Doing a check-in to see if I have a good plan set up for the later years (spellburst and such) or if I should reallocate to spells or whatnot. I am also pondering ranged later on (have a heavy sephwir crossbow) but right now UAC is so much quicker. I am GOS

I'd drop to 1x FA and try to 3x hiding for now, until you hit 120 ranks at level 39 (For the hiding RT reduction). Then you can lay off of it for a bit if you want to shift to 2x after that.

don't laugh - what is FA?

Sorry, that was lack of sleep typing there. I meant PF. The benefits of 2x physical fitness is pretty marginal if you ask me. I mean, it's great if you can afford it, but I'd rather 2x CM before going 2x in it (Or as I said, 3x hiding at early levels.).

okay okay that makes more sense. I will change it up now and take a break from PF to pump some more in S/H

My rogue was single in PF all the way to cap and it never felt like an issue, I do however wish that I had been 3X in S&H, but to be fair, even with 3X, some critters still find you. The game can't let rogues be the stealthy killers they should be.

Picking may become an issue for you as you get older but you will have time to bring that up before your 60's to 70's when it starts to creep in.

Yeah I figure I’ll lose out some on picking my own stuff later on but I can still use the pool for fun.

And good to know on PF I’ll def dial it back and boost the S/H

Not sure if you've checked out my guide, but maybe it has something of use to you: https://roguemidgar.weebly.com/rogue-training-advice.html

Keep in mind, a lot of the info is geared toward returning players. If you notice anything I should add, let me know.

Took a peek at it (had been using the rogue guild piece already) and learned about mug. I am now 1x in pickpockets and have 2 ranks in it. I have noticed some critters are too wary even if I prone or stun them. does that mean they cannot be mugged or I need more pickpocketing?

I'm not sure. I've always been 2x pickpocketing, and can't say I've run across it with anything I've mugged. So probably?

Also, keep in mind that more mug ranks makes up for a lack of pickpocketing ranks.

My rogue is somewhat unconventional. He is TWC Thrown, but also TWC Edged for those critters that don't crit well with a dagger to the eye. No picking, no hiding, no stealing. Ambush only for aimed open.

Just posting this for your consideration if you were looking for something different. I definitely think 1x PF is fine.

Dagger to the eye from the open? That sounds like self inflicted torture! You also don't need all that ambush if you don't hide. Your 2x CM should do you well for open aiming.

What's with all these open build rogues lately? Hiding is only 1 second now (I guess you are a few levels off from that though at 27) and you get stance pushdown, +50 CER crit weighting, and EBP is cut in half. And as TWC, once your MOC is 30 you can get Whirling Dervish and kill 2 things in one round.
