Ok, now I've never religiously watched a series of movies before... with one exception being Lord of the Rings...
BUT... I have to say the Harry Potter movies are seriously growing on me. The intro the the trailer, located here...

Is pretty cool, showing the kids growing up. I like the concept that it's a series of years and what not. I have not read the books, though I'm starting to think I should.
Anyway, can't wait til November.

I've got book 6 pre-ordered. I'm sure the movie will be great, but it's the books I'm always most anxious to get my mitts on. :)

I couldn't stand the movies. Haven't bothered with the books yet. Just seems like a rehash of various old mythologies and folklore intermixed with a stereotypical English tea-drinking middle class undertone. Didn't interest me for a second. More predictable than Titanic as well.

The book doesn't come out til July. I'm all excited, I already have it preordered.
I can't wait for the movie in November. I can't see the trailer here at work but I know I'll love it either way. Thanks for the link!

I didnt think the trailer was up to much.
Looking forward to the film though, that's going to be awesome. On the negative side, the book had so much in it, it's inevitable that they will be missing a lot of stuff from the book out of the film. I just hope they dont cut the quidditch world cup out...that would be a real mistake.

I must be the only one that finds very little entertaining value in these movies.

I thought of that too, Nien. They are already cutting out his aunt and uncle from the picture, I'm hoping it's because they wanted to have time to show the world cup game. Not having it would not make sense later on since it has a lot of important information during it.

You're not. My fiance doesn't understand my fascination with the books or movies. He thinks they're cute at times, but doesn't see the big deal. To each their own, I say.

I tried to watch a Harry Potter movie and it bored me to tears.

I'll be done with the Dark Tower books by the time the next Harry Potter comes out. Good stuff.
