Looks like Tony Blair was re-elected to a third term.
Congrats.

the polling only just closed to there is no result yet. A survey of just 20000 people has shown a labour win with a majority of 66 though, which is pretty poor. Nothing set in stone yet though, and I really hope the lib dems make some good gains.

I voted Lib Dems.

People tend not to vote out their leaders during war times if elligable for re-election; I think it will be interesting to see how the thing pans out though, absolutely :)

I wish I hadn't rushed to vote after I realised, it's the people who don't vote who determine who wins.

Voting is the strongest right you have that either supports or sends a message to your government imo. Even if your side doesn't "win", the drastic slip in turnout for Blair should send a message.

Why do you say this? What have you come to dislike under his reign?
He's definitely no Winston Churchill, but in comparison to idiot Democrats like Bill Clinton, he's a shining star!

Hey, Drayal...
Where in England do you hail from? Are you near Bristol or Leicester, curiously?
Tabor.
Man, I can't join you in a debate over how or why Tony Blair is/isn't flawless.
I know how much you love to argue and I expect your points to be totally fabricated and probably only created to wind me up.
Which you haven't a preyer of doing while I'm as exhausted as I am.

He doesnt reign...he serves.
He is the Prime Minister, not the monarch.
I dislike the fact that he has shot the socialism out of the Labour Party...he has taken the party further right than the Tories were, which has pushed the Tories even further right :/
The first thing that he did when he got into power was trash benefits for single parents and he was so far up Bush's back passage over the Iraq thing, he had to wear skis to stop him falling in.
He may be the best thing on offer just now, but he is far from flawless.

Worst result ever. Bloody tories got in in my area when it had been a labour strong hold. This is going to be really tough for Blair, losing over 100 seats and having so many labour rebels, it will not be long before he hands the leadership over to Gordon Brown. Don't think for a second most of us wanted to re elect Blair, we just had no 'real alternative.' My vote for Blair was purely a vote to try and keep the tories out of my area, and in the hopes that Brown would take over. I'm very hopefull that will be the case.
Oh, and out of curiosity, how exactly did you have the right to vote Tabor?

It would take a very foolish person to claim Blair is flawless. Either that or someone who simply has no grasp of British politics.
Also... You do realise that in American terms, the Labour Party policies are much closer to democrat ideals than republican? We all know Blair preferred Clinton to Bush.
Just to add, for my fellow brits so they realise how bad a tory MP is for me... Douglas Carswell, my lovely new MP has been called "worse than UKIP" on issues such as Europe and asylum seekers. You would think he would play this down no? But oh no... This idiot put it on his campaign leaflet. Needless to say, I shall be moving ASAP! ;)

I'm not an American citizen, obviously.
Edited to add: I also think Bush is quite flawless. ;)

Either you're ignorant or retarded for stating that. I'm leaning towards either ignorance or this was mere sarcasm. I can't ever tell with you.

Or he's just trying to derail another thread into a flamewar CT.
Congradulations UK on your successful election. I hope you get (back) the policies you want that you've lost and see the new ones you desire prevail.

Yea, I could join just to take it over. :)
Way to kill the thread there, champ. AND my buzz.
Yes, Jorddyn, you can come too. :)
Oh, yeah, back on topic... I read that Labor lost a ton of seats. Thats a pretty significant indication of the people’s opinion.

p.s: why go to Panama when New Hampshire is just sitting there WAITING to get invaded?

Thank fuck Michael Howard lost. Still the Lib Dems did really well up here. However I did vote labour as the MP of my present constituency is far better than the other drones. Lowest margin of victory since the first world war though.
Someone threw grenades at the British embassy on the east side yesterday. Your damned prime minister INDIRECTLY makes people sad which INDIRECTLY makes them throw grenades at buildings which INDIRECTLY makes me have lots of traffic going to work...
THANKS!
