they went all Weekend at Bernie's.

The original voltron force -- black lion was the shit!

Dungeons and Dragons, animated series.

Robotech - yes! :)

You can't do that on television -- eeeeaahhhh posters got a point there Valarie!

Pinky and the Brain

Absolutely Fabulous

(and various other things I haven't thought of)

Forgot to mention a few:

Beauty and the Beast-- dunno how many of you remember that show but it was not animated. It was totally different storyline really, very well done and the man who played the Beast was the same actor who played Freddie in all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Barney Miller-- oldie but goodie cop show.

Bosom Buddies-- Funny as hell, if any of you remember. Two guys who lived in an all girls apartment building, disguised as two females. Very young Tom Hanks.

Benson

China Beach--parents made me watch it but after a bit I really liked it.

Moonlighting-- early Bruce Willis and hilarious.

Fantasy Island-- "Da plane! Da Plane!" hehe. Lil' tattoo.

Golden Girls-- sad, I know but I like this show.

The Jeffersons-- movin on up!

Laverne and Shirley-- who couldn't love Squiggy?

Mork and Mindy-- Nanoo Nanoo!

Miami Vice-- Juuuust kidding hehe.

Can't really include SNL but back when I was watching it, people like Bill Murray, etc. were still on it. I miss that type of comedy.

WKRP in Cincinnati-- hehe The Dr. is in!

05-11-2005, 02:33 PM
Night Rider.

Ditto on all the nickelodeon shows already mentioned, I was majorly in love with them.
And I am too lazy to scroll up and see who listed the Paw Paws, but whoever you are, I love you.
Also
the Shirt Tales
Ren and Stimpy
Farscape (cause the damn mini movie wasnt enough)
And I am sure I'll think of more later

The Courtship of Eddie's Father. Loved loved loved how cute Eddie was, and Bill Bixby was freaking hot.

My World and Welcome to It. Probably the best show EVER. Only lasted for one season, starred William Windom and was based on James Thurber cartoons/short works. I'd kill for a DVD set of the episodes.

Sports something.. it was a comedy about the behind the scenes of an ESPN type network.

"Mr. Show with Bob and David"

Bring back the dancing midget who talked backwards! He's on Carnivale (awesome show) now and he rules.

Actually, I think they filmed it with the entire script being backwards and then played it backwards so it would be forwards.

Okay, that didn't make any sense, but I know what I'm saying :P

The only thing I remember from that was when Link was turned into a frog-man or something and went to find the wall with no end, and the wall CLEARLY had an end. That pissed me off a lot (at age 4 or whatever I was) and to this day I have a deep, virulent distrust of walls.

I've never watched the new one. Never had a desire to since 9/10 times the remakes suck balls.

Ya know, I know it was really predictible and stuff, but I always liked Three's Company. The early Chrissy Snow ones. They always had a misunderstanding that lead to a catastrophy that they somehow managed to fix before the show ended. But I always had fun watching it when I was younger, and occasionally now on Nick At Night.
