Some of these questions for your survey are a tad open-ended.

There's a big difference between the government passing or vetoing a law because of a personal agenda than having the National Guard escorting minority groups to schools during the Civil Rights movement because local law enforcement chose not too.

(Sorry for 11, I didn't make up the survey. Also it may have odd question marks due to ramapo e-mail.. it changes commas to questions)

To clarify 11, we were more referring to.. should a government make a law to help achieve the outcome they desire. Basically making an ex posto facto law to affect an ongoing case.

10. Yes, we elected them for who they are and the choices they have made and will make. Should they still have an open mind and not go strictly by that? Yes. But it is part of who they are.

11. Should the government use its power to try and step into a case
already in progress?

This is not a yes or no answer. All cases are different, what if its because a judge is corrupt? Or known to make decisions that are often overturned? If the judge is fine, what if what if what if. Kind of lame to just give a yes or no answer to this one.

1. Somewhat, big media outlets aren't going to suppress stories advancing the interests of corporations if the gov't brings the issue to the table.

2. Of course, it is necessary for governments to present material that shows them in the best light and the job of a free competant media to accept or reject those views.

Thank you everyone so much! I just learned our third partner failed on the interview so.. we'll be doing 90+ of these surveys... if anyone is interested in the end tally of everything I'll post it whenever we compile all of these. The question about the parents and family income was more to see if there was a pattern between how people answered based upon those two. Essentially these were more meant for our fellow Ramapo students and if their parents positions were affecting them...

lol There was no answer key! All answers were the right answers.

What I found interesting so far is that the majority said that society desires to see "flashy dramatic" cases (Like Terri Schiavo) and yet nearly everyone was more interested in Social Security..
