Nuke the entire middle east off the face of the earth = solve 90% of the world's problems.

You have to remember to include North Korea and China -- oh wait, they actually DO have WMDs :P

I was down in Florida and there was this truck driving by spraying all this stuff. I asked someone in the restraunt what it was doing. He told me that they spray this chemical that essentially turns all the mosquitos exposed to it sterile so they can't reproduce. I think they should do something like that in Iraq.

sounds like nuveau Agent Orange, except for humans. Lots of American Vets messed up bad from that stuff. It's interesting to note though that if we were to do that, we'd have used offensively most of the weapons that we accused Iraq of having to use on us (which they haven't found there). Oh the Irony!

edited to edited up the post cuz I was too busy watching the Numa Numa video to make sense.

It's not a matter of WMDs. It's a matter of all these stupid bullshit reilgious wars that have been going on for centuries that are never going to end, and are only going to cause more and more problems throughout the world as time goes on.

Fuck Allah, fuck the "holy land", and fuck the middle east. The only thing keeping them on the map is oil.

We agree. Fuck Buddhism as well and Christianity and Hinduism when it comes to politics. People are people at the heart of it all anyway. Until people stop hiding behind and using their religion as an excuse to manipulate others, I think we will have the same problems. When the world learns tolerance and respect for each other, then we'll be making progress IMO.

I have to agree that they've been fighting over there ever since there was two of them.

Disappointing at best.

Yea, except you obviously don't seem to understand that religion *is* important to a large part of the world and that very same attitude is what has turned alot of fundamental muslims against the west.

You think Islam is what turned the eastern countries against the west? I doubt it. I know several Islamic families that aren't out buying AK-47s. I don't think any religion in itself is evil. It's the interperitation of the religion and the whack jobs that twist it to further their political aims. That was the point of the statement.

Only you would get an attack on Islam out of what I said. Try again.

What were you saying then? -That my attitude that we should leave religion out of politics is what's caused muslims to hate the west? -Or perhaps my suggestion that governments tolerant of all religions would be a way to fix the problem? Or did you just miss the sarcasm in the first 1/4 of my post?

If not, I can only assume that you were referring to the post I was rebutting, in which case, you may want to try quoting that one and not mine.

I hate it too!

That the attitude that religion has no place in politics has lead many muslims to look at the west with weary eyes. Islam as a religion is very much apart of the politics of the region and its the encroaching secularization of their lives that they fear more than anything.

These people are going to be awfully disappointed when they die in their holy wars and there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

Whoever said money is the root of all evil is wrong.

Religion is the root of all evil.

I agree. That's why I never seriously said that those religious leaders should be removed through force and governments molded into alternate models. People have to be ready for change, prepared to embrace it, and have a catalyst.

Again, it comes back to the tolerance level of the individuals in power IMO.

Religion is the root of all evil. Wrong again: People are the root of all evil.

People also like to gussy up their evil by exploiting things like money, religion, etc. There's nothing inherently evil about money (Backlash), and there's nothing inherently evil about religion.

Agreed on all points. People exploit, as Latrinsorm suggests, money, religion, power, government, what ever they can get their hands on. People give their own conjured up notions a bad name.

And why in hell did this thread go ANYWHERE?

it's only the 580,000,001'st time that anyone's covered it, how are we coming up with new ideas?
