Warrior armor fittings on armor accessories: how do they work?

So like...if I wanted to add fittings to another person's helm...how do I do that?

I tried testing it by doing:

armor slash adjust Dreaven head

But I couldn't get it to work.

I bought some leg greaves and couldn't get those to work.

I then bought some arm greaves and SOMETIMES it worked, sometimes it didn't.

Is there a trick to this? Is it because Dreaven was wearing double leathers (which covers everything) so this interferes with trying to work on helms/greaves?

Also what fittings would work? There is cloth, leather, scalemale, chain, and plate fittings, can any one work for any armor accessory? Or are armor accessories also made out of cloth/leather/scalemale/chain/plate so you have to use the fitting that matches the type, just like you do with torso armor?

I've only ever adjusted accessories while holding fittings and gear in the warrior's hands.

I'm fairly sure you have to hold the item you want to add the fittings to.

Because you're adding fittings onto the inside of armor.

You are adjusting the way armor is sitting on someone, you aren't adding stuff to it.

That only works for armor support. The fittings are different, and require that you hold the armor.
