Does anyone know or think they learned what the limit of the loot cap is please. Or even just how long till it refreshes.

Pretty sure the GMs told us the cap.

The soft cap begins at 16 million with very low impact to treasure generated and progresses slowly to the hard cap at 35 million in a month.
The loot cap starts over on the 1st of every month.
Lots of help thanks for digging that out for me

Soft cap starts at 16m, hard cap is 35m, is tied to your account and not the character(s), and resets on the 1st of each month.
Protip: Jar all of your good gems and purify/sell them at the end of the month.
So I've been gone for a few years so this loot cap shit is new to me. Question.
When does it actually count the "loot" against your monthly cap? What triggers that event? Running a few characters together and want to make sure i'm not filtering all the cap through the main one in the hunt.
Any thoughts/help is appreciated. Thx

Here ya go:

Welcome back!
That doesn't explain what triggers the "amount" to be tied to an account.
If I kill something and it drops 2500 coins, does it count towards my cap when i kill it, or by who loots it and picks up the coins? Do gems count towards cap when a person sell them/etc? That's kind of the information I'm trying to narrow down for an MA group. If i have 5 people in the group all attacking and one looting, is the one looting taking most of the loot towards the loot cap? Or does it happen when a gem is sold and that counts it?
Hope that makes sense.

in MA groups it goes against everyone as far as loot cap.

Simu won't give out any details because they're made of diarrhea.
One thing I can say for sure is stockpile your gems and sell them all at the end of the month. If you sell them as you go, you'll hit your cap faster.

So it only counts towards your loot cap as you sell stuff, not as you loot stuff?
Could one theoretically save up everything they find throughout the month and sell everything on the 30th of the month and not ever encounter the loot cap?
I know this would be logistically impossible, just wondering if it works like that.

It's both to some extent, but I don't know how much weight is behind each one.
What I do is I jar all gems worth purifying (was doing 2k and up but dropped that to 1600 this month using ;gemsort2), then purify/sell them all at the end of the month. Usually by then my loot is coming in noticeably slower, but still fairly steady. And then after I unload all the gems, it goes to complete shit instantly.
I do all this on the last 1-2 days of the month, so loot is only extra dry for that small window after dumping gems and the loot resetting. Apparently purifying doesn't affect loot cap, which I didn't realize until I read it the other day, so when you purify supposedly doesn't matter.
Estild posted something in Discord months ago about how there are some ways to squeeze a few million extra out of the 35m hard cap. I'm assuming this is one of the things he was referring to. If not, I'm sure he'll nerf it tomorrow and then demand that we be grateful.
If you skin, it's probably best to dump your skins at the end of the month too. Basically sell as little as possible for as long as possible.

Now that you've posted about it publicly it won't be for long.

Just remember to thank them on Discord when it's nerfed. Thanks.

Consider it a social experiment.
Silvers are worthless anyway.

If this was true, couldn't you bypass the lootcap by selling gems to other players?

I would assume that whenever they sell the gems, it would still count against the person who originally found said gems. Not sure how much the person doing the selling would get hit, but everyone would have a gem selling alt if all you had to do was not sell stuff yourself. My alts never sell anything, and their loot cap seems to move at about the same rate as Methais.
Finding stuff, selling stuff, etc. all adds to your cap I'm pretty sure. I'm just not sure how much weight is behind each thing.
One thing I can say from past experience is if I sold all the gems in my locker right now, I'd mostly stop finding boxes immediately after, whereas right now I'm still pulling in boxes pretty steadily and will probably keep pulling them in until then.

I trust your observations much more than I trust simu to have sensible game design on an unpublished mechanic, good to know
